Ye as mentioned there is people who will change and people who wont change. But the people that change will change and the people that dont will get banned again. The main point is a timed ban to prevent people from changing servers or just completely quitting from impatience of the uncertainty to the length of the ban.

Seen this used in other servers which is quite smart imo. I think a big thing to focus on is increasing the player count. A daily reward for being logged on for certain amount of hours (2–3). Do it in the form of crates. Who doesn't love a good crate opening? Could be OOC rewards Credits, Vehicles, Free Name change, Free license plate change, VIP etc Could be IC cash rewards. Could be a mixture of both. When there's nothing to do I don't feel enough incentive to stay logged in for my 12 credits (if i do 12 days straight and dont miss a day)...

Create an NPC on the map people can go to that offers all different types of missions for us to do with a cooldown of 24 hours from when you start the job with rewards that get better the more you tick off. Could be 5 jobs, randomized order. Could be something simple like 5k to complete job 1, 10k to complete job 2, 15k to complete job 3, 20k to complete job 4, 25k to complete job 5. You cant pick and choose what mission to do, you have to do in order they come. A mission could be: Collect a NPC van (RPly full of drugs or weapons etc) and deliver it to a designated location. When you click start job the van could spawn on the map and be on your GPS. Collect a vehicle and deliver it to the cartel (at LFB mansion). When you click start job the car could spawn on the map and be on your GPS. Sell car parts to the NPC, could be just the engine. Sell certain amount of drugs coke to NPC. Sell certain amount of LSD to NPC. Sell certain amount of Crack to NPC. Sell certain amount of Heroin to NPC. Sell certain amount of Ecstasy to NPC. Sell certain amount of Meth to NPC. Sell certain amount of packed cash to the NPC. Sell house robbery items to NPC. Sell marked money to NPC. Why it benefits the server: It gives people incentives to cook different types of drugs. It gives people incentives to do the petty criminal stuff they normally don't do, like stores, ATMs, and house robberies. It gives people who love cooking a reason to explore other criminal aspects like chopping, banks etc and vice versa. It gives people a reason not only to log in but to stay logged in, boosting the player count on the server. It sets small goals for crims to complete everyday to keep them active and engaged. Some players don't like doing certain criminal stuff and stick to their go-to method of making money. That's why I feel like everyday it's just rinse and repeat and become quite stale for crims. This could potentially motivate people to do other stuff and spice crim up a little bit and keep people logged in longer.

As I mentioned. Some staff are more lenient than others which could be a big factor in the length of your ban. That should not be a factor. As I mentioned, Anybody can write a good appeal and make all these promises but realistically your not going to know until you see the change in their actions in-game. All players need is time away from the server but a timed ban can lower the chance of them changing servers or just moving on, which will not lower the player base which should be a HUGE thing to focus on. This could also save staff a lot of time reading and responding to appeals to focus their energy on something else like in-game reports, alt-rp requests etc.

If i got banned for something where im unsure of the length of the punishment, it would encourage me to go play other servers and make friends there and not come back to ECRP. If i got banned for a timed ban for lets say 4 months I would think okay, ill take a break, play other games and come back to ECRP in 4 months. I would know in my mind that I would be coming back in 4 months so theres no point of me changing servers and in 4 months i would be playing on ecrp again, essentially not lowering the player base.

Ye but "indefinite" is just too uncertain. I know people with similiar admin logs. 1 banned for knowledge of ban evaders, unbanned after 2 months. 1 banned for the same thing (different situation but still similiar cases) still banned after 14 months. There;s a lot of people with similiar logs that stay banned a lot longer than others. Unless your cheating or ban evading you should be on a timed ban. You can still consider there past behaviour etc, but timed bans are a lot better solution imo. I would rather be banned for a 6 month timed ban then get a perma ban in a situation where im unsure if im going to be banned for 2 months or 14+ months.

Anybody can cook up a chat gpt appeal and I know actions speak louder than words. People write shit on an appeal and then go contradict them with their actions. So like for example something like unfair gamefile mods is ajail then perma ban. This could be changed to ajail then timed ban based on severity. Everywhere in the general rules (that isnt cheating or evading) where it says "indefinete ban" should be changed to "timed ban". This is what it says on most rules at the end: Anything from a warning, admin jail to an indefinite ban. This is what it could say: Anything from a warning, admin jail to a timed ban based on severity (1, 2, 4 - in months). Some punishments are more severe and they can be higher or lower then the example above. Gives transparency and fairness to all players.

This has probably been talked about before but I feel like every ban excluding cheating and ban evading should be a timed ban based on the severity (low, medium, high). I've seen people break the same rule and 1 gets unbanned in 2 months and the other gets unbanned after a year and another may never be unbanned. I feel like permananet bans leave uncertainty because you dont know whether you will be unbanned, as i said, in 2 months, a year or never. And sometimes, whether people want to admit it or not but it can come down to what staff member you get based on their leniancy. I feel like changing this would give transparency and fairness to all players. I know that some players change their behaviour after a ban and I know some dont but I feel like a timed ban will not only give them a set amount of time to think about their behavior but also stop them from going to other servers with the uncertainty of the perma bans which will essentially lower the player base. I know there will be comments under this thread that will mention how some people just dont deserve to come back but as i said some people change, i know this from experience. Some examples: Someone who right now could be perma banned for DM could change it to 1 month for low, 2 months for medium, 4 months for high Someone who right now could be perma banned for Unfair GameFile Mods could change to 1 month for low, 3 months for medium, 6 months for high Someone who right now could be perma banned for NRP could change to 1 month for low, 2 months for medium, 3 months for high These are just some off the top of the head examples, they could be highered or lowered, but the main thing im getting at is the uncertainty in perma bans and that all players should be treated equally with a timed ban based on severity. QOL changes I would like to see implemented (some may be mentioned already): NPC at impound - Nobody wants to wait 30+ mins at impound. List of you vehicles with impound fee. If you have unpaid tickets or no license it should not allow you to take it out Ability to buy more than 1 item at humane labs (slider from 1-100) - Spamming buy is tedious. If it doesn't make RP sense to buy a lot of materials at once then once you press buy, maybe your player does an animation and there is a loading bar? Add to stores too. Allow auto-repair at Bayview if there are no Bayview employees online. - Currently, it won't let you do auto-repair unless there are no mechanics online (including other mechanic shops) Allow auto-repair at LSC if there are no employees online at LSC and Bennys. This thread was made for two reasons. First reason was because I was told right before the announcement in an FM meeting that all gangs with guides including current official ones were going to be set to tier 1, so obviously if it takes minimum 4 months (if done perfect) for anyone to order .50s and pumps then ye I would be pissed along with other people I spoke to and told them about this BUT that has been cleared up by FM now, stating the current official gangs will be placed in higher tiers. Second reason was because of the punishments for not receiving a promotion was set to no more than 2 and for a big gang that would be difficult and in my eyes impossible. Dont get me wrong, its a good update, It's been a long time coming, I just feel like it needs some tweaking perhaps. Also I was wrongly informed by staff yesterday right before the tier system announcement that all gangs including current official gangs was going to be tier 1, starting from scratch but if what Bakmeel is saying is true and some gangs will be higher tier and are able to order specific guns from the get go then it might not be as bad as I thought. We going to see what happends from Saturday when it begins and how it unfolds I just hope staff listen to the community if tweaking needs to be done.
