Melee - Blunt Weapon / Fist fights and Knock Out

Fighting and Knock Out without the risk of death!

At this point, all damage done can be considered 'lethal damage' as you could be put into a downed state, and die from that state if not treated. Fist / Blunt weapons, even suggested car accidents should do none or very little to HP and instead issue 'wellness' damage. This would avoid putting someone in a death, or eventual death state but offer more options in the state of wellness.

  • All blunt melee weapons and fists should do very little HP damage, but could do 'wellness' damage.
  • Loosing wellness would eventually put you in a KO state, and/or Skull state, where you would need to recover.
  • Being in a KO state could immobilize and put you in a stable and not bleeding out state, but could recover eventually when Wellness recovers to a certain state, or when you get medical treatment.
  • Medical treatment could come from pain relievers, medics or time at a hospital.

The gain? Blunt objects and punching could then be used in a more RP friendly way, that would be less considered considered or lead to DM. You could get into a bar brawl and eventually walk it off, or you could have a fight club, even a prison riot could take place, giving plenty of time for further RP to occur with lockdown and treatment. You could punch another individual without worrying if they've eaten in the last hour, and you'd visibly be able to see, if they're low wellness with limping indicating areas of wellness stages.

This would additionally translate to other blunt weapons, all with their own amount of damage they do to both HP and Wellness. Weapons and fists that do HP damage would be smaller then wellness, but would still require additional recover time, and indicate on its own, that it is, in itself a little risky.

+1 it would make prison riots more RP based and not just random deathmatching with it being mostly nonlethal. From a guard point of view it would also be good because the baton would be used to subdue and weaken someone instead of beat the living shit out of them and I do love my baton.

Street fighting and fight clubs would also be enhanced by this as the loser wouldn't need to go to the hospital after every round and they'd sit out until they recover.

Would be a lot better if we could organize fights, brawls, legal or illegal without the need to constantly ask admins to revive the player in matter just because they got knocked out. It would give players a lot more freedom and depth of the roleplay situations.
