Auctions/Raffles (plus IC RP) for non-super vehicles

Instead of only having rare auctions for supercars, we should have regular auction for non-super, but perhaps still niche vehicles, along with some meaningful RP instead of just introducing those to the general population via dealerships.

The recent Patriot mil-spec would fall perfectly in this, and there can be some RP around it as well, for example:

"There has been a recent shipwreck of a ship containing military surplus items off the western coast. Due to the recovery efforts of the LSCG, we were able to recover four military spec'd patriots. There will be a raffle for these, where four winners will each obtain a vehicle"

While the mil spec patriot isn't overpowered, it is still unique and gives the playerbase niche goals to achieve (as some players will definitely want the mil-spec). Perhaps with every GTA DLC a single model is chosen to be introduced in limited quantity?

There are dozens of vehicle models along various classes which would easily fit into such a scheme, and this would make the economy quite a bit more interesting, and keep players engaged and hooked on the server.

Isn't it like 300-400k currently though? That's chump change in our economy for a car.

Not really sure why you'd need to auction that cost of car.

Cost is set arbitrarily; mil-spec was an idea as it's quite unique and falls outside of the typical vehicles. The idea is to add more desirable vehicles and an entire collector's market based on limited stock.

+1 I think this is a really good idea, I can see some fun RP stemming from situations like the one proposed.  I also like the idea of limited stock vehicles, it would add more desire to win the auctions.

Really want some limited edition/stock vehicles to be added would spice up the RP car scene in the server and could also create a new slice in the economy

People are already doing raffles of small vehicles often ICly. I don't think it's necessary to do raffle or auction of small vehicles.

This seems like something that could be handled ingame by a player that wants to start an auction house up.
