Handling Police Gunpoint Scenarios

In real life when someone is held at gunpoint especially by police they still have the ability to run away This doesn’t mean the officer will immediately shoot as law enforcement must justify the use of deadly force. Police can and do shoot fleeing suspects if they can articulate that the person posed a significant danger However in many cases officers might choose not to fire due to factors like bystanders lack of a clear shot or the situation not warranting deadly force

Applying this to the server if an unarmed player is held at gunpoint by police they should have the option to flee or surrender rather than being forced into compliance The officer’s weapon should serve as an intimidation tool rather than an automatic means of forcing obedience reflecting the realistic uncertainty of whether an officer would actually fire.

Fear Roleplay is the concept of showing appropriate care and concern to preserve your character's safety and life. We aim for balanced gameplay through this rule, and it may not be representative of real life at times. 

9/10 times a crim breaks fearRP in a LEO situation, its the thought process of, "im going to go to jail anyways, might as well try and drop at least one" when you're surrounded by 10 cops holding you up.

you have a gun to you, and you dont respect that, you're not fearing for your life. DM rules apply to both Law enforcement and Crim, both ways. you have a gun to your head, you dont obey, law enforcement have every right to drop you then and there by the rules.

I'd consider supporting a change to the fearRP rules the moment crims start complying after being tased 20 times. maybe we give taser the ability to do 50 damage, so 2 shots and you're down, but dont have a bleed out timer, it just forces you into a stabilized state? 

how many posts till this gets locked and archived? lol

i do think the tazer idea is great i have been tazed too many times and it does no damage u have to actually rp it so you dont break nrp 

about the gunpoint i would say its true that you have to fear your life but at the same time you should have and option to run from the police if ur non threat and unarmed as some officers pull there gun out when u dont do what they want

you don't have that option, because if you do, the person you're running from has every right to just gun you down as you run away, so you're not fearing for your life.. fearRP makes things balanced, not realistic

i know its fear rp im saying the police in real life, police cant just shoot you just cuz ur fleeing from them and ur unarmed and non threat this will be great in game too they can taze you but shooting at  unarmed man just for running away should be a crime this should only apply to police but if your carrying a weapon or ur arrested for something that may be a threat to the other people then they can

Making when and where fearRP counts and doesnt count is just overall a bad idea. fearRP being situational doesnt work, especially when half the people on the server dont follow the rules as they are now. if you have a gun to you, you fear for your life, doesnt matter if its a cop or a gang banger.

the moment the general crim player population start holding themselves to the same standards they expect from law enforcement, the moment we can start talking about removing fear RP in law enforcement interactions

i think police should not just shoot criminals just like that sure if they are dangerous criminals but a normal criminal should not just be shot as hes unarmed shooting someone just for fleeing from  you should be a non rp i suggest this rule should apply to police when they are arresting someone in real life you sure do have fear when a cartel put a gun on you but police is just there to protect you or arrest you they are not killing machine

Rules apply to everyone for balancing purposes. Also, what makes you think the cop won't shoot you? In my book, if you run away, i'll shoot you. Also, aren't you banned for ban evading? This shouldn't concern you..

eh harveyy im indeed banned but i can still talk about the things i think it should change 

its true that you may not know, the cop may shoot you but they also may not shoot you so i feel like instead of the cops directly  shooting someone they should first give clear warning shots and here the fear rp should apply instead of just being held at gunpoint and be scared and not be able to do anything

well then i guess the tazer option is the best they should just make tazer to take actually damage and take ur health slowly or it actually give you a shock like your screen get blurry and losing the ability to talk and walk after getting tazed to many times
