ArcAngel Posted August 17, 2024 Author Report Posted August 17, 2024 Perhaps it can be a 24-48 hour item that expires and you aren't always losing it OR it can despawn upon death or when taken by someone else. Quote

What would happen if you'd die with an ID on you? Fake or real. I think the item should invalidate if police find it as RPly you'd be marked as dead or if not found then a timer for expiration like 24-48hours like ArcAngel said, then the person would RPly be marked as missing/assumed dead. Teenyinnit Posted August 24, 2024 Report Posted August 24, 2024 i'd love this just so they give a ticket to the wrong person. Physical IDs are long overdue imo. I've wanted to switch IDs for ages and have cops physically find them on me. issue for characters like mine is that Doris is so easily identifiable that even when i "stole" an ID they just said "nah you're Doris" for this to work we really need LEO units to be willing to roleplay and not be determined for a conviction. the amount of times i've been pushed for info they clearly knew oocly but wouldn't have known IC is insane. Theres cops i've never even met before who know exactly who i am even with a mask and it's very frustrating. a 10-55 for speeding should not result in us being pulled out of the car and searched for guns... you get me? +1 this will work as long as LEO are willing to essentially play dumb and not do "further investigation" on a random hunch Quote
DannyWhite Posted November 7, 2024 Report Posted November 7, 2024 (edited) I've had similar run-ins with the ID situation where it feels like the cops have some sixth sense. I’d love it if they’d stop pulling the “aha, caught ya!” routine based on info they shouldn’t even know. I’m new here, but I've been checking out ways to make ID verification more realistic in games like this. One interesting tool I stumbled on is Identity Verification API from idanalyzer.com. It’s used in real life to verify IDs instantly—no more guessing games. If law enforcement had a system like this, they'd be less likely to bust us just based on a hunch. It's a bit techy, but imagine how much it could help the roleplay feel real. Edited November 14, 2024 by DannyWhite Quote
