UseroneGaming Posted June 24, 2025 Report Posted June 24, 2025 (edited) As it stands, if someone's harassing you via OOC PM, the only way to stop them is to report them and hope that an admin is online, is on-duty and isn't busy with other reports. Why not take the load off of the admins and allow individuals to just type a command, for example /blockpm [id], to add the messenger to the player's personal blacklist and not allow them to message them OOC? If someone /blockpm'd you, and you tried to message them, you would get a message like: "This user has blocked private messages from you." The exceptions to this could include on-duty staff, including admins, who's PMs are much less likely to be harassment and actually deal with real issues. Edited June 24, 2025 by UseroneGaming Quote
Marksy Posted June 24, 2025 Report Posted June 24, 2025 The only issue I can see with this and a reason it'll never be approved/implemented, is due to the fact players may need to PM you after a situation to ask you to save your POV for a report they'll be making against you, if you block communication with them, then they can not inform you of this. Yeah it's quite that simple, I don't think this functionality is needed Quote
PufferBulletin Posted June 26, 2025 Report Posted June 26, 2025 I'm against completely blocking person as this would be just a reason for blocking all the other gang members and then whilst being reported and having excuse "well i was not asked to save POV as the person is blocked" Rather give ability to slow PM's from the person, as example 1 PM per 5 minutes or 10 minutes. Although, whilst playing on server for 2 years, I've never had issues with PM myself, there would be someone writing that they're unhappy (rarely and understandably some people get upset) and the best thing was just to ignore, we all have that ability and guess what, that would never go any further. If they keep spaming you and harrasing you can report that. Quote
Requiem Posted June 27, 2025 Report Posted June 27, 2025 As stated by others, blocking PM's would do more harm than good. PMs should be used to inform other players if you plan to report them, or maybe even try to work out a situation with another player so a report may not be necessary. If someone is PMing you with OOC toxicity, report them. If they are saying very vulgar or extreme things, report it in game and I am sure an admin will assist quickly, as we take OOC toxicity quite seriously. Otherwise, if they are just being obnoxious, just kindly ask them to stop and/or ignore them. Quote
