It basically doesn't exist anymore because there is always at least one cab driver online, but what if you want to rent a car for a good reason? In real life, Criminals will often use a rental car to commit a crime. Criminals will switch the plates on a car, maybe a rental, and go commit a crime so the car isn't connected to them. All too many times I have been pulled over by a cop running my plate and saying I have warrants. I believe the City Bee Rent-A-Car should become a faction just like the cab driver. Lenders can perform credit checks on potential clients and do business with them. I think the credit system should apply to the rentals, and it should be made into a faction. You could build credit for a loan by first renting a car to prove yourself, or vice versa! In real life when you rent a car, they check your credit and ask for proof of residence and ID. You provide this info and get your car. A civilian could rent this vehicle to save money on a long road trip (if he stops at the right gas stations), maybe rent a truck or van to move some cargo from a house or move some fish or oil, or a criminal could rent a vehicle for various criminal reasons (Maybe you're planning to kidnap someone, but don't want to be recognized. Maybe you want to rob someone. Maybe you are robbing a bank. You need a car with a plate that is connected to the rental company instead of you for that, so it could delay a police investigation long enough for you to lay low for a while with your cash.) Want to backstab someone who knows you well? Rent a car and mask up, they will never know it was you. There should be a rental system in this city, and the current one doesn't cut it. There is zero RP involved in the current rental system, just clicking of buttons, which I think could be improved. Imagine if Los Santos got a nice Enterprise Rent-A-Car or something. TL;DR Make City Bee Rentals into a player ran faction that performs credit checks on customers to rent out vehicles for various purposes. Both civilians and criminals can benefit from this, plenty of RP will be created for new and veteran players alike, and it could create some very interesting and thorough police RP when a rental car is used in a crime and recovered at a scene. Imagine forensics taking the prints off of a rental and building a case for a bank robbery. Would be so cool. Edited March 11, 2021 by thegxblinnn

Players can do this yes, but you can only own 3 vehicles without credits. Let's say your average rental company would need a minimum fleet of 8-10 vehicles to cover all the bases (sedan, SUV, truck / pickup - 2 of each lets say) that would require a minimum of 3 characters holding those vehicles in their names, and if someone wants to rent a certain vehicle that player has to be around. Of course I don't want too much scripted content, but to me this makes a lot of sense and I see a lot of potential in it.

To start off, i don't think it needs to be as complicated as it is in real life. There's no need for credit checks etc. But in regards to demand, there just isn't enough of it. People do already rent out vehicles, especially supers, and people have been using these services for a very long time. But most people don't care enough to rent a car, as it is not too difficult to get your first car when you're starting off and its just upwards from there. You do also have the scrapyard, which can provide vehicles for any illegal activity you would want to participate in or swap vehicles with your friend to avoid getting caught by plates, as a lot of people do. Lastly, to better check the demand for something like this, best would be to reach out to someone IC and see if something like this could be established in the current system. Business RP is picking up on the server, so best bet would be to experiment with whats available right now and move from there.

So if you got the credit apartments, 5 houses max (i think) and maxed out garage space, you would have ~35 vehicles. Cheaper option being 5 regular apartments, for an extra 10 car slots. But even without spending any real money, you could own at least 9 + any other partners you have in your business. The only script limitation would be how many vehicles can be out at any time/person, but that would be something that could be discussed if it starts being an issue and the demand is there.
