Toxine Posted August 25, 2025 Report Posted August 25, 2025 Just make it available for everyone at any time, the waiting time & cost is already a huge discouragement for people to do it, but people use it only when there's no mechanic around. It makes no sense that it works only when there's 0 mechanics available (Bennys + Bayview). During early hours, I've found 1-2 mechanics on duty, but none at the mechanic shop I was at. There's literally no downside into having the selfservicing available at all time, as people would prefer to pay less and wait time, but for those that want it, let it be available. Also, it's a way for people to repair vehicles they dont own, which solves an additional issue per se. I genuinenly don't see any downsides whatsoever in any of this, as it wouldn't be taking any RP away from the mechanic shops, it would just increase the flow of people in them. Quote
Jordan Posted August 30, 2025 Report Posted August 30, 2025 +1 I cannot tell you how much of a pain it is, to have a nearly destroyed car, on the brink of being absolutely totaled, getting to Benny's only to find the mechanics clocked on are all the way at bayview, now I have to drive all the way to bayview without so much as touching something. The Repair kits only do so much, and are already costly. Quote
Capone. Posted August 30, 2025 Report Posted August 30, 2025 +1 to this, I agree with what Jordan said as it's happened to me a few times this week. Or make them so it's dependant on the faction based at that location, so if no bennys are clocked on the auto repair is open in the city but not at Bayview and vice versa. Quote
Toxine Posted September 10, 2025 Author Report Posted September 10, 2025 gang please implement this Quote
Quietthecutie Posted September 10, 2025 Report Posted September 10, 2025 +1 but the cost would have to be so prohibitively high its used only as a last resort. Lets call it 5k. also you cannot use the service if youve been involved in criminal/PVP roleplay in the past 30 mins to stop people just dipping in and out mid chase. Quote

It already takes 180 seconds to do a self repair and the price is already high. I think its pretty fair Quote

I think its pretty fair I Disagree, I think the cost and time should be prohibitive to the point where unless its an absolute god damn emergency, this should be prohibitive. 5k is expensive, but if there is truly no other option and you need that vehicle repaired right now, its still an option. And also I think it should have 0 bearing on PVP situations. There was no mention of PVP situations in the initial suggestion, so the wait time i propose should not be an issue. basically the mechanic suggested should not in any way affect immediate pvp situations. otherwise its subject to a million other questions. I dont want that. I Want this to be pushed through. And with the caveats ive offered itll go down alot smoother. Edited September 11, 2025 by Quietthecutie Quote

It currently takes ~150 seconds to repair a vehicle. Which is WAAY longer than any possible gap/lost VC with any LEO's and/or any hostile situation from catching up to you. If you have time to be waiting 150 seconds in place at Bennys, you could have fixed your vehicle the regular way, in far less time, especially being able to be fixed outside as well, so you can just run off if you see someone. Like this, you are scriptly stuck in place, in a very narrow space, where you can get fully blocked in. This basically removes the shitty feeling of having to repair your car and not having the possibility to do so, especially nowadays with the state of the server where there are not even that many players around.
