Each company is allowed to loan money to other players with interest. The money is automatically taken from the players salary when they collect it (20% to be exact). Companies have lending limits and interest limits. Meaning if you want to lend more money at higher rates, you need to buy the bigger companies. These companies have their own flashy office with a lovely view over Los Santos. If you're out of the office, a player can walk in and /buzz you via the intercom, meaning you will never miss an opportunity to sell your loans. You are only taxed on the money you make. For example, if you lend 100k to someone at 20% interest, they would be paying back 120k. You are only taxed on that 20k, just like in real life! Of course, you will need to be smart with your lending choices. Lending 50k to a new player who is likely to not play much or not at all would be a poor decision. Whereas lending say 300k to someone who is active would be a great decision as you are near guaranteed a return. It's down to you as the lender to work out who you lend money to, and how much. These companies will range in price, from 500k for the low limit offices, to 2m for the high limit offices. The cheapest office has a limit of 50k and 10% interest. Meaning you may issue loans of up to 50k per player. The best office does not have any limits, any loan amount at any rate, but it's not cheap. Your customers are also able to pay their loans back when they choose to, by simply walking into your office and paying an amount. You're also able to perform credit checks on players to see if they have any active loans, though it costs 1000 per check. So! Now you can finally afford that car you were trying to save for, or that house, it's all possible! Major Balancing: The Economy After this update you will notice a decrease in both prices and salaries. For example, we are going to have 40 cars that cost below $10.000 when before the update we only had 2 cars at a price of $9.000 or greater. This also means that housing and businesses will also experience the same effects. Our aim is to have a strong currency, balanced jobs and to get closer to a closed economy. The projected salaries of all jobs should be around $3.000 per hour and faction based jobs, that force player-to-player interaction and benefit the roleplay aspect of the game, are going to be more rewarding than solo-grind jobs. The increased strength of currency means that people who have property such as houses, vehicles and businesses will be dropped to a lower wealth category, which means everyone will pay less taxes, but if anyone decides to become a millionaire, know that we do not support the idea of having a lot of millionaires or making it easy to accomplish. On the other hand, new players will be able to buy a regular car or low quality housing like trailers and motel rooms in a rather short amount of time without having to grind money, but as they progress, purchasing a luxury vehicle or a larger house, a business will be more difficult. Luxury housing with enormous and beautiful yards, pools and other cool features will be priced extremely high so they remain very rare and valuable, same goes for super cars, though some of the best super cars in GTA V will be only obtainable through special Eclipse events. To elaborate more on what a closed economy is, it basically means that money cannot be spawned or deleted, it has to be stored somewhere and circulate hand-to-hand. There's a designated amount of money on the server stored in the government treasury, whenever you receive a salary, the money is taken from that treasury. Taxes are one way to fill the treasury and it is planned to give a player elected governor the ability to manage the government budget and to keep it balanced.

  17. Development Blog #8 Discord Facebook Twitter Game Panel Eclipse RP Release Yes that's right! As promised, this dev blog comes with the release of Eclipse RP. With the release, we also provide to you a changelog for any future development updates. The changelog will contain all modified, added, or removed features from the script that have been implemented (currently in-game) or otherwise. Eclipse RP Server Information (LINK) Registration Where can YOU register to play? Simply login with your forum account. If you don't have one yet, make one! Help Menu We don't expect anyone to know how to play based upon our several previous dev blogs, so if you want to know what commands and features are available to you simply press F5 in-game at any time. Basic Script Cleanup Script has been cleaned up and organized to speed up performance and reduce the amount of resources being used. This should increase the performance of players on the server as well as prevent any unwanted server/client crashes. More cleanups to be scheduled later on. Bug Fixing Our beta testing team did a good job at testing all our features and giving suggestions for the server. All of these bugs (not including GTA:N issues) have been stomped out by our development team and have been tested heavily to ensure every script works and is easy to use and understand for players. Bug Reporting Since the server was just released, we encourage all players to report any bugs they find so they can be fixed ASAP. We have tested all features of the script thoroughly but there is a chance there are some bugs left so please do this to help make Eclipse better. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Players may get a license to operate a personal/commercial vehicle through the DMV. More information on this can be found on the Eclipse Network Update #3 . Weapon Shops Players may purchase a gun permit and a certain set of weapons for their self protection. Careful, if you use your permit wrong you'll get it suspended and may not get another one! [spoiler=Images] Vehicle Insurance When you buy a vehicle you will need to insure it. Go to one of the many locations across the map to get an insurance broker. [spoiler=Images] Vehicle Rental Rental cars are placed in common locations on the map. If you don't have a license, you are limited to a certain amount of km. This will be a very important feature for all new players, especially when trying to get around to find a first job and eventually make enough for a first car of their own. [spoiler=Images] Warehouses Warehouses are now available across Los Santos. A warehouse allows a faction / player to store weapons, drugs and vehicles. Warehouses range in price depending on location and size, with the warehouses closer to the city center being more expensive and those on the outskirts being cheaper. To order a shipment of weapons, drugs or vehicles, the owner / faction leadership will place an order, these orders vary in delivery times (12-48 in game hours). When ordering a shipment, you are able to select the quantity, the more you buy, the cheaper it will be (up to 25% discount). Once the order is placed, you will have to wait for it to be delivered. The owner / faction will be alerted about the delivery location of the order 4 hours (in game time) before it arrives, this gives you time to prepare. Once the order has arrived, you will need to unload the weapons / drugs / vehicle from the shipment container, placing them into a truck trailer or several vehicles. Once you arrive back at your warehouse, you unload the contents. You are then able to withdraw the contents of your warehouse to do as you please. When your shipment arrives, it is completely up for grabs, meaning any player or faction can steal your shipment. Be careful of informants and spies, as knowing your enemies shipment locations will play a big part in gang rivalry. [spoiler=Images] In-game Faction System The in-game Faction System has been fully implemented. Anyone may open the tab by pressing F4 on their keyboard. The faction menu has numerous amounts of tabs, buttons and features with a sleek look. Players may request invitation to a faction, view factions and create and manage their own faction with support for division, group and rank control. Police System (LSPD) The first version of the LSPD faction has been fully implemented. Prior to this, there were small systems in place for getting uniform, cuffing, dragging and using active MDC (scans for vehicles in front of cruiser). For release the script has been completed to a stable version. This release includes a regular MDC for an officer to create/view police units, send out/respond to back up requests (and 911s) and assign cruisers to their unit. The MDC also has functionality to search for person/vehicle records. Police can issue tickets which can be paid at LSPD reception. He has been our "secret" closed Alpha tester and has been helping us by looking for bugs and ensuring everything is working well. You may also press F2 to turn on your cursor and click on a player to view their individual stats and be able to private message them. [spoiler=Screenshots] Player Interaction Menu This is an improvement to quality of life on the server. Players may start using the interaction menu by pressing CTRL + X. Hover over a player or vehicle and RIGHT CLICK to perform interactions like following, job commands such as handcuff for police and repair vehicle for mechanic. [spoiler=Screenshots] The Mechanic Job Will most likely be a first job for many players. As players want vehicles, their vehicles need maintenance. This is where the Car Mechanic comes in to repair bodywork and engine and paint your vehicle to desired colors. [spoiler=Screenshots] Mining A lot of the server's resources come from raw material such as rocks which are then shipped to manufacturing plants and then to businesses as their stock. [spoiler=Screenshots] The Police System This is a very unique approach we are going for, with little need for police roleplay interactions. Other than communications, police have the ability to cuff a player if they are close enough, drag them if they are cuffed and arrest them at the precinct. Dragging will make the player follow the dragger, and in/out of their vehicle as well. No more disagreement between players/cops, an arrest can be done forcefully - if you are close enough and behind the player. If you aren't, well, there's probably a reason such as the player is resisting arrest. [spoiler=Screenshots] Uniforms for police officers, garbagemen and paramedics. [spoiler=Screenshots] Vehicle Dealerships added! Pretty self explanatory for players, go to one to buy a vehicle. Owners of the vehicle dealership can manage it's prices and stock.
