Shining0103 Posted August 24, 2021 Report Posted August 24, 2021  Resentment Tap...Tap...Tap... That’s what was filling the Noodle’s house room, for the first time in months. The light sound of the footsteps resonated between the walls, the wooden floor slightly crackling beneath her feet. The sizzling of the pans had stopped, no shouts could be heard coming out of the kitchen as soon as the orders kept coming in, no people murmuring between each other during meetings. The seat in the middle of the room was left empty. Still walking around, her finger slowly slid on the sides of the blade in her hands, the black bandana that usually hid her face was already pulled down her neck; after all, "no masks inside Noodle". She softly chuckled between herself as that clear yet so far away thought crossed her mind. If people listened well enough, they would've understood even the part about not bringing guns inside or on the roof, which multiple times led to unpleasant (yet funny, somehow) visits of PD, but that was another story.  Leaning against the table, she folded her arms up to her chest,   "Family..and look where they are now."  Since she had left the Order to take some time for herself, using the time spent in China to re-build some of her old friendships and businesses, things in Los Santos were going downhill at a surprising pace. Coming back to check up on her people, she quickly discovered how everything went to ashes. The Little Seoul community slowly went back to its original state, as other gangs started to flood in what used to be FSO’s territories. When businesses started shutting down their doors, the life in Little Seoul came back to its quietness. Not even the bigger gangs were around anymore after the conflict: no more Aztecas, La Familia Michoacana, or even their allies, Daichead GadaĂ, who as far as she was aware, proudly fought against what she would’ve defined the “leftovers”. Her long-gone gang members, who used to wear silky bombers, were now being covered in blue, flooding in Jamestown street along with those who used to be their enemies. Someone could’ve argued that both sides had their losses, and it was (finally) time to put the anger aside...but not for her Those thoughts started feeding once again the burning feeling at the bottom of her stomach.  The sound of the knife being stuck in the middle of the table broke the silence in the room, the blade going into the wood for a couple of inches. Raising her hands, she slowly lifts herself up from the table, walking behind what used to be her chair. Chi. Picking up her phone, Ling started scrolling quickly down her contacts. Couldn't help herself from sighing at the sight of a few of the names down the list, none of them labeled, but memories with or about them still vividly playing in her mind. Found the contact, it took her only a couple of seconds, frenetically tapping on the top of the screen. "The city is quiet without my family. I miss you, lowkey." It wasn't typical for Ling to show affection towards the people she cared about, or at least, not in this way. And in some ways, she didn’t even deserve to miss her “family”, cause herself being too harsh, mouthy, and hot-headed was what probably led to the Order’s fall. Touching someone’s fragile ego was enough to start a war, apparently, ans she still wasn’t over it. It didn't matter anyway, or at least, not anymore. Pocketed her phone, she looked behind for a couple more seconds, her sight bouncing from seat to seat while the ghosts of her friends started making their way once again into her mind. Locking the door behind her, Ling stood for a few seconds in front of the Noodle House's door, tossing the keys back and forth between her hands. The consciousness that all of those messages would've been left unanswered started settling down at the bottom of her chest. It was time to move on.  The sound of the footsteps on the asphalt started fading away in the night. Once and for all. ______________________________________________ Any previous story can be read in the old The Four Seas Order thread. https://forum.eclipse-rp.net/topic/45260-the-four-seas-order/ _______________________________________________ After spending many months working on (mainly RP-based) Ling's character, I had for some time the idea of talking about the events that build-up to her leaving FSO and distancing herself from the criminal world, maybe with some further developments and projects I had with an asian-related business. But I recently realized that none of this stuff is compatible with what I want to pursue on my main (PD) character or my current interests. Ling’s arch is officially done as it is now and this is my final love letter to it, which had been written months ago but never published, leaving things left on-hold. Joining any other faction with it would go against (her) ideas, attitude, and past affiliations, going towards the gang-hopper path, which is not what I ever aimed for. Everything that’s written in this and eventual stories regarding her own development are NOT related to other criminal factions nor are ever meant to be taken on a Out-Of-Character level. My character’s feelings do not reprent my personal view and opinions regarding the current factions’s leaders, which I always showed respect for. However, I do not plan to come back to the criminal community any time soon, and if I do, it will be with a different character depending on the circumstances. Thank you for reading. 12 1 Quote

ComradeCorbyn Posted August 24, 2021 Report Posted August 24, 2021 I really like reading and hearing about previous Asian-American gangs in LS, both IC and OOC. Triads and the Four Seas Order are just a couple of the most interestingly developed gangs in the city, and still watching these remnants be tied up is incredible. I really felt what you said about having to retire the character because hopping factions just wouldn't be who she is, because I feel the same way about my character. Really cool stuff and will continue to enjoy reading about the RP done in the older Asian-American gangs. 1 Quote
