A new player thoughts..

So, I been on the server for a few days and I like to take a little time to give my initial thoughts on the server for maybe other noobs to see what they're initial impressions are as well.

Disclaimer; This is my first ever time on a RP server and knowing I am a much more learn from seeing person than reading it. I mention that because any troubles I mention probably are because of the first two facts stated.

1. The Quiz. I know many don't like it but I actually thought it was a  real good one. I was really nervous about it but I realized I not need be. Kudos to who made it. I could say it could even be longer

2 Is this real RP? When i read about this, I quickly thought about some bay area youtubers I watch and I learnt quickly, this is not the same. I realized, videos must take a lot of editing to get that crisp. I have seen very little actual RP in these server. I did get stopped by a Policeman who did a very good job. I will say I apologize to him. I was so nervous my first pull over and didn't even know how to give him my license (more about that later). He was great and showed me but I really messed up the immersion. I feel really bad about that cause he was doing a good job. I know it was my first time but I hold higher standards than that. I logged off later and did more reading cause I wanted to improve. After that, I had an interaction with a medic. That was much better. i RP'ed a concussion. She didn't pick up on it but I still think I was much better than the first time. She did a good job too.

3. First Hours: Good immersion or bad? Here is where I think the first thing I have noticed. Los Santos is a very scary place when you first arrive and don't know what to do. Yes. I was given a forum discussion this one guy posted and that helped me alot, so thank you for that. I bookmarked it for reference.  I didn't know commands and I was scared what I can ask on the server and not ask. Am I allowed to ask someone a command? I didn't because I was so nervous to break the rules. Now, being generally nervous is my issue and not on the server, so I take blame for that part entirely. I still am scared to go to a mechanic cause I don't know how to do it. I only do certain jobs because not sure how I do them (No taco truck for me and I think it looks cool)  Again, I think directions are good, but seeing something visual is always easier, so I think  I will struggle more than most. I am so unsure, so I don't try because I want to respect the server and the community, I wonder if having a walk through trainer on your first day would work or is not knowing just great RP? It could be.

4. Fines and Tickets; The prices. are too much? I think an escalating fine system should be in place. These fines and tickets are a way to keep poor people poor (which may be cool in an RP sense to be honest) When you're learning where they are, they can kill you. 500 a pop for a new player is a lot. I wonder if that can be adjusted, 

5. Crime: This is, i have found to be the biggest issue. It's not just a crime problem but also a cop problem. Their is way too many people getting there car stolen and robbed. Why? Is it because cops look the other way? Is it lack of morality in other civs?  I do think  both. I was robbed and kicked in the streets in the busiest bank in Los Santos and seen three people watching and  one with his hands up cheering and taco man kept selling tacos.. Not one helped or stepped in. Is that truly the way life is? I think it can be but i tend to think crime rates on here are way above realistic RP. I have had my car stolen 2 times, robbed twice. Got beat up in a police station parking lot and in front of the busiest bank and not one person said anything. Is this for RP reasons or or other civs just not good people? 

Making it: My last assumption is how is a person who wants to do is straight and narrow make it? Crime controls everything. Cops are too afraid to do something about the gangs. In both times I was attacked, nothing was done. I had a guy try to run me and two other guys over in a bus in front of a police station. we were told nothing they can do. Is this justice? Is there anyone out there trying to stop these gangs because it makes the experience less fun by a wide margin. I have not put myself into bad situations and still got robbed. Think there needs to be balance to be honest.  Harder punishments for being a gang member. I'm talking to you blue car gang. Also, I don't want to turn to crime to make it. Has anyone else made it legit?

 

Let me say with all this being said, I am having a lot of fun. It's cool to see my guy's life play out for good or bad. So, thank you eclipse for all you have done. I hope to continue and create more memories

We need electric chairs for crimials after X strikes out. The more Rule Breaking, NON rp or unrealistic or out of RP logical bounds, you get more and more strike outs, until your CHARACTER IS COMPLETELY WIPED. Then these gangers will fear the real mortality of RP. See if they're Banks and they're saved up stolen money will dissapear if they just do what ever they want. 

Need Cops that get bonues or Bounty calls on criminals, the more report a player has, the more the bounty on his head grows automatically. 

 

Players can also change indentiy and CID on the top changes each time you log in so... It's very hard to say "that guy stole my stuff" cause A) he just runs off with it, never to be caught or judged for his crime. B) he can change his car color, change clothes and completely go to the other side of the map just to get away, Basically, A kind of detective or a fair gain for cops to at least TRY to catch the people that RUN away. Maybe a automatic Witness thing that when these crimials kill or get described by their ID to the police, it will show a general wareabout for the cops to try to find him? Maybe give him ceration escape routes for the criminal to do so he is mobile and he cannot just simply camp. Maybe rid of the Masks and make sure they are illegal in day time. this is not hte Coronna iN game - no need to be ridiculous. Just make Masks Illegal in day time, so yyou can see EVERYONE's names and Alias'se

And if someone puts on a mask, then... people can stay back a bit.... he is up to no good. cops will see that and react accordingly.... 

I can think of like 15 thinks to Make life harder on EVERYONE and at the same time making it more equal. Same for the people that already have all the power in the world and the gang memebers to support a full on war. but stealing from civilians is where the party is at........

 

There should be something that gangs can, like a competitive match, get into an area that they can do all the DM and TURF wars they want, maybe t he south side of the city can be a LOT MORE dangerous for GANG members to hang around? of course any civilians caught in the crossfire - well... this is a bad neighborhood. so stay away kind of idea.

when someone knows you and can tell your name to the cops, or at least can DESCRIBLE how you look to ROLE PLAY an actual ID (cause as I said, yo ucan just change your looks very VERY fast), then the player is marked for the cops and now its just a matter of getting away with it AT LEAST this is a bit fair cause the cops can catch him and give back your stuff? money? items? w/e or just throw him to prison, money comp. he needs to pay it for you, some money goes to the palyer. this happened to me, i was changed 7500 $ for just running from the police with a LIMo, (recorded on twitch) and I got fined. which is absolutely perfect. But If the cops aren't there... which 90 % of the time they are not, which is an issue in RP servers, civilias vs cops vs EMT ratio is very hard. But seeing that all the recuitmnet desks are almost closed ( i applied for both emt and police) and it seems like they are kind of full, indicating that I should see cops all over the place- but I still don't. I've palyed today 16 hours total almost and I barely saw any cops... not only that.. I was actually trying to steal and rob RP wise and i still barely encountered them - all over the map.. almost nothing.. just a general feeling from the streets.

Dude I highly recommend you spend some more time on the server just learning about it. Read up on the rules and ask questions. You made a report where you broke a lot of rules in your own video. That and you are stating things that are not true. PD/SD gets over thrown by Zetas/Triads/NLA at least once a week after the new bank robberies came out. So again I just would say to you give yourself more time on the server and read the rules.

Excuse you but I already spoke with an admin that watched the video, except the OOC chatter I did not break ANY rules. So do not SPREAD lies. If you want to specify in the VIDOE itself in the comments WHICH rules have I broken I would be happy but. I can get a general Idea of the server . I alone today went over the rules multiple times, one after another and If you did truly read my Report, I stated clearly which rules I believe the Suspect killer broke. I know which he broke and I have proof of it too. So I don't know why are you coming to me in complains about an EVENT that I did not choose to participate in. Nor did I break any rules so as far as im concerned your opinion is not on subject at all. 

Server rules are not even realted this his subject.

 

At the end you can say all you want but I will just keep on commenting on PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY THAT REPORT THAT IT IS JUST NOT FUN WITH ALL THE MURDER AND RANDOM STUFF going on and the bullshit that you get robbed constalty.

 

I played many RP servers, like anyone else, and I can truly say that Eclipse is one of the best I've played on when it comes to player count and number of players there that can RP like nothing I've ever seen.

That actually makes my point stronger. I said that the COPS are too weak and cannot control really the situation due to their seemingly small numbers.

 

I was on today for 16 hours, just TRYING to do cool crimes, I have it recorded. And I did not see a LOT of cops. some close calls yes, but... generally.. if they don't catch you in the act, you have between 3-10 minutes until a cop is even close to a REPORTED crime scene -if it even gets answered.

 

A cop told me one, thaty they CANNOT simply respond to every call. Think about also FAKE calls that REAL Gangters make to fake the cops with serious requests? if that's a thing.... i heard some gang people talking about that while fishing. ramming cops to buy time on specific scenens. All I am saying that people aren't really afraid of any consequences. 

 

I am new to the server, I've played for the past week no stop, did literally EVERY activity almost in the game, got into a gang, robbed, helped, laughts and even got lucky. I don't know about you but of course im not top in the server, But I can tell you that the RP and how people treat each other in the server is... weird and not natural. People play like they aint afraid of nothing. Our whole gang just got wiped yesterday and the police didnt get involved. how can a WAR happen in a city and the cops sit by?

I tend to stay well away from trouble but what can I say, even these random death matches and robberies are out of control - the least I am asking for is RP out of them but that's not gonna happen.

People need to understand that the points is not the rules or the game or even the server.... its the role play. its LOGICAL if you just follow it

Its like IRL, but you can be a bit more crazyy and wild... it shouldnt be TOO Much out ofyour OWN character, to give it a natural feel.

There are some characters that take it to the extreme but even EXTREME characters can have Role play, you can be a Psycho with a GREAT story behind, one that KILLS but only after he asks his victim what kind of food he likes and then goes on a rampage about suchi for 30 minute while holding 2 people hostange in a clothing store - this is just an example yes? obviously.... but I don't know why are you being so OVER PROTECTIVE about this matter? Can you not SEE the matter in hand? that people ARE being a bit TOO agreesive?

A BIT TOO much in the way? either people don't know how to RP, they're shy? they simply dont know how to do it? 

OR they're actually here to just kill. w/e  i don't mind.

 

You telling me play the game more.... I can list you more than 50 examples from the PAST week alone that I was like... what is wrong with this... why is it so hard to get a decent experience and a good role playing scenario. Not EVERYTHING needs to END in bloody murder. you can also humiliate or kidnap and talk to him one on one. idk. there are zip ties, and you can drag people into your car - which on itself is great RP. no one even has to get hurt or be the wiser...

it seems people don't EXPERIENCE the same thing on this server... HUH isn't that weird?

I can tell you for sure that for a fact that my time as a ((NEW PLAYER)) was BOTH SECURE AND VERY WEIRD

cause Like mentioned before, a lot of players that wanted to rob you OR do something with oyu saw you are NEW

And now as a Criminal myself, I can see that to, there is no reason to approach these players.  Even not to help them out.....

That is the mentality of a lot of players in the game that I have experienced. 

You can agree OR you can watch my 40+ hours that I've made on this server in the past week - but suuuure assume that I haven't read the rules. (although I made a couple of reports and I've started I had atalk with an admin)

Give me examples, except my Mixing, which I already noted in the bottom that I do not even care cause I got RDM'ed I am sorry for hte players (taxi driver) that drove us there to begin with but he didn't seem to bother it too much - looks like the people being bothered with me mixing are actually trying to DEFEND the Random Killer ....? seems convenient.

OHH you mean I need to FEAR the guy that just jumped off a CLIFF, CRASHED MY CAR, jumps off apparently unwounded from crashing into my car in like 20-30 mph (which realistically shouldn't be a thing anyway - but what ever). Let me tell you this, 16 hours is not enough time to get any feel for a server, stuff can flip and flop all over the place in this city, secondly you say that cops are 'weak' cops have numbers and they have unlimited access to very heavy weapons, weapons that on the street could run you 40k+ and the cops get them for free, everything is worked for and cops get handled by the big gangs in the city all the time, there are cops all over the city but 80 percent of the time they are responding to a crime, not just roaming the streets. Really recommend you keep playing and enjoying the server because theres lots more to come, lots of in depth rp and lots of RP scenarios. 16 hours is not enough time to get a glimpse of hour this server operates. Hope you keep playing and enjoy.

EDIT: Germane it was a joke. I really expected for something more, but like I said, I did not Break any rules. An admin WATCHED The SAME video you did and he did not metion this. Are you saying that the ADMIN is wrong in his assumptions?

Hun I've been playing and you can ask an admin, im pretty sure the LOGS record that... not leaving players tho apparently....

I can count alone the Streams and the videos I've recorded, its about 40-60 hours this last week alone. And Like I said this is not my first RP server run. 

I play not for the money, not for the kills, not to be famous or the most dangerous person in the server...

I play to have fun. I play to RP

I play to have an experience, good or bad, realisticly, that if its by my FAULT i will agree to EVEN an ELECTRIC Chair if I did the crime, i will pay.

 

BUT tHIS IS NOT HERE OR THERE, this is complete RDM

And the proof is here, I don't know why are you guys defending this so hard.

Like I said MAYBE in the later game with GANGs and stuf fthere are under cover cops and stuff that make BIG crimes HARDER to do.

Attacking a Grocery store or a Bank is HARD - its supposed to be hard. 

Robering a citizien? should be relativily easy! or is it? it all depends on....

The police or the areas that you can trust more or less.

But Just randomly killing without a reason, noise, even a squeek why he "robbed" us is just a big no no in my case.

This. This is my point. Cops do get handled. Do you think that is some what realistic in a REAL city? If a COP gets murdered, it shjould be a LEVEL RED of JESUS no one is going to die anymore and lets get this nonsense over with - exactly like you said, Gangsters have week guns for a purpse and they cost to upgrade their inventory - after all, all that suits is for killing SO except threating and killing , thats where the RP ends if you choose to BUY a good gun. That is your decision.

 

I can tell you you can get cops even drop their guns in the right scenario and you can get it for free! I did that in my past RP servers too.

In a right RP moment that they have a chance at least to react - just like with every player.

when someone knows you and can tell your name to the cops, or at least can DESCRIBLE how you look to ROLE PLAY an actual ID (cause as I said, yo ucan just change your looks very VERY fast), then the player is marked for the cops and now its just a matter of getting away with it AT LEAST this is a bit fair cause the cops can catch him and give back your stuff? money? items? w/e or just throw him to prison, money comp. he needs to pay it for you, some money goes to the palyer. this happened to me, i was changed 7500 $ for just running from the police with a LIMo, (recorded on twitch) and I got fined. which is absolutely perfect. But If the cops aren't there... which 90 % of the time they are not, which is an issue in RP servers, civilias vs cops vs EMT ratio is very hard. But seeing that all the recuitmnet desks are almost closed ( i applied for both emt and police) and it seems like they are kind of full, indicating that I should see cops all over the place- but I still don't. I've palyed today 16 hours total almost and I barely saw any cops... not only that.. I was actually trying to steal and rob RP wise and i still barely encountered them - all over the map.. almost nothing.. just a general feeling from the streets.

 

-1 more time on the server and you will literally see cops everywhere, you play on wrong timings if you see no cops because i practically see one in 1 out of 3 streets. and if your talking about RP what is with the electric chair? there is no RP in that adding on his character gets wiped? -1 thats not smart at all in my opinion. they've ruined some criminal RP for alot of people as some want to have the intensity of cooking drugs at a lab because thats what its to be used for and some arent rich enough to get tables so that would make the RP way worse and should not be implemented.

Hun you are missing the point of the Electric chair - it will not be for RP crimes. You can go CRAZY you can be a drug queen or a king combined and take weed untiil you see mars

The Electric Chair is for RULE BREAKERS ONLY. let's say it like that. You get 3 strikes or something. There are several KEY rules that cannot be broken. 

I am speaking from experience, I used to play another RP server on Arma, a military simulator, and the Electric Chair there was ALSO for MAJOR and EXTREME crimes. so if you rob the bank and kill 12 officers while doing that and get caught... you have a good chance that your account might be wiped. And players we're absolutely fine with that. You know why? CAUSE CONSEQUESNCESSSSSSSS

 

I will say this for the millionth of time. I have a Streamer. I literally played the last 1-2 weeks (you can check the videos) around the clock, from all night longers to morning till evening without getting out of my chair - I love playing on this server, but SOME stuff and SOME rule breakers take it out for me. Completely take my fun out of it. COMPELTELY.

So sorry if I just want to add something that these rule breakers won't thrive and feel free to do what ever they want. Cause then what happened to be can happen to anyone.

I've never seen a cop stay in one place (if there is no event going on, even partol or license plate checking) they usually pop in and out 5 minutes bye bye, they're gone FOR AT LEAST another hour irl.

That is my experience, and yes! ! I robbed stores with the gang, actually like 5 in a row, we didnt' even see one cop, in kind of the rush hours of the server, while rolling up with like 3-4 cars. So. I know these are just here and there, I believe you that you feel otherwise.... But what can I say, unfortuantely, its either I am getting the short end of the stick when I get in danger, cops are usually not even CLOSE, although I am in main areas my self often, so I think just knowing the number of how many cops are there (which i actually dont know how to know that and nor would i like to know) but i am sure the ratio is not even close to being fair comapred to the size of the map - like any RP server.

that is all I am saying, there is too much ground for police to be even considered a threat for criminals cause literally all you need to do is run 1 km away from the scene in a random direction and HIDE. and that is it. they you made sure no one saw your direction and where you went hiding or what not, you can also get away with painting your can fast and changing your clothes/hair everything....

So... yeah Its a hide and seek game if its for just small criminals or what not?

Trust me mann I have a lot of experience, YOU ARE RIGHT not in the DEEP sea of gang wars and such - but most of the BASIC things that player do on this server 50% or even more of them do stuff that I try to do as well and research and understand why this or that better than that. everyone does that simple jsut to work more efficiently. 

Tell me an example that you think I do not understand, I am telling you from my point of view, I've just ended another 6 hours gaming session today which I tried like 2-3 new things. 

give me some slat and cooperate instead of just saying I don't get it - cause trust me if you explain it, this will just be over with.

I type in like 70 words per minute. so that's why you see these walls of texts, it doesn't cost me money or time almost...? i don't know

people like me play this server for so long everyday and we are not fine with consequenses of LOSING YOU ACCOUNT because this server is huge and veryyyyyy active meaning if that happens, that would literally RUIN the criminal life and all your money spent on the game ((OOC MONEY)) would be gone and that would make the criminal life the worst and the server would be boring. there is already solitary and no one wants to lose their account -1

Again. I said. you will not Loose everything. This rule is for Rule Breakers.

Do you break the rules of the server often? do you get reported? any thing that you can be recorded and get you Banned for? 

If you ticked all of the above with a positive and fully-minded decision that it is in fact a NO. you do not break the server's rules often or at all.

Then you will never be given the chair.

Can it be more clearly said than that? I am sorry I am not being condescending... I had to literally type that 3-4 types already.

So it doesn't matter if you spent real money on the server - if you rule break, that is your fault. 

 

Regarding the 'you are NEW here and you want CHANGER' all i can say, like ANY forum pro (which I am not) please search your OWN forum - like any community in RP that I have been in, there are flaws, some are more easy and some are game breaking. You are correct, I can ALWAYS play more. BUT unfortunately, like I said, and if you checked MY posts, I have a report of a rule breaker that, in my opinion, random killed me and the admin's own words after seeing the video that he did nothing wrong, in fact, he encouraged behavior like that and I a bit lost my passion to the server cause if that could've happened again it would really suck haha

 

just want to play more that is all. just like the rest of us.
