Bouncer Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 Hello, I'm new around here so I don't know if this has been brought up before or if there's any interest but here it goes (disclaimer Achieved) There is a bail bonds office in Paleto Bay that gave me the idea of trying to establish a bounty hunter establishment. The basic idea is that if there are serious charges a character can call bail bonds office for a loan (dunno if actual money needs to be transferred) to the city hall to release the prisoner with the agreement that he would show up for court, if he doesn't then bounty hunters are cleared to go out and drag him back to jail with additional charges (fleeing, evasion, whatever). I understand that this idea is still less than half-baked but I though it would be a good way to introduce myself to the forums. Let me know if there is any way to implement this on the server as I understand that there would need to be a registration and be whitelisting for this particular job. 2

I would love to see this, I would love to do this if law enforcement doesn't work out for me!
🅳🅾🅾🅱🅸🅴 Posted September 27, 2017 Report Posted September 27, 2017 This should be moved to Suggestions, This is a great idea. In real life there is bail bondsmen / bounty hunters who do have backgrounds, and felonies. Ex : Dog the bounty hunter It would be great to have this type be a real faction, with organization and rules to follow. Allowing civilians with felony backgrounds but having the proper requirements become a bounty hunter / Bail bondsmen. 1

Elsie M. Maye Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 A bail bond is a form of bail payment provided on a defendant's behalf by a bail bond agent. When defendants use a bail bond agent, they pay the agent a fee and the agent acts as a surety, telling the court that they will pay the full bond amount should the defendant fail to appear at court.
ChuckM Posted August 2, 2019 Report Posted August 2, 2019 Until law offices and the courtroom are open this wont be necessary but I would love to see it work!

Allowing civilians with felony backgrounds but having the proper requirements become a bounty hunter / Bail bondsmen. Just for clarity, felons can't write surety bonds, but they can bounty hunt in some states. Every bond company is backed by a Surety company, which does an in-depth background check prior to allowing the specific agent to write any bonds. This is why you never actually see Dwayne Chapman write (sign) the physical bonds, it's always done by his sons and/or wife. Also, the side note of a bail bonds company is if you can't acquire the individual to get them back for court in the predetermined about of days set by the court, you are then liable for the bond. Without the functionality of the court system, hearings, attorneys, and judges, it's hard to implement a bail bonds company since there's nothing for them to show up to. I think step one, before this can be a possibility, is we need to work towards a court system of some sort.
