  1. +1 I would love to see that. More people would get different animations as well, and it would show more diversity. Having an umbrella for when it rains, a small notepad, etc would be a nice change, it wouldn't need to even the person to buy the props for little things like notepads and such.
  2. Date and time (provide timezone): 4/FEB/2024 1900 - ongoing in any busy area Character name: Alex Schill Issue/bug you are reporting: VOIP will quickly pop in with the voice of someone not in the area, causing quick random "pops" of audio, cutting in and out, coming from people not in your vicinity. Expected behavior: These quick audio bits that cut in and out should not be heard. Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: https://streamable.com/o0rob8 The effect is usually worse when standing still or in a busy area. After reviewing the clips, they come in either the left or right audio channel and last just a few ms, just enough to cause a loud pop effect or quick exposure to voice on either channel. I mixed together a clip of this happening while standing still over about 5 minutes within Mission Row.

  5. This is a server with high standards for RP, and that should carry into not only our actions but our words as well. This falls under OOC Toxicity and should be in the rules as such. Telling people comments that carry OOC weight should be held to the same standards as our RP. For those thinking we are getting "soft" because you can't use homophobic, or racist slurs or that you can't call people OOC toxic comments? I think you can have the self-control to keep these comments to yourself or face the consequences. You signed up to abide by good RP standards and rules, always striving for a healthy and strong community. We should rule actions and comments on the same level. For those who feel things are getting soft, well, then get permission first. At the end of the day, ECRP should be a healthy community. We have rules in such for this. Adding on these toxic comments into what would already be ruled to most as toxic just makes us stronger as a whole.
  6. HUGE +1, love this idea and it's relatively minimal for the gain it gives in clothes and style.
  7. A massive +1 for this update, DOC needs some love, heck the stamp price rework alone is huge in getting people to play poker, escalate RP, etc.
  8. Fantastic suggestion that would benefit the community! Even drop bins would be nice where items are deleted within 24 hours still but people may collect the recyclables and take them to a location (like the pawn shop) and get the cash for recycling.
  9. With all due respect it has been over 2 weeks now and I see no difference or encouragement in IC interaction. If anything Pillbox/Legion/Mission Row and the Courthouse are crash city. I honestly wish I could give out one piece of proper and fun IC interaction, but I can't. Sandy is a huge setback for everyone, we're low on medical staff and those who are on duty now are spending more time just driving that calls are now falling back on PD and SD to be taken care of, stretching everyone's resources thin. If there is a large scene somewhere it is tying up most of MD if they're not having to come from Paleto of Pillbox half a map away. Then most other call are ignored and well it is hurting RP rather than helping it. If we know a suspect is injured, they have basically one place to go, so its not like criminals can go to another hospital to try and avoid police attention. It almost feels like we have no option but to camp one hospital, which honestly is not fun. This is a bit of an OT thing but from what I've noticed interactions are not in a public area, IC interaction and planning is taking place elsewhere and the congestion of people are new people, loud music and screaming, bouncing all over cars or getting run over b/c of others trying to park. I see where this idea originally came from but I think its time we own up to the fact that it was more fun and better off with multiple hospitals, especially Sandy. Overall it was a interesting(?) experiment, but I think we see this is causing more problems than it is solutions.
  10. +1 The one thing I would also mention is the impound lots require us many times to back in a flatbed to a specific script location, while avoiding a slew of perma-stalled vehicles. It gets to be a logistical nightmare when crowded, doing a 10 point turn to line up exactly with /settowposition and /untow avoiding these vehicles that pile up, along with people, and other mechanics. Again just enough health so the vehicle can drive, but still needs major repair would be a big QOL improvement.
  11. Great idea, I do not know if it is possible with the script however if you can, this would be fantastic and open up many more RP opportunities for almost every side from especially MD Civ and Crim opportunities.
  12. They wouldn't be able to check if it is suspended, but realistically, I don't know a mechanic shop that has access to DMV records. Let's say I get into a DUI and my license is suspended for 30 days, I can still drive my car to the dealership or mechanic and they'll fix it without questioning.
  13. We may just disagree, which is totally fine but there would be IC consequences if you take too long suspending the license. I mean if the consensus is that concerned it would be abused and won't risk it make it automatic with adding the charge in the MDC but I'd say at least give it a shot before resorting to this. However and maybe we got sidetracked, but the main reason is also to add RP as @Ramo pointed out. If you have the suspension proximity removed and accessed via the MDC while removing the suspension being shown when one does /license, it adds more RP for LEOs. Not only is there now a chance that people may get away with a suspended license if it's not checked properly, it also adds a reason to go and run a license through the system, especially say on a traffic stop for the LEO to go back to his car, open up the MDC, run the license to see if it's valid, like it would be done IRL and then return to the car even if you're issuing a warning.
  14. There is still IC protocol that would be in place, it's not like people will suddenly add hours time to your suspension. We're talking a few minutes as other IC stuff is completed. It's no different in that regard to someone not doing /prison or /jail
  15. @SmushyTaco I agree with your first thoughts and @Ramo on the ID and a command for checking if the license is suspended, it gives LEOs more to do, more RP and an more reason to get back in the cruiser and run a license in the computer after RPly taking/looking at it. This makes it more realistic and fun for everyone. As for your swap seat suggestion lets keep this to the OP, I'd suggest a new thread as this would create a different debate and draw attention elsewhere.
  16. +1 While it keeps us on our toes but we have much more paperwork and other IC related stuff to deal with. IRL this would be in the arrest report. With LAPD this is done through the desk sergeant or judge who files a request for suspension to the Motor Vehicle Department by the person who finalizes the arrest report. You'd be waiting for this entire process to take place before the suspension is carried out. So in-game it's not feasible to have to be next to the person, if it takes another 5-10 minutes to finalize it report, I don't see a problem. Also IC regulations would come in if this was abused, on both the PD and suspect's side i.e. IA's, JB cases, etc.
  17. I do see the point from both sides, giving the medics possibly more calls and RP opportunity, 911 systems vary wildly and other points made above. On the other side, depending on the nature of the call, police would be likely be dispatched after a violent crime in public (i.e. bystanders calling 911, dispatch hearing it is a GSW/knife wound, or other information), for gunshot wounds, etc. The thing is, we don't have 911 dispatchers and as Aldarine mentioned elsewhere, every phone is tied to a person, so it's really a gameplay/realism balance. I searched the web for the systems that CHP and LA 911 call centers but didn't find anything concrete enough to say "yes/no the owner of the phone is displayed in their system". I would say that if the script was changed so that a number only was displayed, there is a place in the MDC to let PD/SD to search by phone number. It gives PD an extra step if we're actively looking for someone but if officers are tied up or not paying attention, a person can more easily slip through. This hopefully allows MD to get more calls/RP, doesn't discourage an active or wanted crim from calling 911, yet it is still a roll of the dice if an officer will show up on scene to investigate. ( ICly MD and PD/SD can also tweak policies with this ).
  18. @Aldarine not to get off topic, my hat is off to you, I never took the step to PRN. Between us it really showcases how different things are depending on where you live. Budgets, manpower, etc. really change things. Thank you for your insight! IIRC and please correct me, but I believe the screening protocol for GSWs also carries over for cases of overt violence (i.e. knife wound, indications of abuse, etc,) that come in, I'm not sure on the enforcement as the ER or TC usually takes care of that and the Police and Paramedics stay behind as well where I am. I found this which talks a bit about LA/CHP dispatch https://www.chp.ca.gov/find-an-office/southern-division/offices/(514)-los-angeles-communications-center (and all the goodies they get.)
  19. I only chime as I also have experience. No offense to @Aldarine one bit but I've found it different where I am in the states. IRL I'm an EMT and certified dispatcher. I have dispatched for a small town's Police Department, I also worked both jobs in a large city in the US. In the city, mind you technology keeps evolving, but when I get dispatched to a medical call it is on the police department's frequency in the city, they just send out the tones for us to be notified. The police hear the name and address/location of the caller. Usually if we get on scene first, police are usually on site by the time we leave. As for the small Police Department, 911 was and is still routed through a county system, so medical calls go straight to a large dispatch center, however the local PD dispatch is notified at their station via computer, in my county police are dispatched to every medical call and 9/10 times arrive to the call before the ambulance can get there without getting into detail. That being said, any ER that gets someone with a gunshot wound is required to report it to police and allow them to write a report before they are discharged. TLDR It's situational and contextual, in my experience both phone numbers and names of caller are released in most circumstances. As Iriael has mentioned, I believe the system is good as is, I would advise having a friend call or come pick you up if you know you are wanted. If anything I'd say PD should be notified of all medical calls, but I won't open that can of worms.
  20. +1 for this update, especially since the visibility is extremely difficult due to the altitude and spawn distance. However if the lockon could be a bit of an advantage unless it is gone as soon as line of sight is broken, which would be much more realistic. So +1 for everything and a clarification on the lock on.
  21. +1 Fantastic idea, would add a lot of run, more RP for everyone
  22. +1 Very well thought out and it makes perfect sense, you won't use a daily driver that is guzzling fuel and it adds more balance to just about every element.
  23. Coming from the LEO side myself I love this as I see way to many people just bored. Jumping on cars and doing just stupid shit b/c they literally have nothing to do, it's a pain for us and I feel for these guys. Also wanted to hit up the issue of rewarding factions for their RP and coordination skills, I love this as it makes everyone strive for a better experience. +1 without hesitance
  24. +1 Whenever trying to do focus on different clothes or even just taking my time browsing items, cars/mods or even loadouts, I constantly have to move and change the view. If that timer could be disabled somehow it would be of great help!
  25. Date and time (provide timezone): Ongoing through 14 JUN 2021, 2300 UTC Character name: Alex Schill Issue/bug you are reporting: I noticed that it seems 90% of the time when using a xbox controller to drive the cruise/speed limiter (/cruise) does not work on vehicles. Sometimes toggling it multiple times does work but again it is hit or miss. Expected behavior: For the car to not exceed the speed set via the /cruise x command Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate: Connect to the server with an Xbox controller, hop in any vehicle and set and enable cruise (say /cruise 80 then use full throttle on the controller, the default being right trigger.) If it is re-enabled and the keyboard is used, the car will use the cruise/limiter correctly. The only way around this and still using a controller would be to use something like RemapWASD and setting the triggers to W and S for gas/brake. I'm guessing the bug is due to the analog input from the triggers. Vehicle license plate number*: CQWCJNJD
