Ritchie Stones Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 We as a community arent doing enough to get in touch with the new players, we ignore them. And we should be picking them up. Guiding them, please suggest any ideas. Its been like this for manny years and its so over looked. I believe we lose at least 50 to 70% of new flights because they have no way to go nor understanding, they dont feel belongingness in the city 2 Quote
Ash Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 Something I have done a lot is if I see a new player asking them if they want to ride about with me. I’d take them to get kitted out in a new outfit, take them around hotspots and some of the easier intro jobs and inform them if they plan on doing crime there’s no coming back IC if they wanted to be a cop on that character. Just generally giving them a tour and eventually buying them a shitty starter car and taking them to a mechanic for visual mods and telling them how to repair and park etc. i don’t think I’ve ever had negative feedback when doing that and more people should do it, it’s super fun way to meet new people and get people a bit invested. 3 Quote

NinerTwoGolf Posted December 10, 2025 Report Posted December 10, 2025 New Players are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. I'm sure everyone has had, for better or worse, very notable encounters with New Players. I will say the most terrified for my character's safety I've been was when a white Warrener stacked 4 deep with all new players pulled up beside me. And as someone who was there once and still remembers it, I am very fortunate I found someone willing to engage with me and show me what lies in ECRP just under the surface. I will add if you are going to engage with these new players, make sure you are teaching them good habits, and be patient. They are getting hit with a fire hose of information and who knows which RP server they were watching on YouTube before joining Eclipse. Help them get on a path that will keep them around, and not just have them get frustrated or worse, administratively punished. Quote

I believe we lose at least 50 to 70% of new flights because they have no way to go nor understanding, they dont feel belongingness in the city I don't think the problem is the people in the community. I am quite new and I found almost everyone goes out of their way to help you as a new person. The problem is often people can't help you as you are just running around on your own somewhere, or people are whizzing by in their cars, and you don't know the question to ask for them to even help. You are instead just wondering what is going on, what youre supposed to do. I don't know if its possible but some tutorials on the basics of things would help, how parts of the roleplay work, what you can do and what you cannot do and more examples needed of roleplay scenarios. This not only helps people from not breaking the rules, but shows them the interesting things you can do that they otherwise wouldn't know about, and wouldn't think to ask. I understand many things are expected to be learnt in game but i think some things need explaining more. There is another idea I have, which is maybe every new person who joins could be automatically added to some kind of starter faction just for new people, on arriving (and people can opt out if they wish), and in that there is more resources to help and people who volunteer to assist new people once they arrive. Rather than just being plonked at the bus station and then left to wander around guessing. Quote

padpilot Posted yesterday at 04:50 AM Report Posted yesterday at 04:50 AM New players are the best on the server, always have been. I agree 100% we could always be doing more to help them out. Last couple of days ive been sending them on little missions (all crim related, after making sure they wanna be a crim that is) and they seem to really respond to it. Hopefully its enough to see them coming back. Sometimes just getting paid to spray paint a wall is enough. 1 Quote
