  1. I don't believe there's a simple solution to such a complicated problem, but I'd like to offer a perspective that doesn't focus on balance between LEO factions and civilians/crims, even though balance changes might be needed too. I will reference my comment on a similar thread: I believe one of the main reasons why civilian and crim RP feels the LEO factions are ruining their roleplay is due to the general demeanor/RP the LEO factions conduct throughout. There are definitely outliers, but for the most part the experience of people outside the LEO factions is that LEO's focus more on getting the result they want (often referenced as "win mentality", but in my experience it doesn't always mean an outright "win" for LEO's, but rather what they hope to achieve during the interaction). As I have been a part the LSPD faction as well as a crim faction I feel like I have a good grasp on both sides, but I can not comment on the inner workings of the LSSD faction. From my experience as an LEO I got the sense that the LSPD faction had a leadership or middle management that was very focused on keeping the faction a serious Law Enforcement Experience to the extent they could within the parameters of the server and game. The problem this created was that the people who joined the faction to get the LEO experience was put in a narrow framework due to the rules and regulations within the faction, which was more focused on this serious Law Enforcement Experience. There felt like little to no room for interpretations or leeway to be given to civs/crims because this would be treated as you being "OOCly corrupt" or just corrupt RP wise (which if you didn't have permission from the Chief meant you were breaking faction rules). This made the civ/crim experience such that any mistake made from them would be punished to the fullest extent of the law, and every interaction with the LSPD faction was as serious as if it was real life, and due to civs/crims losing assets the tension grew high. Then over time the feeling of contempt grew from people outside of the LSPD faction, leading to the LSPD faction feeling more and more isolated as from their perspective they were doing what the faction was meant to be doing, and being the inherent "party poopers" of the server. That is understandable not a great feeling as an LEO player to be branded as the people ruining the experience of others so in turn they became less and less tolerant, leading to more push back from civs/crims, leading to more isolation for the LSPD faction. Then I believe a breaking point occurred, where the majority civs/crims who have had enough divided themselves into 3 groups: 1. Leave the server 2. Join the LEO factions on a different character 3. Stay as a crim and become extremely toxic towards LEO's to the point of actively trying to ruin the LEO's experience before eventually going to point 1 I have already rambled on for a while so I'll give one example I was personally a part of before getting to my conclusion/solution I created, with Tommy Makinen and Ceri Makinen, the faction "Off Grid" which for it's first 30 days while I was there, had a no-fucking with cops policy. Me and Tommy decided early on that this faction was going to be a strictly racing gang with some illegal side activites like bank robbery. Every time we robbed banks we only used cars (because fuck all them pussies on bikes frfr) because we wanted the cops to have a good time chasing us. Every interaction with cops was focused on making it a good experience for both parties, which very few times lead to good interactions for all, and mostly lead to something similar to this: I left not long after this incident and from what I heard the faction went steady on for a few months getting more and more toxic towards the police and eventually disbanding and most members leaving the server after countless talks with faction management trying to sort this problem out. All this being said here's my conclusion: Keep the LEO factions as is, providing a close-to-reality serious LEO faction. Which with the move to FiveM may or may not continue to see the numbers dwindle or Pivot and open up for more leeway and focus on a fun experience from LEOs, leading to more fun for all parties, Which may or may not help, but in my humble opinion has a better chance of seeing true positive change. The extent of this leeway needs to be discussed among LEO faction leaders and admins/server owners as you might need to tighten or loosen the leeway dynamically until you find a good balance that LEOs and civs/crims alike find acceptable. If the owners of the server are happy to keep the LEO factions as serious as is, then make the game less grindy, so that people who lose assets don't feel so hopeless and feels like their time is being respected. Thanks for reading

  4. Hello I just posted a roleplay feedback to SD's gov website forum and wanted to give everyone a chance to see it and read it. It was honestly one of the greatest roleplay experiences I've had on this server and is a stark difference to the usual "win mentality" you often see. I hope this is a sign of what's to come going forward, please give SD the props they deserve after this: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewtopic.php?t=214187
  5. I agree with everything you're saying, and I agree that there's faults at both sides, majorly so. The one thing I'd like to point out is that the change 100% needs to come from the LEO factions first and here is why: - They interact with the entire server on a day to day basis, especially crims, whereas which crim factions interact with LEOs can vary vastly from day to day (or hour to hour) - LEOs don't have anything to lose. If LEOs were to "lay down" so to speak tomorrow they would take a lot more losses in the beginning but they wont lose any of their time or effort because they haven't invested hours grinding for their gear thay will disappear if they lose the interaction. However if crims were to "lay down" they would lose hours upon hours of work with the hopes that LEOs follow their lead. In LEOs case they could just turn the aggression back on if this experiment doesn't work. All this is to say that the problem lies on both sides, but the only way to see meanigful change, in my opinion, is if LEOs take the first step. YEs you might have to deal with toxic crims for a few weeks or months, but at least you wont lose hours of work. And if you announce this change then you will quickly see which crims are here for the W and which are here to RP, as those who actually want to create a nice interaction, will attempt to do so. I hope.

    QOL Changes

GTA as a game is centered around cars so a script for racing would be cool. An app for example that can notify you if a race is being set up. I don't have all the details, but I assume smarter people than me can go deep with this.
  7. Who is the suggestion for? Everyone, criminals more than others as they get the bad end of the stick for the most part Why is the suggestion being made? The impound system brings no good RP opportunities for either LEO or Crim/Civ. For the most part LEOs only go there if they have nothing else to do, and even then they might not do so. For Civs it feels in no way fulfilling to stand afk for a long time just hoping that an LEO will show up. Also doesn't help that theres no indication that an LEO member is online, let alone seen the impound message. What are the pros and/or cons of the suggestion? Pros: - People won't have to wait for minutes if not hours, and on some occasion days (which is what prompted me to make this suggestion) to receive minimal Roleplay and a general bad experience. - Will give LEO's more focused RP opportunities elsewhere Cons: - You wont get the once in a lifetime Roleplay encounter between the greatest LEO and Civ character this server has ever seen, that can somehow make the impound release RP into something enjoyable. How should the suggestion be implemented? A way to get your car out of the impound without having an LEO present. If you really want the LEO interaction there, at least make the LEO's able to toggle this automatic release so that if they are unable to go there in the moment they can then let the Civs get their cars out by themselves.
  8. The Kingmaker is Back The Plan Kai always felt he was destined for more than just survival, he was born to lead. From his early days in the city, he gravitated toward power, carving his way through Los Santos by starting his own gangs or embedding himself in others, slowly making his way up the ranks. His charisma, street smarts, and relentless ambition made him a natural leader, and while many feared him, others followed him without question. But this time, Kai wasn’t just chasing power for the sake of power. Something had shifted inside him. This time, the vision was different, more focused, more personal. He wasn’t interested in copying the cookie-cutter gangs that littered the city like broken glass. He wanted to create something with meaning. A brotherhood that valued loyalty over fear, principles over profit. A group with its own moral code, even if it was written in blood. Kai began laying the foundation in secret. Every move calculated. He started small, gathering intel, building connections, and accumulating resources. Money came first, then weapons, then influence. As days turned into weeks, the pressure of trying to juggle every part of the operation began to take a toll. The constant paranoia, the sleepless nights, the unrelenting weight of leadership, Kai began to wonder if he was truly ready to build a gang from the ground up again. Then, by what felt like fate, he ran into a familiar face. Callum Goat. Callum and Kai had known each other for many years at this point and even though they were adversaries in the past, they always kept a friendly tone. Change of Plan After speaking for a few minutes about the state of ESM and Kai’s current plans, an idea emerged where maybe it was time for Kai to humble himself and use his experience to strengthen ESM, who are already well respected in the city’s criminal underworld, instead of starting his own gang again. The thought of this undertaking gave Kai a familiar feeling, it’s been a while since he’s been a low-ranking member. He thought to himself, “This might just be the thing I need right now.” So the next day he contacted Callum and said he was interested in joining and that he would do what he could to bring East Side Mob to the pinnacle of the criminal underworld. Kai now believes that under Callum's leadership and Kai’s contributions ESM will thrive. They will once again be Kings of Los Santos.
