Nettz Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 This new UI is cool, and it looks very nice, but I've already had problems accidentally hitting while trying to open my inventory {I}. I know this will become very irritating accidentally opening that menu while trying to access my inventory. I'm not sure what key would be better, but something more out of the way would be nice (like how the tackling keybind was changed) 2 1 7 Quote
Rage. Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 Either some sort of F key (F9, F8, etc) or a double-keybind like ctrl + u would be way better imo! 1 3 Quote
Mikazuki Ueno Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 I haven't had any issues. It's a different key. I just.. press the right one. 7 1 Quote
Jay_Valentino Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 This is a great addition to have all commands in one place but as Nettz said it should be moved to a different key or a Double find such as Shift+any key, Alt+anykey or even to one of the F numbers. 42 minutes ago, Mikazuki Ueno said: I haven't had any issues. Just because you type with your index fingers doesn't mean other people wont have any issues with this new addition, its new but furthermore its something to easily hit when trying to access your inventory. Its like when the tackling got added and went through like 4 key changes until they found one everyone liked. comment was unnecessary and unhelpful. 2 1 1 Quote
Mikazuki Ueno Posted July 18, 2024 Report Posted July 18, 2024 Hey Jay, I appreciate your perspective. I shared my experience and feedback, not dismissing anyone else's issues. The keybinding change clearly affects different players in various ways, and finding a universally preferred setup is important. Constructive dialogue like this helps us all find the best solution. 2 Quote
Joshington Posted July 21, 2024 Report Posted July 21, 2024 +1 This feature makes the game feel clunkier than it is intended to be! Quote

Dola Posted July 21, 2024 Report Posted July 21, 2024 +1 Let us choose our own keybinds for it and for the tackling. I still somehow manage to accidentally dive mid fight 1 Quote
Tuco666 Posted July 21, 2024 Report Posted July 21, 2024 + 1 for choosing our own key bindings +1 for changing the UI to shift + u Quote
Shwy Posted July 24, 2024 Report Posted July 24, 2024 +1 When I hopped on the server after a while I was constantly accidentally in that menu Teejay is so smart and cool and sexy for suggesting this Quote
Clank Posted July 25, 2024 Report Posted July 25, 2024 Yall gotta get your hand-eye coordination game up I don't mind the hotkey, Just gotta be careful not to mis-input. Quote
Xoza Posted July 26, 2024 Report Posted July 26, 2024 Change it to the [~] key (to the left of the [1] in the number line. Currently it's players, but that could probably also be merged into this menu, or attached to it.. 1 Quote
Mpache Posted July 26, 2024 Report Posted July 26, 2024 U is basically a perfect bind for it IMO Stop fat-fingering inputs, if you struggle with it then you have to slow down with your keypresses. So, -1 for that one. With that said, the ability to customize keybinds would be great. So, +1 for that one. 1 Quote
Zion Willard Posted July 26, 2024 Report Posted July 26, 2024 +1 The proximity of U and I has little to no impact on legal characters - but is very problematic for crims. Criminal characters need to go into their inventory extremely frequently (generally in stressful situations, exacerbating the issue) and the proximity of u and i makes it extremely easy to fat finger. 2 Quote

Tuco666 Posted July 26, 2024 Report Posted July 26, 2024 Make it in a way where you cannot open the menu while your inventory is opened. 1 Quote

Jay_Valentino Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 (edited) +1 Made a comment on the matter before but after playing with it i can see how useful it could be. If unwilling to change it to a different key, then allow us to re bind hotheys or have it so when you press "U" to open it allow us to press "U" again to close it so its the same as opening and closing your inventory. Or allow people to disable it using a command if it interferes with their roleplay experience... Or have or so it cant be opened at the same time as a player inventory is open. Or two binded button such as Ctrl+U Edited July 27, 2024 by Jay_Valentino 2 Quote
awp8883 Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 and/or allow it to be closed by pressing U again instead of having to hit esc Quote
