fixing a car without needing the owner to do it.

In my opinion you should be able to fix a car you have the keys for. If that isn't enough maybe needing to provide car owners name, last name and phone number.

It really bothers me when your friend is offline and you can't do anything about the broken car...

+1 As a mechanic, the amount of times I've had MR's and got there, gone through the whole routine of checking ID, Blacklist, RPing invoice etc only to find out they don't own the vehicle....

I would say, only allow this to those who have a perm key.

If this is possible, I would LOVE this. Both my characters, would be bringing their spouses' cars in for repairs as surprise gifts for them all the time!

I think it would be very possible. I think the reason it hasn't been implemented is to stop orgs having a "pool" of cars that everyone has keys to and can pull. repair and use as they see fit like a glorified hertz even if the actual owner has not been active in quite some time.

that is what i was exactly thinking... maybe a new script added where you can share ownership vehicle/house with one or 2 other people so at least they can fix it and or even sell it like in the case of house... just brainstorming and wondering if that is difficult to implement

It feels like you could just add the Player ID into the command like /mechoffer [ID] [Work code] [LaborCost], giving it a range so that a typo doesn't have someone across the city receiving an invoice.

Would be nice, I've tried to be a good husband and take my wife's vehicles to get washed and refueled when she is busy as a pleasant surprise only for some Yahoo to crash into me and make the whole gesture mute.
