  1. This is an IC issue. It's the same problem MD had when there was no one willing to work there and Weazel. The server just goes through lulls in certain jobs. Be adaptable, like people have to do IRL Change is good! Put a song on your car stereo and take a drive up to Bayview! It added to my character RP who never gets out of the city, it reminded her why she liked the city CAUSE BAYVIEW PEOPLE BE CRAZY lol
  2. There's so many things to this point that's interesting. I've always like the idea of having a natural end to my characters. I have 1 mil + experience on one of them, and I wouldn't mind CKing her in the right situation. However, the way I've seen CK's work properly, is if you go into something knowing you have the possibility to be CK'd. AKA: you join a gang and fill out a waver OOCly that if your character does XYZ they are eligible to be CK'd by the gang. You character does X thing and gets CK'd. You now get to rename that character and start their new life over, but you have to sell all the previous assets or come up with an RP story as to why you character has those assets. Unfortunately that example does not work with our current city because everyone can just alias one another, which means if someone name changes, you wouldn't know and would still refer to them as their old character who died. However, that's the best way I've seen them done, where a character never TRULY loses all the time and effort someone has put into making them money/getting assets.
  3. I am tired of being forced to call LSSD and LSPD because of OOC corruption rules, but then being told I'll get shot for calling cops. You can always ask for OOC corruption, but it's not always granted. However, your character is ALWAYS held accountable for calling cops. Recently, a report sided with the LEO's that called cops, saying that calling cops doesn't necessarily mean you have DM rights on that character. Can we please remove the example of gaining DM rights against those that call cops and stop the threats against people on duty in a legal job that are forced by server rules to call cops? For those that aren't aware, OOC corruption is a rule that every legal job has. It means that you can't do illegal things while on duty. That is the most basic definition, but it really varies by job as to what you can and cannot do. Some examples of how OOC corruption rules change RP: Off-duty cops are required to call police when they see a crime happen (even if it's your best friend or family) On-duty mechanics, DCC, and weazel employees have to call cops if they see a crime (even if they play a crim character) No one is allowed to give discounts to anyone in any job without OOC corruption perms The list goes on, but I feel like I've made my point. OOC corruption is forced on people due to people abusing faction duties in the past/not sticking to logical character stories. A character should not be held ICly accountable for what OOC corruption forces upon them as the only way to obtain permission is to ask the faction head.
  4. I think the title says it all, but I am so tired of the NRP way people talk about prison. It makes no sense. Cops talk about it in hours, prisoners talk about it in jail as years, but then if you're in jail a cop can just come back in and suspend your license or add charges half way through your sentence. Essentially, you've RPly been in jail for X years, but you're getting charged for something you did an hour ago. or whatever. If it was referred to as hours instead of years, then a lot of these actions would make more sense. Current rule: Time is converted in jail to years to be realistic to the charges Change Suggestion: Have it just be referred to as hours and minutes. Just avoid the confusion and conversion. Yes, it may not be exactly like "real life", but the current system makes 0 sense. It would just be nice for all of us to get on the same page.
  5. Take into account: Valentines week, Thanksgiving week Take into account: people type/read at different rates, sometimes 2-3 people are RPing at once (PD/SD scenes and/or shootouts, events, parties, etc.) 3 Ads every 5 mins means Weazel takes over the chat box every 5 mins. That's ridiculous. If we had the ability to expand the chat box, that might help. However, a toggle would be 10x better.
  6. +1 to being able to turn off Weazel ads. It can ruin detailed /me's and /do's from being read with consistency. Whether it's my phone or a command I can toggle, I'd like the ability.
  7. ((You would see a post from Olivia_Valentine)) @Herrman_Wolff I think there's some brown on your nose.
  8. @Shwy tbf like... can you blame them?
  9. Unfortunately the player ran businesses section is in the OOC part of the forums and therefore cannot be used for anything IC. (as I'm sure you know <3) THIS IS AMAZING AND I HOPE IT HAPPENS! It would cover like most things I'm talking about in this post. So essentially what I'm trying to solve with my suggestion would be to create, like you've stated, a "content" section. My character has started a non-profit where she holds events for civilians. IE: community meetings, voting events, etc. Right now I've housed this in the events section, but there's so much more I'd like to post/helpful links/guides. All IC stuff of course, but it doesn't quiet fit as an event and I don't wanna post it in the OOC section of the forums because I'd like to use/reference it ICly. I've love to be able to have one "website" of sorts like your "content" suggestion where I could post the umbrella company and then links to all the businesses under that, if that makes any sense? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thought something similar + with the addition of voting/political parties/etc it would be nice for something other than life invader to be used as a way for people to advertise/promote their party/create smear campaigns/talk about their non-profit the list goes on with the possibilities.

  12. I agree with everything, but this. As someone who avidly hunts on the server I don't think it would benefit anyone to change the prices based off a bonus. People already try to destroy the market as it is, it would be better to just leave that part be. I was actually happy to see admins didn't add it to the job board.
  13. I have played a crim for most of the time I've been on ECRP... but either way lol The point still stands... like it's a permanent thing you're telling someone to do... I can survive someone shaving my head and trash talking like it's an Xbox multiplayer lobby... but like if the wrong person hears it they may not survive.
  14. Honestly I'd be okay with things like that being allowed. The fact that in 3 years I've NEVER once had someone tell me to "go kill yourself" nor have I heard other people say it in general speaks to the fact that people don't NEED to say it nor do they use it, so making it gross RP to say would not be limiting people. You never know what someone is dealing with OOCly and people have their fair share of mental issues both RP'd and OOCly. Telling someone to go kill themselves even ICly should not be allowed as you never know if that's the straw that breaks the camels back. The idea that people are not okay with saying the "n" word or the "r" word or "f" word but telling someone to permanently end their life is a-okay. If someone kills themselves they can't come back from that. You can come back from hearing the "n" word.
  15. I'm not sure how one sentence signals attitude, but there was no attitude intended. I apologise if it came off that way. It appears as if we will have to agree to disagree @KonaKealoha for numerous reasons: I have gone so far as to quote the FTC definition of monopoly, which falls directly inline with what Weazel and DCC currently are. There have been numerous testimonials by people who have tried to create their own business that is not script supported in order to try to offer the same services as scripted jobs, and have failed. Effort plays 0 part into whether or not admins will scriptly support you eventually. If you follow the current person trying to start a car washing business, you can see the IC and OOC struggles they're going to... simply to wash cars. They can RPly wash the car all they want to, but it will never be actually washed unless a script is implemented for the business. As someone who tried to start a bike rental business myself,.. I asked admins if it was possibly for me to RPly stow away my bikes, but OOCly run them into the ocean. My character had purposefully bought the Mule with the ramp as a back door to move the BMX's back and forth, but because of GTA physics, they were teleported out of the back every time. I was denied this request and told it would be breaking server rules if I did that. It did not matter what RP I tried to do, I was literally unable to simply stow my bikes away so that I could pull a car out of impound. This led to Olivia abandoning the idea of a bike rental shop completely due to OOC reasons. I did not want to have to ICly call 5-8 friends to move my BMX's to an apartment complex, just to unpark a car from Mors Mutual. I had already done this a few times and it was getting quite old. People have tried to start other marketplaces or IC means for people to place ADs besides Weazel, but most have failed or do not reach all audiences. I'll leave it at those reasons, but it really helps for people to put themselves into others shoes and realise that saying "if you put the effort in, you'll eventually get support" doesn't really solve the issue as that is not the case.
  16. Posted in the wrong place thanks!

    Buying tables

i hate to say this... but if you're asking if you can ask to buy tables ICly on the IC section of the forums... it might be something you ICly need to ask... as this is the OOC part of it.
  20. I just don't find it right that you have to ask permission to say the n-word or LGBTQIA+ slurs... but you can actively tell someone to kill themselves. It takes two seconds to ask for permission OOCly.
  21. Honestly, in the years that I've been playing ECRP, my characters have dealt with a lot of ups and down. They've been tortured, robbed, forced to do others bidding at gun point, cursed at excessively, etc. etc. Not once in all those times were my characters ever told to "go kill yourself". I thought it was almost an unspoken rule or against the rules. However, today for the first time it happened to my character. Call me sensitive, but I think this should require OOC consent to say to someone. Thoughts? 7. IC and OOC Interactions Offensive Language, Sexual, Torture, or Disgusting Roleplay Players are only allowed to engage in sexual, torture, or disgusting roleplay if all players involved including witnesses give prior OOC consent. Such roleplay should therefore not be held in public areas or areas where players commonly visit, e.g., prison/jail. Usage of ethnic and/or LGBT+ related slurs is considered disgusting roleplay and all parties involved must give prior OOC consent before it can be done. In addition, it must make roleplay sense for your character to want to use any racial slurs In Character. Racism Out-of-Character is strictly forbidden. Players using offensive language excessively In-Character through text or VOIP must stop if a player asks for it Out-of-Character. Players are not permitted to use offensive language Out-of-Character to others. Punishment: Anything from a warning to a permanent ban, depending on the context, severity, and occurrences.
  22. To be fair, IRL truckers in the states actually make bank. Just FYI, especially if they have their own rig and can do independent contracting
  23. I've never heard of this ICly... on any of my characters. So... yes your idea works, but to actively reach everyone in ECRP, does it actually? No. @Puzzling tried to start the mirror park market place, which is the closest thing I'd consider to a "Weazel", but have you heard of that ICly? Probably not. I think you all are missing the problem that I tried to bring up originally. These are monopolies. As the title states, the suggestion is to remove the SCRIPTED monopolies on the server and allow for other places to have the script access. Weazel is a scripted monopoly as NO ONE ELSE CAN OFFER THE SAME SERVICES. DCC is a scripted monopoly as NO ONE ELSE CAN OFFER THE SAME SERVICES. Yes, you can have people call your personal phone for rides, etc. How do you hire other drivers though? Do you list it in your ad. all the numbers people can call? How do you put out ads if you're blacklisted from Weazel? How do you put up blips? Do you think someone is going to sit there and try to call someone, especially with the system being what it is now (aka you don't know if someone is online or not), wait for an answer, etc etc? /fdo only allowes for like 120 characters... and you can only fit so many ridesharing numbers on the poster before you run out of room. No... so we have great business ideas and people with motivation to do it, but 0 script support.
  24. It's clear you have not read through all the comments after reading what you've stated. Repeating the same thing others have said about how Weazel was a player ran business speaks to that fact. As it's been stated multiple times it would not be competition as it cannot offer the same services. @Pazz gave a great explanation. Not only that, but once again. If you read the comments player ran businesses do not make money on this server. I have know night club owners, who end up losing money every time they open but still do it for the love of RP. I tried to open my own business as well but again it was for the love of RP and my character ended up losing about -1mil in profit cause it failed. Same thing with @Puzzling, and the list goes on and on. Try starting your own business that isn't script supported and see what it's like. It's not easy, and even if you beg you may still not be able to get help for some of the simplest things from admins.
