Different earnable outfits within DOC for criminals

Recommended Posts

alright, got another interesting suggestion for y'all brainstormed between myself and SpinalShank.
being a DOC inmate is pretty boring. There's not much to do other than earn stamps to get money once you're released, or fight people for shits and giggles.

so this suggestion is to give people a new goal to focus on if they
're in prison, something to unlock!
There should be a couple new sets of inmate jumpsuit options available to be unlocked.

how do you unlock them
?
deposit stamps at a new kiosk/interaction menu, to build up a stamp count that carry's over so you can progress each time you visit prison.

this will be now a third use for stamps besides money
, or time reduction. each new outfit would cost a set amount of stamps donated to earn. you could be allowed to change outfits as you see fit, like an /fl locker spot at the showers for inmates, or be forced to wear the new outfit you've unlocked once you're processed into DOC. having different outfits players can earn within DOC will add some interesting new dynamics to prison RP, people new to prison will be in the standard outfit, but long time prisoners or frequent offenders who've grinded out the outfits and show off their status and experience within prison.

what do y
'all think?

Possibly having npc's within DOC that are rply smugglers, and by giving them a sum of stamps they can get in something like from spray paint, weed and for a higher amount things like knives. Exacts amounts and specific items would be up to developers and stuff but could be fun.

IRL trade happens between prisoners all the time, and I feel like this could add a little extra rp for inmates, coming from someone who has been in the DOC faction for about a year now total.

i think buy a shank, is a good idea, but i feel it should line up with a "prestige" style as well, maybe unlocking certain levels of clothes will unlock the ability to "trade" stamps for drugs or shanks. but also dont want it to be an abundant problem

Is there any benefits to the different outfits? Regardless I think it would be pretty fun side thing to do.

Also while we’re talking about DOC outfits, I’d like the idea of having different jumpsuits for different characters based on their IC threat they could pose, like low risk inmates get one uniforms, or high risk or lifer inmates get a different jumpsuit,

Naw, just something to grind out, and to show off as an earned cosmetic for putting in a lot of stamps to unlock them.

inmate leveling system? interesting. say, do you think people will grind it out?
same with the upcoming freelance job system - i would be very sad if all the work i have done before will give me no XP.
Same goes for Veteran gangster, seeing them in a regular jumpsuit while a newly joined player who has been to jail 80% of his RP time would be in a `respect the boss` type of jumpsuit.. would be kind of sad!!!

+1 to the idea of different jumpsuits in general

+1 to the idea of jumpsuits being indicative of a leveling system that would allow progressively more stuff to be smuggled in for stamps

Maybe all players are initially assigned a jumpsuit color based on their existing criminal history? Like if someone's been to jail for traffic citations, they're not some respected criminal with street cred for smuggling. Having been to jail for a few counts of cop killing, terrorism, drug/firearms trafficking, etc. though, can be more influential on your initial rank.

Then, your "cred" grows with a multiplier based on the crime you went in for (felony, misdemeanor, attempted crimes, accessory to crimes, against gov employees, etc.) similar to how its set up for jail time currently.
