  1. Hello, I think some critical context missing from this is that, in the United States at least, in real life, responses to major incidents go beyond the local law enforcement available in the area. In the U.S., when something major happens, literally everyone with a gun and a badge shows up. Take a mass shooting, for example (I won't give a specific example as it could be a sensitive topic for some, but you can easily Google one); the first on scene, unless some random agency happens to be nearby, in which case you can bet they'd drop everything to respond, is probably going to be your local police department or sheriff's department, maybe the state highway patrol or state police if they're in the area. They arrive on scene, hear automatic gunfire, and if any of their officers get injured or there's more than one armed assailant, really any reason to believe the situation requires more personnel, they are going to tell their dispatch they need help. The dispatch is then going to reach out to surrounding agencies, probably the State Police if they aren't already there, other counties in the area, etc., asking them to send their officers. The vast majority of law enforcement agencies in the U.S. have what are called mutual-aid agreements with surrounding counties, state agencies, and others that basically ensure they have resources to call upon in a time of need. But even without those, I cannot think of a situation where one department would not send additional resources. It doesn't stop there though, because for any number of reasons, such as they have a member on a joint task force with the local LEOs, dispatch or a department contact reaches out to them directly, they happen to have the channels for local law enforcement in their cars because they do so many operations with them, they hear the gunshots nearby, or they hear it on the news, local FBI, ATF, U.S. Marshals, DEA, DHS, USPP (if in a major city), even the U.S. Postal Inspectors or any other of the countless federal law enforcement agencies that the U.S. has, the vast majority of which have multiple locations (50+ each, the DEA has 241 alone) in cities across the country, are going to send their specialized response units to assist local law enforcement in neutralizing any threats to public safety. Speaking to California specifically, at the state level, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is literally one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the United States. Now, I know some may quibble with them being called law enforcement, however, their members are sworn-in peace officers of the state, meaning they have the same powers afforded to other law enforcement in the state, including arrest powers. Furthermore, they have specialized teams such as the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, some of whom hardly go to the prisons in their day-to-day activities and instead conduct operations across the state, not to mention the other specialized units they have. You can read about some of their involvement in investigations, raids, mass incident response trainings, and more by searching up "California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Law Enforcement Operations." So these highly trained people with equipment hear about a mass shooting where local LEOs are struggling because of the massive amount of hostiles with weapons, they’re going to show up, because in the U.S., every law enforcement agency shows up when needed.
  2. Not sure if it's been mentioned or is already a feature outside of factions, but business bank accounts where we can add people to them with certain perms, and then send money between them with like a routing number would be nice, also joint accounts for spouses/friends if they choose. I know factions have treasuries and businesses have like finance menus but perhaps something more available to those without factions and scripted businesses with more functionality. Perhaps also the ability to purchase stuff using faction/business "cards" where it doesn't take money from your personal account but the faction treasury or the business bank account.
  3. Anyone who's in a faction with property that has locking doors knows the struggle of running and then accidentally tackling the door, or worse 5 people doing it all at once. Because E is the default for unlocking/locking doors and if you want to run fast you're holding shift, I think it would be beneficial to alter the key combo to tackle from Shift + E to another key like F thats still in close proximity but as far as I'm aware does doesn't have any interactions that would take place while holding Shift or if they do less often then when running through a building. TLDR: Make tackling Shift + R/F/V/G etc, rather than Shift + E to stop tackling doors.
  4. I don't disagree about it being covered by something like NRP, I guess I shouldn't have mentioned DM specifically, I just did that because thats what speaks more about escalation, honestly I just think it should be clarified that its covered under some rule as my understanding of it now is that it's not at all. Whether that be NRP or DM or another rule, this suggestion is more about ensuring it is covered, again I should have been more clear about that and not said DM specifically.
  5. I initially thought it was covered, but it was explained to me that currently using Shift + E to tackle someone does not require any escalation whatsoever. Given the impacts it has on characters, I think it only makes sense that it be treated as any other physical assault or violence and require escalation in order to do so. People are constantly tackling people and knocking them down, and while I understand it maybe fun, its not at all realistic. I think adding this to the current DM rule or atleast clarifying that it falls under this rule would be incredibly beneficial and prevent all the unnecessary and frankly annoying excessive tackling that is occurring without any real reason. UPDATE on 12/28/23 after feedback I wanted to clarify that the suggestion for it to be covered under DM was just because thats what speaks to escalation for situations, but I understand it maybe better covered under other rules like NRP, I just think clarifying it to be covered under a rule as it isn't right now would be helpful.
  6. Yah I understand that is an option and I get it gives mechanics more thing to do, however it just isn't something realistically that people do. Also if no mechanics are on then theres essentially no way to do it.
  7. Apologies if this has been brought up before in a forum post, but not being able to tow boats is a really big issue. I understand why they didn't implement a tow truck for cars as people would just constantly steal them, but having the ability to tow boats would be amazing. There would be a lot more opportunities to use them as well if we were just able to tow them and not have to sail them everywhere.
