The Detention and Parole Bureau, introduced on April 11th, 2020, aims to rehabilitate and reintegrate persons into community-based corrections for peace and social justice. The Bureau aims to increase public safety by promoting positive change in offender behavior, successfully reintegrating offenders into society, assisting victims of crime while upholding our core values and ethics, and reducing crime, recidivism, and victimizations by motivating offenders to become productive and law-abiding members of society.

The overall Mission of the Detention and Parole Bureau is to contribute to public safety by maintaining a balanced system of institutional and community programs that provide a range of custodial options, supervision, and rehabilitative services in order to facilitate successful offenders' re-entry into the community upon release.

Efforts to rehabilitate and reintegrate criminal offenders as law-abiding and productive members of society are essential to the reduction of crime. These principles form the foundation for policy, allocation of resources, the establishment of priorities, case management decisions, organizational structure, and future development of the Detention and Parole Bureau.

On a day-to-day basis, the Detention and Parole Bureau is in charge of the release of parolees who have been interviewed by Parole Deputies and Agents. After they have been paroled they will be monitored and checked in with for mandatory parole meetings. If for whatever reason a parolee fails their parole agreement, the Detention and Parole Bureau will do everything in its power to apprehend the suspect!

The Debrief

The Special Enforcement Detail had a contract down at Los Santos International Airport in regards to the recent bomb threats we have been receiving in the City and surrounding Counties. In order to get the entire Airport swept properly to ensure no dangers are around, the Special Enforcement Detail did a Joint-Operation with their K-9 Division and EOD side of SED. The Operatives and K-9 handlers made their way down to the Los Santos International Airport in a convoy formation with all the equipment that was required. The EOD unit grabbed his gear in the SED Tarv and the rest followed with the rest of the fleet. Once they arrived they began debriefing their plan and began moving.

The Search

The Special Enforcement Detail and K-9 Division made their way into the Airport, inspecting every inch of the hallways leading to terminals and any store inside. A few Operatives began inspecting electricals such as vending machines, panels and even elevator shafts. The K-9 handler would bring their dog in order to sniff anything we were checking until it would alert us. Finding nothing interesting on the first main floor, all of the units made their way to the train station underground.

The Interesting Alert

When the Operatives began inspecting the machinery downstairs, the dog alerted them to a positive alert and the EOD unit made their way downstairs. He brought his ANDROS robot and began inspecting the surrounding area. All of the Operatives and Handlers waited upstairs while the EOD unit began working. Once he confirmed the threat he neutralized it with his equipment. There was then alert when inspecting a vent on the roof and once opening and investigating further, the EOD unit found an active bomb with a timer of 30 seconds on it. We all quickly evacuated the area and contacted MD. Once they arrived they went up and took out the fire that was caused from the explosion and we sealed the area off from public.
