  1. Definitely understand your concerns on this. Looking into it a little further, I can tell you that you most certainly were not traced. None of the officers involved in your arrest even have the script ability to trace suspects. There are also several IC protocols in place when tracing is allowed and when it is not. I also can tell you from a glace that my hunch was correct, and one of the officers on scene of your initial arrest was also there when you were arrested for driving without a license. So just turns out to be bad IC luck for you in this instance.
  2. This seems like an IC issue to me. I very highly doubt that you were traced because of your suspended license. I can tell you that scriptly, police do not have a list of everyone who has a suspended license. Seems like your character just had a wrong place/wrong time type issue happen. More than likely, someone who was involved in your arrest happened to be at LSC and noticed you or your vehicle, and they remembered that you were recently arrested and had a license suspension. License suspensions were already cut in half recently as it used to be 48 hours. I think the suspension length is good as is for now. You don't get a license suspension every time you get arrested. There are certain IC protocols in when to and when to not suspend a license of someone.
  3. I'd lean more towards allowing multiple workers to place one barricade and speeding up the timer. For instance, if you have a barricade with a 300 second timer, and 3 people start it, it only takes 100 seconds to get it down and they all split the pay of that barrier. This will prevent the instances where people get nothing due to the number of workers being higher than the number of blockades, and also allow the incidents to be cleaned up faster (which would make sense that more workers = faster work). There could also be a bonus for all road workers who were on the incident scene upon it's completion. That way the new players who haven't figured out the full mechanics of the job don't end up wasting an hour without getting paid.
  4. -1/+1 While I don't disagree with the idea of being able to rob scripted money trucks, I have several issues with your idea. First and foremost, you're asking for a payout similar to a bank robbery, but the idea of having an armored truck having the same amount of cash in it as an entire bank vault is a little unrealistic. Also, saying there needs to be a limit on amount of units of officers being able to respond to these calls is a massive -1. Seems like you're simply looking for an easy way for a crim to get a huge payout without the same planning/tactics that go into a bank robbery. Realistically, if someone is robbing a vehicle carrying a ton of money, and two armed guards (using the video as an example) are taken down, cops anywhere aren't going to limit response to a unit or two. Now what I do think could make this work is a few options of robbing these trucks. You could brute force the robbery as seen in the video. This would alert the police immediately as there is obviously a large explosion/gunshots. Second option could be a more stealthier option of jumping onto the back of the truck and attempting to picklock it open, take the money, and leave without potentially being noticed. I also think it should be RNG as to what type of loot you could receive and weapons you could face from the guards. Maybe a truck carrying 10k has a solo driver with a pistol, but a truck carrying 60k could have a driver and and passenger, both carrying shotguns. I would also suggest making weapons lootable from the guards as well if they are taken down due to the risk carried out by those robbing the trucks. Could be a good way to get some heavier weapons into the hands of criminals who do not have an official gang affiliation.
  5. I would love to see a listing-style website that would list all properties for sale which updates automatically. This could potentially be accessible through a laptop which would give civilians use for an item which is essentially useless outside of official criminal factions & LEOs. There could be a "website" written with simple script to pull every property that is currently for sale at the door, and list it into a table type format. It would be similar to the MLS listings that are used in the US when selling a home or property. While these MLS listings can get very detailed on each property, A basic result is all that would be needed to benefit the community. Script could be updated in real-time or a few times a day. Devs could write up a short website header/background, and simply have something like the table below as the results. Once a home or property gets purchased or taken off of sale, it would be removed from this script and not appear on the website. Filtering could be allowed in order to filter only properties in a certain area (Los Santos, Paleto, Grapeseed, etc), Property Type (House, Apt, Other), Property Size (1G, 2G, etc).
  6. The fire department does in fact get a call when there is an incident involving a fire. Due to way fire is frequently desynced, they are there strictly for RP involvement, and the timer still must expire on the fires before the incidents can be fully handled. As far as police involvement, there is no reason that police would need to be involved in situations like these. The best they could do would be to set up scene management and control the flow of traffic. A large part of an incident worker’s job is to set the scene management. As noted in the above comment, incident workers are not an emergency service. They are there in order to clean up a scene.
  7. I believe this is already in place ICly. I recall reading that gas station owners are only allowed to be empty on gas for X number of days before fines/seizure from the licensing department. My main issue is those who log on simply to restock/collect their money and don't contribute to the server in any other fashion which I can't really think of a good way to track that ICly.
  8. While I 100% agree that there is a massive grind and money saving that generally goes towards becoming a scripted business owner (have been one in the past), I fail to see how it effects the server in a positive way when someone can simply log on once a week or so, take 10 minutes to place an order for gas (as an example), log off and continue to accumulate wealth on a server they don't play on. I also am not suggesting that if you don't log in for 5 hours every week, your business is stripped from you (was simply using a 5 hour minimum as an example from a faction). I think it needs to be taken into consideration by the server staff and determined if someone is contributing to/participating in the server or just accumulating wealth by logging in for a few minutes. In a typical business, an owner would have to manage employees, payroll, inventory, etc. Or they would pay someone to do it for them. This server script does not allow that, and all scripted businesses (except for loan companies) are completely self sufficient outside of placing an order of the product. If there's more I'm missing outside of that in which is required to run a business, then I apologize. In the past, when staff has offered up business properties for auction/raffle, they have noted that Inactive Players are not allowed to bid/enter. So there'd be no difference in my opinion of an inactive player winning an auction versus an inactive player "running" a business for 10 minutes per week.
  9. I feel that owners of scripted businesses on the server should be subject to similar requirements as those who serve in certain factions. With the limited amount of businesses with script support available on the server, there is no reason that an inactive player should be allowed to keep a scripted business if the only time that they log in is to restock their store, gas station, dealership, etc. There should be a minimum of 5 hours a week gameplay on the server (or something similar) to allow scripted businesses to be owned only by players actively playing on the server. Obviously, people will have OOC things that can prevent this at times. So, there should be a certain type of LOA system that could be implemented for business owners similar to those in factions as well. Potentially business owners could have a member of faction management staff that could oversee something like this.
  10. +1 on this if we're referring to buildings that are not houses (i.e. warehouses, non-scripted business properties, etc). I believe there is currently no system that puts these up for sale as Turtle mentioned above. The method he referred to is only for homes to my knowledge.
  11. Feel free to make a suggestion thread for that since it has nothing to do with this topic.
  12. I am in no way suggesting that the /ram command be available for anyone other than SWAT & FD. Standard Police Officers would not have access to shotgun's breaching rounds or a battering ram. Those are currently exclusive to Metro/SWAT and should remain that way. You said it exactly correct that the use of /ram is to gain entry to a property. I'm curious as to why you believe that placing an interior door would realistically cause a massive delay for a trained SWAT team by several minutes while they attempt to gain entry to a property? In a realistic situation, if a SWAT team is breaching a building and smashes through the front door, their element of surprise is gone (which is within their trainings a one of the most important factors in an operation). There is not one single SWAT team in the world that would spend the next 15 minutes carefully using another tool to open less secure interior doors. They would get them all down as fast as possible in order to gain entry and continue their operation in order to save anyone in danger or deter the target from being able to prepare once the initial breach is made. From the MD/FD side of things, do you feel it's realistic to carefully bolt cut a door open when there could potentially be people burning to death in the apartment building or having the fire potentially spread to multiple floors? No. They would axe the door down as fast as possible to asses the situation, put out the flames, provide medical attention, etc.
  13. As it currently stands, the only way for anyone (PD/MD included) to unlock an interior door is with bolt cutters. Yet, they have the ability to /ram open exterior doors by RP'ing things like breaching rounds in a shotgun, a heavy door breaching ram, etc. It doesn't make much sense to me that these tools would work on exterior doors (which are generally more securable with things like dead bolt locks), but would not work at all against a simple interior door. Most times when Government factions are using bolt cutters are during a breach on a building (ie: drug lab fire). Players are aware that locking one simple door can delay PD by several minutes as bolt cutters fail and break quite often. Many players place 1-3 doors between their exterior door until you are actually into their lab. This makes the RP scenarios involving any lab fires last incredibly long (I've been at several of them lasting well over an hour). Most of this time is spent simply waiting for doors to be bolt cut. I think it makes for very stale RP until the doors are opened and the actual RP can begin. In lieu of adding the /ram command to work on interior doors, I propose that bolt cutters at least be added to Government Factions that would use them through /fl.
  14. I would suggest adding something along the lines of a purchaseable tool kit at general stores that allows users to repair their vehicles on their own. These wouldn't be full repairs, but maybe would repair the vehicle just enough to be driveable. This would allow the owner to put a bandaid solution on their car and able to get it to the mechanics. Maybe increase the hp of the vehicle by 200 that decreases as it's driven and could potentially break down again if the person drives for too long or is too far from the mechanic shop.
