I think open and public discourse is the real way to implement change

Yes, tasers are too powerful and heavily abused by LEO factions, and I predict as a result they’ll be heavily nerfed soon. the amount of times I’ve had cops tase my tires out or tase me through my windshield is insane also completely ruins any kind of foot pursuit as they shoot a magic electric ball at you from any range that’ll automatically put you on the ground where they can insta- cuff you with no RP

Cap server FPS to 120 or add a 220 Speed cap
penguinkibble replied to Jay_Valentino's topic in Game Suggestions
+1 Recently just started getting a solid 300fps and I’m noticeably WAY faster in the same cars. I’m tired of having to demoralize PD every day and drive laps around them I think the FPS cap is a good idea, it’ll show us who can actually drive and who can’t -

I’ve personally tested this “urban myth” multiple times and it’s true. I’m surprised that a member of LEO like yourself hasn’t noticed that certain criminals and cops perform differently in the same cars, like how certain cops can get a steady 240kmph in a Buffalo and others can’t. you should try to be more observant -
Maybe a 10% less survival chance for every bullet you’re hit with, taking away the /Stabilize command. Explosion while inside car should be 0% survivability, pump shotgun as close range should be 50% survivability, etc. it’d be up to the developers but I’m sure we could come up with a decent mechanism

“There are no real consequences to dying” it’s the same consequences, minus having to tab out AFK for an hour in DOC. And it’s still more consequences than a cop would have dying, as they lose actually nothing. since we’ve seen a noticeable decline of crims playing this server, maybe LESS consequences is the route to go, as a death would get them back into the game faster. it seems you want to punish people OOCly because that’s all DOC is, (Tab out and Netflix) or just log off. this would make LEOs like your character want to de escalate situations like real police officers (as least amount of force as possible) so you can secure the arrest and not end up with a dead body.

Before I start this thread, I know death RP is not a thing, but death is scriptly in the game, and I think script should be written to introduce death from wounds, especially multiple gunshots, even if treated by EMS. For example, if a police officer unloads a magazine from a rifle into someone, they should have a very low chance of surviving that incident. I know the police officers won’t get the satisfaction of gunning someone down AND being able to arrest them afterwards, but I do believe it would add a layer of realism and potentially make the LEO factions less trigger happy, and they’d have to answer to their superiors about why a subject was killed. I have a character that was unloaded on by an officer today while he was handcuffed, the officer shot him 20ish times with a service carbine (.556). Being shot 20 times with a .556 is not a survivable event. As a former IRL paramedic, I’ve always found it ridiculous that you can be blown up in your car, riddled with bullets, and after 1 command (/stabilize) or 30 seconds of RP with an ambulance worker and you’re good as new. this will also curb the problem with police being shot by gangs, being rushed to the hospital, and 3 seconds later being able to come back and continue the same fight. The last paragraph also applies to gang shootouts, instead of them being able to be shot at a lab with heavy rifle ammo, rushed to the hospital by their fellow gang members, instantly stabilized, and returning to the fight, they should be dead and NLRd do to their severe wounds. I think a big reason we have so much brutal tactics from the LEO factions is because they have zero fear of accidentally killing you, they know they can ram your car until it blows up with you inside of it, riddle you with bullets, etc, and still be able to arrest you. I think this change would make both crim and LEO factions less trigger happy, and have more fear for their lives when engaging in dangerous activity.

I think there should be more city bee spawn locations and they should always be accessible, whether a taxi driver is logged in or not. I’m not sure if the Taxi drivers are the biggest salary farmers on the server, or if they just ignore calls, but the amount of times I’ve needed to get somewhere and can’t because I’m unable to rent a city bee is ridiculous. So you call a taxi, and even though there’s a driver online, you’ll sit there for 15 minutes without the driver accepting it and just end up walking. I understand the idea of wanting us to utilize taxi drivers for the RP opportunities, but unfortunately the taxi company is too unreliable to keep up with the demand and forces players to walk as they can’t rent city bees

- I think making City Parking a NCZ would be beneficial, as it would prompt people to hang out there and socialize, and meet other people. Also would stop random people from opening your trunk every time you unlock your car to get in it, and cut down on the 5-10 shootings a day there. - More government hosted events. Rally car races, fight nights, speed dating, etc. something that gets people to show up and interact with each other. - Give crims more to do to make money than cooking in labs, honestly cooking heroin being the most lucrative thing for crims to do is gross IMO. Increase payouts for non PVP crim activities like chopping cars, robbing stores, pulling ATMs etc. - Minigames would be cool, not sure about RAGE compatibility but being able to play golf at the course, or arm wresting, etc would be fun and interactive. - Add events that force LEO and crims to socialize and get to know each other outside of investigations. LEO vs CRIM fight nights would be awesome, and a good way to let out steam.

Name: Robert McCabe Date of Birth: March 17, 1937 Place of Birth: Billings, Montana Current Residence: Los Santos ⸻ Character Story: Robert McCabe grew up tough on the windswept plains of Montana. The son of a cattle rancher and a schoolteacher, Robert learned discipline, hard work, and loyalty from an early age. At 18, with the world on edge, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Fate and duty carried him into the chaos of the Vietnam War, where he served as a combat medic. There, amid the horrors of war, he met Joey Weiner, a brash but loyal fellow soldier who would become his lifelong friend. The two shared the kind of bond only men who’ve survived the unimaginable can understand. The war never really ended for Robert. He returned home with the visible scars of shrapnel and the invisible torment of PTSD. Despite this, Robert tried to rebuild a normal life. He trained as an electrician and became known around Los Santos County as a dependable, if gruff, tradesman. His small home in Paleto Bay, shared with his beloved wife MaryBeth, was a safe haven from the nightmares of his past. But everything changed in 2014. MaryBeth vanished without a trace. No body, no evidence, just rumors. Locals whispered that Robert had finally snapped, that MaryBeth’s final resting place was somewhere beneath the towering redwoods of Paleto Bay. The police never charged him, but suspicion followed him like a shadow. Now in his late 80s, frail but stubborn, Robert finds himself caught between survival and morality. The world has changed. The cost of living in Los Santos is brutal, and his pension barely covers utilities. His age and mental scars have left him unable to hold steady work. With mounting bills and no legal way out, Robert has turned to crime—not out of greed, but desperation. Smuggling, small-time arms deals, black market electrical work for gangs—he does what he must to stay afloat. His knowledge of wires, alarms, and security systems has made him an unlikely but valuable asset in the criminal underworld. Despite his criminal activities, Robert lives by a strict personal code: protect the weak, never betray a friend, and never harm the innocent. Joey Weiner remains his trusted partner, watching his back on the rare occasions Robert ventures into Los Santos itself. Robert McCabe is a relic of a bygone era: hard as nails, full of regrets, and driven by survival. Some see him as a dangerous old man. Others see a war hero fallen on hard times. Robert doesn’t care what they think. He knows one thing for sure—he’s not done yet.

Couldn’t find where would be most appropriate to share, so I’ll share here. I’d like this to be forwarded to any high command or sergeant in the Sheriff’s Department. I’ve had multiple run ins with Jaxon Hayes (most of them have been him arresting me) and he has been the most professional, well spoken, and kind police officer I’ve ever dealt with on the server, while sticking true to his duties and doing his job correctly. He takes the time to understand the situation, never belittles the criminal, and truly cares about making sure they have a positive RP experience. My character is an old man, Jaxon is often asking him how he’s doing, and doing kind gestures for him, even when nobody is watching. I didn’t know where to submit this, I see there’s an easy way to give RP feedback on the SD site, but this is more general feedback of the employee. - Robert McCabe

The Toros is the only SUV in the city that is a hybrid between an SUV and a supercar. It should be the best performing SUV in the city by far. The car is plenty fast, but the handling and braking are laughable. The Lamborghini Urus has 17" carbon ceramic brakes and it stops on a dime, it also is a beast at cornering. The GTA/ ECRP version feels like a boat. Extremely disappointing performance, especially given the price tag of 16,500 credits, which is hundreds of US dollars. I don't see many of them around the city, but every Toros owner I've met is equally as disappointed in the cars performance.

Some of my gripes with PD on this server
penguinkibble replied to penguinkibble's topic in Discussions
Don’t you think maybe there’s a lot of Crim vs Leo posts because there’s so many issues? And when it comes to the cars, police are supposed to be slower than crims, they make up for it with numbers, helicopters, communication, etc. And when it comes to “Super cars”‘I don’t mean cars that are classified as super cars by the game, I mean vehicles like Jugs or shinobis that have super car specs that there’s no reason for the police to have. looting cops wouldn’t make them a piñata, there’d still have to be escalation, and the criminal would still have to somehow kill the OP super soldier with 100% body armor. All you’ve done is reiterate the reasoning behind these policies but you haven’t acknowledged that they’re unfair. Yes, I understand the police can spawn BF400s because of the terrain, my argument is that it’s unrealistic and a suspect fleeing into terrain would make them very hard to spot/ catch. Use a helicopter and a radio. If a suspect is in a super car or a shinobi, maybe you just can’t catch them. Put a chopper in the air, put out a BOLO, and catch them via IC investigative means. Cops riding around on shinobis, dirt bikes, jugs, corvettes, twin turbo mustangs, with rifles and shotguns on their backs, magic tasers, and unrealistic levels of body armor is 100% the stupidest looking thing in this server. -
My gripe with law enforcement in this city: The Cars: it’s highly unrealistic for police officers to have access to super cars, and IRL, police are often in much slower cars than the suspects. Why do the police in this city have access to a maxed out Shinobi, that’s based off a 1200cc track bike with turbos slapped to it. Police have the advantage of helicopters, multiple units, radios, etc. That’s how you egg the playing field with high speed chases, Police officers riding around on super bikes, Dirtbikes, and 1000hp Jugs make absolutely no sense. Guns: Over the past few weeks, I’ve increasingly noticed more police officers walking around with fully automatic rifles on their backs. Not only is the rifle being fully automatic extremely unrealistic, but what police department has officers casually responding to calls with that kind of artillery equipped? They’re already equipped with high levels of body armor, to the point where a 1v1 gunfight with them is near impossible, I don’t see the need for them to casually be carrying these weapons without a long animation to unrack them from their cruisers. Also, having the script set up so criminals can’t loot an officers body or cruiser for their weapon is extremely unrealistic. Tasers: As if the 1000hp cruisers, the insane amounts of body armor, and the fully automatic rifles are enough, the tasers are absolutely ridiculous and make foot chases impossible. IRL, police call out multiple times before a taser is deployed, and the tasers OFTEN don’t work. (The leads get dragged by the wind, they don’t make clear contact with the skin, etc. ) police in this city have super tasers with long range and extreme accuracy that they deploy without warning to avoid any kind of foot pursuit, because god forbid they have to chase someone on foot and risk the chance of them getting away. Unrealistic pursuit maneuvers: Police in this city will put the public in danger, the suspect in danger, and use just about any dirty trick they can during pursuits and seem to have no fear for their own lives (The heavy armor probably helps that). Although I know it’s against the PDs policy, the amount of times I’ve been rammed off of my bike by a police cruiser is concerning and complete NRP. Lot’s of PDs won’t even pursue bikes, this PD has no issue risking everyone’s lives by trying to pit maneuver them at 200kmph A lot of people I meet in the city and have met over the past few years have either left the city, or fly in way less often because of issues of police being grossly overpowered and it makes the RP for criminals lackluster. I’d like to hear community thoughts on some of these topics or maybe here from some PD themselves.

I get away almost every time I run lol. Actually, the only times I haven’t is when some hot head rams my bike at 100mph -

“Pulls toward you to make you slow down and think about how you’re operating your vehicle” is crazy lol. I’m going to make a compilation of every time I’ve been yeeted off of my bike by reckless cops ramming into me during pursuits thanks buddy -

You tried to crash into me with your bike several times, I think you were frustrated you couldn’t catch me. Maybe post the other attempts too! PD cruiser also attempted to pull out in front of me from an opposing lane to crash me. Also, prison staff alerted me IC that you didn’t put any of my things in the locker. Nice bud. -
Almost every time I’ve tried to flee from the police on a motorcycle, the police have tried to pit maneuver and/ or crash into my motorcycle to end the chase. Today, I was evading on a motorcycle, and the police crashed into me with ANOTHER motorcycle. In what world is that realistic? IRL, both parties would be severely injured and/ or dead. This wasn’t a one off maneuver, I think the officers were frustrated that they couldn’t catch me, they attempted to ram my motorcycle with their motorcycle at over 100 miles an hour multiple times before being able to successfully do it and crash me. When bringing up the subject OOC, I was just given insults. Let’s hold our police officers accountable, and I suggest that we stick to more realistic pursuit tactics. Most police departments in the world won’t chase motorcycles, and the ones that do, definitely don’t pit maneuver, the motorcycle motorcycles with their vehicles, and other motorcycles. Extremely unrealistic and takes a lot of the fun out of running.
