Make it NRP to check UI's on houses for robberies

Pretty self explanatory but the amount of times I have witnessed people checking every door in the Vinewood Hills after 9pm in game to see if the "House Robbery" UI is on there is a obscene. It's unrealistic and the only real way you should be getting robbed at a house robbery is if someone has actually seen you walk into the house. I have been robbed multiple times and let it go but I feel like it's just poor RP and we should look to do something about it.

It already is considered metagaming to go solely based on the WI.
EDIT: Whoopsies I was wrong! I believe the current stance is that the WI helps to aid investigation if a house is being robbed, because if the lack of being able to see movement through windows or a broken lock.

That said, if someone sees suspicious stuff like a car parked outside or someone moving stuff into a vehicle in the middle of the night, they can investigate.

I got told it isn't metagaming by an admin, before and my vehicle was nowhere near. When I lockpicked the door there was nobody in the area or in sight so it's 100% non-rp or metagaming if that's what the rules have been changed to?

I was misinformed! I've edited my post, apologies for the wrong info!

 

However I do wish there could be more tell-signs that a house is being robbed, I'm unsure of how to go about it though.

i personally think the people wanting to rob said house robbery should have to come inside the house and witness it, giving the person inside a chance to see them, criminals going into an unlocked house at night isnt as nrp to me as criminals walking up to a door then camping a bush for several ic hours

i add +1 to this but also got to remind everyone that any complaints about this system right now will not be taken into consideration as house robbery promotes SOLO roleplay and we know that server does not like it and I dont as well.

Get a friend, a scout, share the trophy. I know that friends are not often on at the same time, but having a friend will be safer and help you secure the robbery.
Heck you can even get robbed with a KNIFE if you have nothing or a crate in hand. How embarrassing would that be!

in the mentioned thread @Requiem said to add commands and I suggested to also add the house robbery script to different houses and have a rotation so it isnt just the same houses all over again because most house robbers get robbed by house robbers who already know the houses and dont even need to check every house for it.

I had a Micro SMG on me but there were two people sitting in bushes that managed to wipe me out. The issue isn't about it being solo RP, if that is an issue then make it harder, make the noise bar more delicate, make it more difficult or something? The idea of the criminals sitting outside of a house they "know" is being robbed and then wait to rob them when they exit just seems super non-RP to be honest. As someone suggested, you should have to go inside to rob the people robbing or at least get the information that it is being robbed, by seeing the person in the act.

And not to mention that those who get robbed while doing the house robbery, usually get robbed OUTSIDE the house, because nobody goes INSIDE where they can trip the alarm and then BOTH get fucked.

Ask your friend for help.
Tell them to scout. Not like an obvious scout, but just discreetly oversee the house you are robbing.
If somebody comes, most probably they will have guns and sit outside in a bush.
What your friend can do is go to his nearest stash house, grab a gun, tell you on the radio that it is hammer time and wait for him to give demands to exit out and start shooting.

Even better, those robbers probably will politely wait for you to finish your robbing and putting everything in crates. So once your good, you can enjoy your fruits of labour and also the new guns!!!

To even it all out - tell your scout to grab those guns as a gift!!!

Sorry for my bad english but I really do not understand what is the problem when there is an easy solution and that is playing with friends...... 😞

Ratty behaviour and it's probably Non RP to scour a neighbourhood looking for someone's robbery to leech off.

We also dont really break-in, we lockpick the door so its not like someone is putting a boot to it or climbing through a window.

I understand what you're trying to say but sometimes your friends might be on NLR, busy doing something else or not even on the game. It shouldn't come down to having to have a scout. The idea is fine but as Bala said, this UI is an issue because the door is being lockpicked, not booted off the hinges. It's not RPly obvious that the house has been broken into, it's all based off the UI.

been suggested to death and god dammit im still +1ing it.

setting aside the NRP argument which has been covered. its also incredibly poor from a gameplay perspective. the robber has to commit significant assets to even have a chance to successfully rob (drill, money for the location, transportation, crates, weed etc. all in all easily 30-40k.) Its alot of organisation and planning.

This can all be immediately gimped in an instant by someone just riding around vinewood on a bf checking each wi on each door. Terrible experience.
