  1. EclipseRoleplay You may use this forum board to create a representation/recruitment thread for your criminal factions. Government Factions Government factions can only be created by staff members of Eclipse Network, but they are controlled by a hand picked leader, who can hire his own assistants to aid him in management. These factions receive their funding and paychecks from the government. Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos Emergency Services are examples of government funded factions. Criminal Factions Criminal factions can be created by any player and are all treated as equals. The leader may manage the faction however he wants and may grant other members management permissions. These factions receive money from their criminal activities, such as extortion, drug and weapon distribution, robberies, etc..
  2. Hey, welcome to Eclipse Network! Next time, try to avoid text walls because I had a headache reading all this text ;d
  3. Our team members have already discussed the timezone problem. We expect our players to come from many different timezones, therefore we already have plans to make in-game time run faster than real-life. 1:4 ratio is the most likely scenario as we want to keep a reasonable lenght for night and day time. Location messages will be definitely implemented and it should not be difficult to do so. Actually, a lot easier than in SA-MP, because we can make use of the client-side scripting oppurtunities.
  4. Hello, GinCat, thank you for your suggestions. With our dynamic faction system, it is possible to create an unlimited number of fire departments throughout San Andreas and we should be able to assign them with tasks that are within their proximity. We will definitely have random fires and other events to keep firefighters busy. Our goal is to create jobs that are much more than just driving around without a purpose.
  5. It's getting really busy

  6. We are thinking of implementing wallets, that could only store X amount of currency. During a robbery, a player could be forced to hand over his wallet to the mugger. Briefcases could be used to store huge amounts of money and could aid players in making huge illegal deals (ex.: buying a shipment of drugs or illegal firearms), but those would probably be used by experienced players who would be already aware of the risks. Newbies will receive most of their starter money through their bank accounts, leaving little money in their wallet so they can hail a taxi or pay for other services.
  7. Administrative System The administrative system includes adminstrator ranks, duty mode, hijack prevention and other safeguards, ban and report systems. The goal was to create an efficient and convenient system with a low risk of abuse. [spoiler=Administrative System] Ranks In total, there are five ranks. A lower ranked administrators cannot remove their superiors from the server and may not have access to all commands. For example, moderators are only able to use penalty commands, such as, banning, kicking or jailing, but they cannot use commands that could be abused for cheating purposes, like healing, teleportation, etc.. Duty Mode While off duty, administrators cannot use most of their commands, but they still receive report notifications and can manage them. When an administrator enables duty mode, he is granted access to all commands and his nametag is changed to notify other users. Administrators are not allowed to play as normal while their duty mode is active to reduce the risk of command abuse. [spoiler=Administrator List] Ban System The ban system gives administrators the ability to choose a custom ban length. It also stores all data necessary to write an unban appeal and allows the user to copy an already filled form with a single click of a button (though he still needs to provide an explanation and his viewpoint). Report System Whenever a player submits a report, all administrators get a notification and that report is put into a report list. The oldest and high priority reports are always on top of the list, an administrator can change the status of a report so his colleagues can view the unattended reports. Once an issue is solved, the related report is deleted. [spoiler=Report Form] Inventory System We have started working on our inventory system. We are aiming for the best user experience, therefore, the UI will be drag and drop style. We are also planning to introduce a S.T.A.L.K.E.R style inventory capacity system. Each item will take up a different amount of space. For example, a bag of chips could take 2x2 inventory space, while an assault rifle could take 6x2 slots, because it is much bigger. We already have a foundation set for it, so more information and some media should be revealed in Development Blog #3. Taxi Job Work has been started on making the Taxi job. This will not be one of the first jobs that new players are going to work on, but it will be an important part of our server. The following has been done: Taxi request management - Taxi workers are able to see a list of requests, the position and the message of a specific request if those are provided by the client. Eclipse Games There was also some work done on the Eclipse Games server. We want this server to be up and running in the first days after when the GTA:Network client is released. This server will contain these gamemodes (new gamemodes will be added later): Protect The President Race Battle Royale Freeroam This week work has been done on lobby UI, merging Protect The President and Battle Royale gamemodes into one server and creating foundation for handling hundreds of dimensions and gamemodes.
