Austin Jonas
POKER FIX/UPDATES As a fan of Poker, I feel there are some adjustments needed. I encourage all people who enjoy Poker in the community to speak up and leave a comment or suggestion to get the ball rolling on this one. These are only ideas and they are not perfect. Please feel free to add any constructive thoughts! Here are a few issues: Split pots don't split properly During a 1v1, aka heads up, if a player is all in, the other player can continuously bet for no reason No time limit when it's your turn Have to spam 'Y' to get a seat if it's busy Character models constantly moving/twitching/glitching through chairs/squeaking shoes/not facing table Playing options (raise, check, call, fold) disappear if you press ESC button during your turn Flushes, straights, and river wins come up nearly every hand (not sure if this is intentional or by chance) Hands should not be counted to 6 cards but should be counted to 5. Ex. both players have a flush, the kicker should not be counted. ATM outside of Tequilala is usually empty. When all people involved in a hand are all in, the hand instantly ends to which you either win or lose. When you lose, it instantly stands you up and you're unable to see what cards were drawn on the table. When someone loses all their money, they are instantly kicked off table and all the other remaining players on the table don't know what cards the losing player(s) had. Suggestions: Hand timer! Some players go AFK during the game. We shouldn't need to call an admin, but instead just have their hand folded when the timer has expired. Have the player list in chronological order so it matches the table order Make player list more visually appealing (smaller, have a separate space for cash, bet, and pot) We should be able to join a queue so people don't need to spam 'Y' to join a game. When a seat becomes available, first person is seated Remove 30 second join time between hands if queue is implemented Have Low/High stakes poker tables. Ex. $50k max limit to join low stakes table and $50k minimum to join high stakes table. You can't put someone with $5k and $500k next to each other on a poker table. Heads Up table. 'Bingo' is what some players do when they raise a predetermined amount before the flop and will play the hand out through checking. When you make a call and a player after you re-raises, it should give you the option to call showing the amount difference. Ex. I Call $200, player after me raises to $600, I should then have the option to call with $400 instead of $600. Need to be able to customize bet amount. If players want to bet a specific amount, they should have that option. Increase limit on ATM outside of Tequilala. Big money changes hands quickly at poker and it would be nice to have players not needing to go to the bank each time. Have ALL the cards remain on screen for 5-ish seconds after a player loses their money so they can have some sort of justice in understanding why and how they lost. I've heard some talk going around town that there might be a casino update some time soon. If that's the case, now may be the time to make considerations for the future of our beloved game. Jleoni
The single biggest gameplay issue is 1) (regarding split pots). Also, in regards to point 8, it's 7 card poker not 6 as you said, and regardless this is something you can take into account when playing. If you look at the forum players have been bringing up these issues for years now, and it seems nothing will be done unfortunately.
Ash
+1 Just a bunch of quality of life changes to make poker that little bit more enjoyable. I really like the queue idea since this is meant to be a legal gambling venue and not some shady gambling ring so more order makes some sense. I also really like the high and low stakes tables idea, let the big boys play with other big boys for higher stakes. Also on the topic of poker, would love to see the buy-in price for poker in prison to be severely reduced from 1500 stamps to at most 500 (how many you come into prison with). Or have a way to utilize bank money instead of just stamps if it was to stay high. Edited November 25, 2020 by DrPathetic
branning12
+1 Fixing the poker issues and improving the UI would no doubt be an amazing thing to add. While on the topic of poker, would be awesome to actually be able to buy a poker table either from the furniture store or local stores and set them up in your house so you and yours friends could have a "poker night."
