WakeUpFilthy Posted October 31, 2023 Report Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) Hello. I had the idea of giving people a notification when someone is coming for you, just like the with DDC. When you are calling for a taxi, you get a notification when someone is coming for you. Why cant it be the same with the impound? Example: A guy is waiting at the impound for police to come ->An officer is on his way to the impound ->The guy has enough off waiting and leaves the impound -> The officer finally arrives at the impound and the guy is gone. For both people time got wasted and i think accidents like this happends on a daily basis. If people knew that someone is coming, they would wait at the impound, and not just leave and do something else. Edited October 31, 2023 by Logan Castello 2 1
raaqu Posted October 31, 2023 Report Posted October 31, 2023 Great idea! I don't see any reason for this to be denied.
JWIT1 Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) I don’t think this would work as how the current impound system works is when a player rings the impound bell, LEO’s get a notification and that’s it, it is not like a 911 call where they can respond to it. I have been in that position of waiting for PD, but again I know the flip side of it, and honestly I feel like the current system is the best as it is right now. I don’t see a practical way of it getting better. Edited November 1, 2023 by JWIT1

Cup Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 At this point I doubt automatic impounds will ever be a thing. HOWEVER I do wish that the impound notice would differentiate between paleto and the city. Since there is really no way to know which impound lot the person is at (it usually IS the city but this causes even more problems as the times it is paleto everyone ASSUMES its the city)
Cup Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 Sorry i was speaking from a LEO perspective the notification they get
Eliza Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 Impound has since been changed to allow for automated vehicle release if no police arrive in a timely manner
