Does the suggestion require developer support?: Yes Describe the suggestion: I would like to suggest to change the script in the way to allow moderators+ to change names of players in format Firstname_LastName (letters in the last name can be capital). In this way it's still going to disallow people to changing their name to JhOn_DoE (only moderators will have access to this), and it is going to provide people an opportunity to request their names to be arranged in order to be more realistic if they are coming from cultures which have 'la', 'de' and similar words in their name. For example my character name currently is Ace_Laroche. In real life it would probably be "Ace la Roche". What I am asking is to give my character a possibility to at least be Ace_LaRoche. As far as I am aware, MDC is not affected by this if the user is online (meaning that if they type Ace_Laroche, my name is going to pop up), but however with the current status of script, it affects the MDC if the user with the uppercase letters in name is offline. But I believe that even that can be fixed easily. Also currently there is one person who has a last name in format I mentioned and there doesn't seem to be any trouble for that person. How would the suggestion benefit the server: It would allow players like myself to have a little more realistic character names for those whose names have French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and other similar origins.

+1 Can't wait to find a rich lady at the Pier.

Obviously /b mute should not apply to admins on aduty. If players really need to tell you something OOCly they can always use /pm, therefore not interfere with active roleplay. Everytime you log into server your /b shall be unmuted making it impossible to keep it on mute by accident for a long time. By the server announcement /b shouldn't be used for SAVE POV anyways.
-
THE PROBLEM I think that the current usage of /b in roleplay scenarios is starting to get completely abused and out of hand, which ruins not only mine, but the experience of many players on the server. I've been on multiple situations where people get shot down and then immediately rush to /b saying things like ((SAVE POV)), ((THAT WAS FU***ING DEATHMATCHING)), ((BRO YOU CAN'T DO THAT)). In most of those cases, players continue to argue in /b and the only thing I see in the chat is those blue brackets that I am starting to very much hate. How am I and other players that are here to roleplay supposed to do /me and /do commands in those circumstances. It's soo disturbing and puts you out of focus especially when you are positioned in a thrilling situation and are trying to remain in your character. It's getting to a point where I can't remember being in a gang/police situation where /b wasn't used. OOC chat should only be used if necessary. Calling someone out in it is absolutely not it. This is ruining the experience of the server and I believe some adjustments should be made. SUGGESTIONS Better enforcement of the OOC communication rules. Allow players to mute /b, making them unable to read OOC chat until they turn it back on. Thank you for reading this.

+1 This is very detailed and I see a lot of potential. This would make RP on the server a lot more in depth and I am all here for it.

BIG +1 Honestly I can't agree more with everything written here. It would be amazing if ideas pass and get implemented. -
Hopefully we will see some more love stories. You are not called mister 1.17 for no reason ;).
-
I absolutely agree with what Bala is saying. Things are definitely not fine as they. Punishment for those who use derogatory slurs is not strong enough and sometimes very bad enforced even. I witnessed reports being denied where players used those slurs to insult someone way beyond IC level. As Dezzy is saying, if people knew at the end of that rainbow is a serious punishment that will be enforced, things would very likely be different. Then some people that would usually use those slurs maybe restrain from using them due to the punishment they may face for that. You definitely shouldn't use any of derogatory slurs in front players you don't know for long time because you never know what is someone going through in real life. People come here to play a game and feel safe, not to be insulted the same way they do in real world, which might be the reason they spend more time in video games. When people use those words on someone, it can really hurt and the damage is already done. And people who get hurt are not snowflakes, they have a right to be hurt and not to get called out for it. They might have much bigger problems in life than you do, so you might want to restrain calling them that. Implementing stronger rules and educating the community on these thing would very likely set the things into a better course.

Since people always tell me different numbers. Would someone mind explaining me how many xp is needed to join and is it xp on any character or the one that is joining. Thank you! Edit: You guys have amazing posts and stories and I love reading them.
-
We were in a situation where multiple people were overusing the word f****t, @gmtavares told them in /b to stop doing that. Only reply we got from them was /b cut /b. So I think it's not going to well and the damage is already done at that point.
-
+1 I completely agree. I think that it should become a well enforced rule that some slurs must be prohibited from usage at all times. It's okay to use regular swear words when you are portraying a character that is living a street life and comes from "the hood". But I don't really see how calling someone a f****t or a n*****, and much similar words help portraying a character. It only portrays your OOC beliefs and how mature of a person you are in real life. At the end of the day we all come here to enjoy our free time and have some fun experience. Saying something like this could instead ruin someone's day which I am and will be very against.

I completely understand how hard it already is to be a criminal and I am aware that a lot of people will disagree with me. I understand why. But hear me out. In my personal opinion I think that robbing stores is currently way too easy. If you want to successfully rob a store, all you need is to know what you are doing and a little bit of luck. Luck is needed just so no police officers or lawful civilians pass through while you are robbing it. If that doesn't happen there is no way you can mess it up. Alarm gets triggered when you are leaving, so from personal experience police arrives when you are already 2km away from the store. Honestly if they even pull you over for going from that direction, you can just play your cards right, comply with them and they cannot do anything since they shouldn't have enough probable cause to search you. There are stores like one on Palomino Freeway which honestly rarely get patrolled around and it's easy to rob them. Yesterday we missed 2 successful Palomino Store robberies in like 10 minutes difference. (I am aware that this could be IC issue saying that units are not patrolling certain stores frequently enough). What I am suggesting is to leave some probability for things to go wrong even if you are doing everything right. For example if you are robbing a store for longer then 3 minutes, every 30 seconds you get 15% chance for alarm to be triggered on it's own. Numbers can be altered easily. Realistically speaking we can say that CCTV Software/NPC Employee noticed unusual activities at a store and ringer the alarm. I think this would add some more pressure when robbing unpatrolled stores and make it not that easy to do so. Honestly I am tired of arriving at 90% Store Robbery alarms just to see the store empty with nothing to work with inside. I think this might make things a bit harder for criminals who already have a lot to worry about. But percentage of successful store robberies is way too above what it would realistically in real world. Thanks for reading through this suggestion for those who did :).

Ace Butoslav | A Story of A Slavic Cop

Ace always had admiration for air support flying overhead the city and keeping the citizens safe. No matter if it's the military or police, Ace would always look above and wish that he was in their position. He strongly wanted to learn how to fly a helicopter, and luckily for him, he met all the requirements to join LSPD's Air Support Unit. Ace applied and hoped for the best. His wishes came true as the application was accepted. He couldn't wait to begin his training and finally go on an AIR patrol. He attended the flight school which was tough as he had to learn a lot in order to know how to operate the airship. He completed his minimum hours as a co-pilot and finally began his training to be a pilot. He flew t he helicopter for the first time and followed a vehicle in a pursuit, giving callouts. Ace continued praticing flying until he got a hang of it. It took him a while, but soon after he was able to follow many vehicles in pursuits and help units arrested dangerous criminals. Ace contributing a lot with his new skill and he was happy. A few months later, Ace was promoted to the rank of Pilot First Class. He could now join the Special Flights Section and participate in more advanced tactical situations that require the very best of the pilots. He applied and got accepted in the training program. Ace used the skills he gathered to complete all the excercises and challenges that were put in front of him during his training. The thing he struggled the most was "search and rescue" portion of the training where he had to find three SWAT members hidden in the bushes of Zancudo valley. He is yet to complete his training and become one of the certified SFS pilots. Ace managed to gather more than 150 hours under his AIR callsign, protecting the city of Los Santos by keeping visual on dangerous people that need to be apprehended. He participated in many pursuits that ended successfully for the police thanks to his good flying and callouts. No Hakuchou Drag, La Coureuse, Issi Sport or a Jugular can ever escape the Eagle overhead. He might have been in many pursuits, but he still has many pursuits to go. FLy Safe. -
Ace Butoslav | A Story of A Slavic Cop
NotOnlyAce replied to NotOnlyAce's topic in Character Stories
His love for Los Santos Police Department is immeasurable. The Story behind "LaRoche" is work in progress. -
BIOGRAPHY Ace Butoslav was born on a sunny day in early October 1998. He was born in a small Balkan country between the sharp mountains and vast meadows, Serbia. Unfortunately at the time of his birth his country was in a terrible place. The War was raging and bombs were falling on a daily basis. It was really dangerous for a lonely, self-sustaining mother with her son. His father was a military serviceman. He was far away from home in Bosnia fighting because of that Yugoslavian mess. Ace and his mother lived alone, very hard with a low wage salary. She was always trying her best to satisfy all Ace's needs and buy enough food to feed him every day. Luckily for her, Ace was never a needy child. And even as young as he was he understood his mother's flour and that he couldn't get everything other kids would. It was infamous 1999 when the big inflation arrived and Serbia's economy collapsed. That inflation hit Ace's family soo bad that they could barely even eat every day. Sometimes they had to go for a week without eating any meat. The only good thing was that government charity services were doing their job and tried to best to feed the families that didn't have enough to withstand on their own. Years passed and it was getting better for them. Country survived through the inflation and things began to be more stable. The year was 2001 and The Yugoslav War was finally over. A letter arrived to their house saying that Vladimir, Ace's father is finally returning home. Ace was almost 4 years old and he didn't meet his father yet. After hearing all the stories about him he couldn't wait to actually at last meet him. In the late cold night of 7th January 2002, on Orthodox Christmas a door bell rang. It was Vladimir outside. For everyone in the house that moment felt like a Christmas miracle. The sound of silence that was going throughout the house was almost spiritual. Ace ran towards him and greeted him with a big hug. That night was is the best memory Ace barely remembers from his childhood. He talked with his father whole night. He told Ace all about the frightening and funny stories that happened in the course of war. It didn't take long for his dad to become his favorite person in the whole world. When Vladimir wasn't on military duty they would hang out and have a great time together. These were one of the best years of his life. With his dad's salary on the table Ace finally had everything an average kid would do. They were able to live unbothered in peace without constant fear of running out of money or food. The whole family was happy. Ace was 5 years old when he greeted his little brother onto the world. Family organized a big feast for all relatives in honor of the birth of the youngest member. Everything was going perfect. Unfortunately that night Vladimir relaxed a little bit too much. He got very drunk with Ace's uncle. During their weird antics Vladimir fell from the roof and injured his ankle. He couldn't serve in the military anymore and reassigned to be a police officer in local department since it was a little less toilsome job than The Army. Ace would always be eager to meet him on the work and see how is it to be a police officer. That was when inside him a desire was born to become a police officer just like his father. He wanted to serve the People just like his father did for years. That was his dream and his ultimate goal. He learned a lot about what makes a good police officer from watching and listening to his father. With his military veteran experience, Vlad was one of the best, bravest and most honorable officers to ever carry the badge. Vlad was the perfect person Ace should look up to and he was happy that his son wanted to continue the job he is doing. Years passed and Ace slowly went through the school. He met a lot of friends and good people that will be very important for him in the near future. As he was passing through the high school, Ace started to realize that his country wasn't big enough for him to stay in. Economy was under development, but still after everything that happened in the '90s it was a fairly poor country at that time. Ace decided that it is the best for him if he would attend to a collage abroad. The only problem is that he didn't know where he will get money from. Tuition was expensive. Even more for someone who is coming from not the most favorable conditions. Ace was about to turn 18 and it was his final year in high school. He did his best to get the most admirable grades possible in order to enroll to any collage of his liking. He spent most of his time studying very hard. EDUCATION Ace managed to finish high school with all A's. His parents were very proud of him and he finally felt proud of himself for achieving something honorable. It was October 7th 2016 when he finally turned 18 years old. His parents organized a big party and invited all friends and relatives to get drunk and have fun like it is a practice for 18th birthdays in Serbia. It was a very fun night for him. Later on when everyone left and the party was over. Vladimir sat down on a couch in the living room to tell Ace something very important. "Look son, me and your mother were saving money for many years in order to pay for your collage tuition. I want you to take this and spend it wisely. You will need all the money you got in the world", he said as he was giving him an envelope full of cash. That was enough money to pay for any collage Ace would wish to go to. He was incredibly happy. Ace hugged his father and thanked him and his mother for everything they did for him. It was time to move on and focus on his studies. Ace enrolled into London South Bank University of Criminology. He found a fairly cheap apartment in the suburb area of London. He was very careful how he spends his money since he needed the most of it for collage tuition. Even after so many years he was still ready to pursue his dreams and become a law enforcement officer, just like his now retired father used to be. He wanted to make his parents proud. Due to the internet expansion in 2010s, his English was good enough as he could understand everything they say in his classes. Ace found a job in the local printing office in order to pay for his bills. He worked really hard everyday. He didn't even go out as much as other students because he really wanted to get the best grades. Otherwise he would feel like his parents wasted money on him and he surely didn't want that. His years in the Great Britain passed well. He met a lot of nice people from all over the world and finished his studies with the most prestigious grades. He received his Bachelor's degree and was one step closer to his ultimate goal. A NEW HOME It didn't take too much time for Ace to realize that United Kingdom is not really a place he wanted to stay in. The weather and the country itself wasn't really what he was looking for. He wanted to move to the United States of America. He heard a lot of things about that place, but still didn't know what to expect. He immediately booked a flight for a city named Los Santos in the state of San Andreas. It was a long and exhausting flight that lasted for over 10 hours. But when they arrived it was soo exciting and refreshing for Ace. He was stunned by the look from Los Santos International Airport. Los Santos was like a city from the dreams. All those skyscrapers were something Ace has never seen before. The weather was warm which was very important to Ace since he was planning to live here. He called a cab and went on a drive around the city to get more familiar with it. He spent a lot of money on rides since he really wanted to see the city from the front view before he does anything else. The good thing was that Downtown Cab Company employees were always very nice towards him and kept him a nice company during his early days in the city. It took him sometime to get used to the American accent since it was much different compared to his British/Slavic one. The bad thing about Los Santos is how expensive it was. Ace needed to find a good job in order to stay here. He applied for Union Depository's Money Transported position. That seemed like a fine started job just enough for an individual to live on for the time being. A good thing was that they only required a valid Driver's Licenses which Ace obtained earlier at the DMV. A first few month were going good. Ace received enough money to buy his first, starter's car which was a Warrener. He would love to drive on the streets of Los Santos without any worries in his mind. Ace's stubbornness and ego started to show to Union Depository management team. He was really mad that they refused to give him a promotion even though he kept asking and asking and working hard. He left the company and was forced to do something else. Ace heard that the reputation of Los Santos Police Department was very good. He finally knew what he wants to do in Los Santos. He wanted to continue his dream path and enroll into Police Forces like he always wished to do. Unfortunately Ace found that he needed a little bit more knowledge and experience in the Los Santos before he will be able to apply for Police Department. Ace used to spend his days fishing on the Del Perro Pier and talking to random people he meets. He already met a handful of friends that would show him around and teaching him about how things work in the city. Months passed and Ace was finally comfortable enough to write down the best application he could. He submitted his application and hoped for the best. POLICE DEPARTMENT He couldn't sleep that night. He was eagerly waiting for any response to his application. He was soo excited and nervous about it. This was his dream all along since he was six years old. He wouldn't forgive himself if he managed to mess up this chance. However besides all the nervousness he was fairly confident about his application. He had a lot of high quality education and he took his time to write the best one possible. He tried to be as patient as possible, but he wasn't able to. It meant to much for him. A few days later a response arrived. A smile started appearing on his face as he was reading "We gladly inform you that your application was accepted". Ace was soo happy about it. He didn't waste a moment to call his friends and invite them for a celebration drink at his house. This meant soo much for him and he was soo excited about it. But it was just a first step on his journey. He still needed to complete his interview in person. Which was a lot harder stage. But if he manages to pass that he would have a pretty good foundation on becoming a police officer. A week passed and he finally got an email about a scheduled interview. He made his way to Mission Row. Two officers met him at front desk, Guilherme Tavares and Torsten Church. Ace had his best suit on and was ready for anything that would come his way. The interview went perfect. Ace was very confident and gave the most honest and precise answers he could to any question. Officers were very satisfied with his education. Since the interview was really good they decided to pass him. Ace was only missing Police Academy before he would become a sworn member of Los Santos Police Department. A few days later the Academy took place. It was held by Police Captain Kilo Crosby at the training rooms of Mission Row Police Station. Ace was following all instructions very clearly and did his very best. All attendants passed the Police Academy #185. Ace said his vow with great honor and received his shiny police badge. It was his happiest day since he arrived to Los Santos. He didn't waste any seconds to immediately call his parents and tell them about it. They didn't hear each other for soo long and they were soo happy to hear Ace's voice. When his mother heard about what happened she busted into tears of pure joy. His father was soo proud and told him to behave nice and be a honorable police officer. As a Cadet Ace still had a long way to go before he would become a full officer. He had to pass the Field Training Program by attending multiple Field Training Sessions and Field Training Reports. Unfortunately during the time of his training Ace had to leave the city quickly. His mother was very sick and he couldn't stay abroad knowing that. Ace had to travel back to Serbia and be with his mother in need. He had to resign from Police Department, but he had strong beliefs that he will return one day. Ace took care of his mother and was her biggest support during the hard times. After half a year in Serbia, his mother was feeling a lot better. Ace was able to come back to Los Santos. He arrived and immediately filed Reinstatement Application for the Police Department which was approved shortly. Ace was finally able to resume his Training Program. After about 1 Month after his reinstatement he managed to complete his Evaluation. This was the last step before becoming a full Police Officer. He was just supposed to do his job and wait for a promotion. 2 Weeks later he was promoted and became a sworn Police Officer I within the Police Department. He chose Mission Row Patrol Division as his precinct since he knew the supervisors and command there were nice and a lot of his friends were police officers in that particular division. Ace was proud of himself. He immediately informed his family and friends in Serbia about his achievement. This was a great start to an enjoyable career. Ace met a lot of people in the department and was very happy about his current position in life. He achieved his childhood dream, but many new dreams arose. He had set up a bunch of new goals within the Police Department and was ready to pursue them. Of course his job didn't consist of only good moments. He had a lot of colleagues die on his eyes. Somedays were worse then the others. But with the help of Police Department itself and his friends, Ace went through all the good and bad things job was throwing at him. Always feeling highly honored for carrying the badge of Los Santos Police Department.
