DeanThompson Posted October 27, 2018 Report Posted October 27, 2018 Can we make it so that demerit points expire after 30 days? Can we also create a permission for PD that allows demerit points to be reset (i.e. in case someone was wrongly given a demerit etc)
punched Posted October 27, 2018 Report Posted October 27, 2018 (edited) +1 A police officer pulled me over and gave me a 3rd degree speeding ticket and a demerit. 3k fine. I went to PD, spoke to the officers and got the ticket removed because 3rd degree speeding is 80km above the limit and i was going 20 above. They told me that the demerit however cannot be removed. The only way to remove it is to have your license revoked and retake the drivers test ($400) Edited October 27, 2018 by punched Spacing

LiveTrash Posted October 28, 2018 Report Posted October 28, 2018 Demerits are there as a way for us to issue a warning without financial impact. Sometimes we'll chose to give a lower fine amount and a demerit rather than a higher fine amount. The higher amount of demerits don't have a negative impact in terms of anything in the game script or the size of fine you'll receive if you are issued a ticket/fine.

Demerit points don't reset after suspension, they just continue to add up. You get suspended on 3, 6, 9, 12 points etc
