RustyOsprey2 Posted November 2, 2025 Report Posted November 2, 2025 (edited) Who is the suggestion for? Literally everyone. Crim and LEO would all benefit. Why is the suggestion being made? Far to much metagaming happens with the usage of the scoreboard. If you see an ID and want to see who it is, just check the ID. If you see someone you think might be an undercover? Just check XP. What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion? PROS: Will reduce a good amount of meta gaming possibilities. CONS: Cant really think of one as ive never seen the XP counter being used for anything other than metagaming. If there is something im unware of tho, let me know. How should the suggestion be implemented? Just keep the scoreboard and remove the XP counter on it. Edited November 2, 2025 by RustyOsprey2 3 Quote
Booz Posted November 2, 2025 Report Posted November 2, 2025 That’s actually a great idea, because people keep checking your EXP whenever they’re around you, which just leads to metagaming and unnecessary comments. Some even start saying things like “you’ve got this much EXP” or “your EXP is too low for that,” which is honestly just nonsense. Quote
Quietthecutie Posted November 2, 2025 Report Posted November 2, 2025 +1 idk why the scoreboard even exists except for metagaming/playercount Quote
MateiC Posted November 2, 2025 Report Posted November 2, 2025 I’m in a -1/+1 on this. I’ve used it in situations where I am already suspicious of a player either cheating or ban evading. There’s been way too many encounters recently where once I heard someone on frequency being pushed/died to someone, check their XP we can see they are 10-15k XP, so we decide to rather report it than further continue any sort of “RP” with that person, and in mostly all of the instances we were right to do so. It makes it clear as day what they’re on. On the other hand I also see what you are saying that people may use it for MGing, though I doubt anyone keeps a spreadsheet of people’s XPs to know who they are. 1 Quote
astrx Posted November 2, 2025 Report Posted November 2, 2025 In all honesty I don't really understand why the scoreboard is a thing. Seeing a player count is rather pointless and doesn't really gain anything from it being there. The only reason it is there is to see player count, and your experience points. Both are pointless where you can just do /stats to see your experience points if you're really bothered about it. 3 hours ago, MateiC said: There’s been way too many encounters recently where once I heard someone on frequency being pushed/died to someone, check their XP we can see they are 10-15k XP, so we decide to rather report it than further continue any sort of “RP” with that person, and in mostly all of the instances we were right to do so. The issue I have with this is that although yes, sometimes there can be issues with lower EXP players, that does not mean that you should cease any and all roleplay with a player based on their EXP count. Although you are more than entitled to utilize the /report system and I encourage it, try not to cut roleplay ties with someone just because of a number. Quote
