The Call of the Void

Have you ever been in a high-enough place, looked down and ever thought ''What would happen if I jumped?''

This story is about a group of friends and their adventure to Cayo Perico, an abandoned tropical island just off to the south of Los Santos coast.

It all started when Cyrus, Ava (@QuirkyMayhem) and Luke (@Luke Raven) were hanging out in Los Santos. With little to do in the way of recreational activities, Cyrus asked Ava if she had a boat, he wanted to go visit an island by the name of ''Cayo Perico'' as he heard it sported some impressive views.

The gang headed to the docks and prepared their dingy for the voyage ahead! They unhooked the boat from the docking post and headed south to the island, the waves were bumpy and they even saw a military aircraft carrier on the way.

As they headed further south, past the military ship, they started seeing the outline of the island emerging from the thick fog that had previously concealed the floating rock.

A cautious entry into the island revealed an abandoned and run down dock to park our boat

After Ava figured out how to unstrap her belt buckle whilst underwater, they all disembarked and headed out into the island. The first thing in the distance was some sort of tall tower which provided communication services to the island.

After sight seeing for a few minutes Cyrus noticed Luke and Ava climbing the large tower, they wanted a better look at the unknown island and Cyrus wasn't against some large altitude ''recognisance''. Once he climbed a few ladders he emerged from the final one and noticed Ava had stopped one floor from the top of the tower. She held herself close to the centre and as Cyrus came up said ''I..er...don't wanna go any higher''

Jokingly, Cyrus exclaims ''We should have brought a parachute'' as he leans against the railing, taking a look down.

After a moment or two he decides to scare Ava a bit, placing his foot on the railing and pretending to lean forward and over.

As Cyrus continues to mess around with Ava, trying to take her mind of the abnormally tall tower they stand on she looks at him, as Luke comes down from the top floor, and says

''Anyone getting call of the void?''

Luke and Cyrus both brush of the passing comment as they look out in the distance

Cyrus looks over at Ava and asks her if she can take a selfie of them. Ava looks over, extending her right hand as she keeps an eye out into the horizon, as she grips his phone and gently pulls back she suddenly trips over herself, falling forward and...JUMPING

As Cyrus and Luke rush down soon after hearing screams and a sudden stop to all sound, they can only think of the worst outcome. From that height no one can survive....

They reach the bottom and run over to Ava, the sight isn't pretty, but by some miracle she managed to land in a thick bush, which lessened the impact of the fall, although her legs and arms seemed to be facing the wrong way and heavy bleeding was still present.

Cyrus asks Luke to stay put and keep her company until the MEDVAC arrives. He leaves to try and find any sort of Medical supplies, as he searches he remembers that he had spotted a large abandoned sail boat on the island, he climbed up onto the main deck and tried the door handle. As it creeks open he rummages inside, desperately looking for any medical supplies. As he opens a door he spots a few spare gas cans and a bright red bag, it was a first aid kit.

With little in the way of splints the best that can be done is some pressure bandages around the worst injuries, luckily the Los Santos Medical Department were very fast in responding and EMT Winter Black (@WinterBlack ) arrived, sporting a host of emergency supplies to help Ava, the situation wasn't looking to good, but Cyrus and Luke remained calm as best they could.

After a quick flight to Pillbox medical centre, Luke and Cyrus picked up Ava, although she had been discharged she had broken a lot of bones, the best medicine at that point was rest. Cyrus dropped Luke and Ava at their house and drove home, dark thoughts of death and grief filled his mind, reminding him how life is short and unpredictable.
