You can also check out dyslexiafont. It’s a font designed for people with dyslexia that uses different shapes to help make letters more distinguishable. For the quiz you can type into word so you have spell check then retype it into the quiz (copy/paste is auto fail). Dyslexia won’t hold you back if you just find a way to unscramble the letters and can even be used as a tool (I read just as fast upside down as right side up lol). Good luck and don’t give up.

I believe the only way to fail that portion is to choose the incorrect answers (maybe a more senior member can confirm this). If you are told you get 10/10 and it immediately fails it’s a issue I can’t help you with. Are you informed of your score before you fail?

@Lou1ee Are you getting past the multiple choice section? It should tell you the number of correct answers. 9/10 etc...

@Lou1ee Are you failing the multiple choice section? If so you need to review the rules to make sure you understand them. Memorizing them doesn’t help unless you understand what they mean.

You can check the discord to get the current estimate but the last I saw was over a week.

I’m a new member here as well so all I can really say is what I’ve read in staff post while I was waiting. I know the quizzes are taken in order so if your friend was before you in time their application would come before you in the queue. You can check out the discord (I have a question section) and see what people are saying. It has pretty much turned into people updating when they applied and their current application status. Might give you an idea of where you would fall in the queue currently.

Was there a large time difference between when you and your friend signed up? Them in the morning and you in the evening? That’s the only other thing that comes to mind.

Assuming you meant the 19th. Have you made sure to check spam folders and such? Also you can log in and try to play the game. If your application is still pending it will tell you when you try to play a character (select character and click play). Just a couple things to try.

If replication of the real world is the goal why not set up government run low income housing? Certain apartment buildings could be set up with the restriction of only allowing rental contracts to people that are new to town. The income would then go to fund government agencies.

The quiz is done in game. Log in and you should be taken to the quiz.

I was accepted just under a week ago. It took about a week for my application to get reviewed but I did indeed get accepted so I doubt they are baiting people. Twitch has just caused a huge increase in interest.

Are the tickets allowed to go unpaid even if the individual has money in the bank? If so, why can't you simply pull the money from the bank account upon arrest. (I'm new and haven't gotten a ticket so not 100% on how they work)

Thanks for the tips. I'll keep them all in mind as I play especially the one about not always being a winner. I know it's odd for me (and perhaps other new players) to understand that this isn't a game to be beaten but a world to explore and a journey to be had. It's very different than a standard "beat x number of levels and you win" style game which is what drew me to it in the first place.

I've seen officers ask players to remove a mask in certain areas. Honestly though the nicest person I've meet IC was a guy wearing a mask and going by a single letter name lol. On a side note, I wore coverings over my face walking in and around a large university much of the time I attended (due to weather, smoke, etc) and was never once approached by a single officer. Long story short, masks aren't illegal even if they are suspicious.

As a new member of the community and a new roleplayer in general I feel like it's important to learn from those of you that have more experience. I plan to work my way up into the police force but want to experience everything I can along the way: DoC,EMS, etc. So my question for the more experienced members is... What can I do as a new LS resident to improve the quality of my RP and make sure that I can be a productive member of the community? I would like to reduce the number of mistakes I make and try to grow my knowledge and ability to the level needed for the RP heavy roles named above. Thanks in advance for any/all suggestions. P.s. I know this won't happen overnight so I'm not expecting to wake up in a few days and be amazing at RP lol.

I don't mean to get in the middle of this but I do have a question. If you are being chased and you break the speed limit you have technically engaged in criminal activity. However, IRL the police would not ticket you for such an action if it is clear your life was in danger. The same could be said about returning fire in a shootout if you have a valid weapons license, a legally obtained firearm, and the return fire was in direct defense of your life. How are these approached when criminal activity is considered?

I wasn't trying to attack the community with my comments so I'm sorry if it seemed that way. I just think the idea of prison feeling like a punishment for your actions is important to maintain balance. It's obvious that many players (new and old) simply have no respect for the police force. At the moment it feels a lot like the wild west where the cops are just hopelessly out numbered. Honestly it's just hard to be a new player (as you stated) and it's made worse when most of your interactions are people asking you to commit crimes (which I have no interest in currently) or being shot for $0 and an empty inventory.

5-25 weeks might be a bit harsh but I was thinking the same thing as I played (also a new player). It seems like it's just too easy to rob someone because you get a few thousand dollars then get arrested and spend 5-10 minutes afk before doing it all again. I do think that cold blooded murder should have an equivalent punishment otherwise you give criminals no incentive to RP unless they are in it for RP instead of money. I love your idea of the prison being a separate RP experience to allow punishments to be longer.

I like the idea but it would only be viable once people start to RP. The number of people that complain about being shot during a robbery with no RP coupled with a long respawn for each death would drive new players away. I came here because I want to RP and would love to see something like this in the future but new players (including myself) have a lot to learn before this could be successful. Just my two cents as a new player.

When I said report it I meant to the police in game but I completely understand your frustration. I reported an incident in game and was met with the "we'll look into it" response. In the moment it's hard to accept that and move on but the PD (much like the staff) are dealing with a flood of new players and it seems only 10% of the new players are interested in role-play. Feels a lot like GTA online at the moment but it will hopefully pass. On a side note I've started renting scooters to get everywhere and I carry absolutely nothing with me. That way when I do get robbed I'm a boring target lol.

If you have New Player above your head and haven't done anything to make a retaliation from the other player valid then the rule has been broken. (I though it was 1000xp when New Player went away but I could be wrong) I myself am a new player and have notice far more criminal activity than role-play. I'm trying to stay clean but have been asked several times to enter into criminal activity and have also been the victim of being shot for no reason as a New Player. Feels a little like the city is out of control at the moment. The best advice I can give is report the incidents and let the admins do there jobs. Hopefully the role-play aspect will come back after the community comes back into balance once the rush is over.
