AtwellMP
This will be a quick write up seeing as there isn't a whole lot to discuss but in my opinion when trying to rob somebody or attempting to get their hands up you should have to say more then just " hands hands hands hands hands " it sounds silly and doesn't really feel like RP and more of the person aiming the gun trying to get their word in first so they can ensure they are the ones in control over the situation. There is also plenty of people with accents on this server and it can be hard to understand them when they say hands as fast as they can. I feel a complete sentence makes a lot more sense like how PD does it for example ' Put your hands up " or " Let me see your hands " Its way more clear , it feels more realistic then someone just running up to you yelling " hands hands hands hands " especially if your back is turned to said person Anyone care to share their thoughts ? Lucius.D
I don't disagree, but at that point, its just poor RP. And we can't thought police poor RP. If the overall encounter was not enjoyable, I guess just /ooc or PM them later"Hey, I get you're ok to do this? But you're RP is kinda poor, and I think you'd benefit from fleshing it out some." I agree with you and I feel like that's a problem with certain people who are more interested in "winning" (obtaining items through robbery) then the actual robbery itself. I have two characters and they are both Crims and majority of the time the demands and/or RP comes down to who says hands as fast as they can first. AtwellMP
I also wanted to credit @JayGamble for always being creative with his demands and RP
Lucius.D
That being said, Fear RP and DM rules are very strict in their interpretation, and all RP can be thrown out the window if you don't draw first. If you don't draw, point, and demand, you can't guarantee your target is a cool dude, or some other pissed off idiot.

Lucius.D
Because the rules are so defined (And to be honest, its been shown they need to be) People have determined the absolute minimum required to be considered 'legal' and anything more than that is just a risk. AtwellMP
Just now, Lucius.D said: Because the rules are so defined (And to be honest, its been shown they need to be) People have determined the absolute minimum required to be considered 'legal' and anything more than that is just a risk. Well the amount of times per day a DM punishment appeal is filed I agree with you here. Also agree with the point that they are doing the absolute minimum RP to keep it "legal" and ensure them self being the ones in charge of the situation
Msato
Hello, talking on behalf of the official gangs I'd like to say that most of us don't run around with the "hands hands hands" mentality. I'd also like to add that it is not just criminals who falmnudner this, there have been numerous occasions where police officers run in screaming hands or get shot. Overall the hands mentality will unfortunately be hard to change, I've been there and done it myself so I'm not acting innocent. Perhaps when more unique areas are added for criminals to make actual asset gain etc the hands mentality will move away. Cheers.

alexalex303
I think the thread greatly illustrates the main causes of this, specifically the DM/FearRP rules which are very inflexible right now plus the fact that criminals have very few avenues for cash income. It really says a lot when farming makes you more money per hour than any other activity (including drug manufacturing). If both of those things were to change, we could see the symptom (i.e. people running around shouting "hands") as well, but until then, I wouldn't expect it to. It feels like every robber isn’t RP’d, it’s just people shouting hands over and over first so they can be in control of the robbery. I do understand that a robbery in itself is RP but it’s very poor. At the same time though if the FearRP and DM rule were altered it could turn into a shootout at every robbery depending on the change
Lucius.D
And god forbid the subject tires to RP, if they don't type fast enough, they get reported for stalling. Or shot for 'not following demands'.

I’ve had similar situations where I was trying to RP and type and was shot in a 3 second countdown
