  1. +1 that would be really useful as sometimes the /do command runs into a dead end. Score. Hopefully our moderators take something like this into consideration Saitama C. ////// Los Santos Hero Association previously: Front Yard Balls + Los Santos Customs
  2. actually yeah. Some faster whips would be sick. Also it could provide the spark for eclipse to finally get a racing club (legal or illegal). It would be great to see upgrades done at LSC have a much bigger effect on vehicles, considering how expensive they are. Saitama C. ////// Los Santos Hero Association previously: Front Yard Balls + Los Santos Customs
  3. actually, I like that idea. Honestly that should be how the speeding cameras are. I think the cops should do speeding tickets. They do, but not often. Saitama C. ////// Los Santos Hero Association previously: Front Yard Balls + Los Santos Customs
  4. Not a bad idea... only if its cheaper than gas. We spend enough money, lol. Saitama C. ////// Los Santos Hero Association previously: Front Yard Balls + Los Santos Customs
  5. welcome to eclipse! Saitama C. ////// Los Santos Hero Association previously: Front Yard Balls + Los Santos Customs
  6. that is a great agrument!
  7. If I get unbanned from RP, what should my backstory/character be? I am going to be focused much less on money and more about making character and getting connections. What do yall think? Have u seen any clever characters out there? Any suggestions? It may be a few days or weeks before I get unbanned, I guess it depends whenever the senior admin feels like reading ban appeals, and theres a long line. Anyway, drop some ideas in the discussion for characters. Gonna be fun.
  8. (this is only if i get unbanned, but this character most likely wont happen, sad face) My name is peter griffin. I use to live in Quahog, Rhode Island. I moved because I had a dysfunctional wife who gave birth to a football. Also my dog liked to get drunk. I am moving to los santos because I hear the gambling is pretty sweet and Im looking to get rich and flex to my cop friend who is a cripple. ehehehe heres a picture of me using the bathroom
  9. This will be quick. Along with gangs there should also be mobs. A different group of people than the typical african american and mexican gangsters in los santos right now. I'm talking like big italian guys. Mob bosses. Massive organizations. They don't do small fry gangster moves like the zetas, instead they get the privilege to illegally own gas stations, bars, stores, they can hustle and have access to much more advanced criminal procedures. That would be sick. It's not just a free for all like the gangs. It is organized, hidden to the police, and most of the money goes to one guy. The boss. Kind of like a secret society, which would also be cool.
  10. ok thanks just checking. I was not sure because they say that locking it means that it has been "resolved" and nobody could comment on it anymore. It seems like they should respond fast. froggy responded almost instantly. I didn't know that was the full process.
  11. a quick update. Working on a ban appeal. They told me this but I am not sure what happens next? I am not unbanned yet. The discussion is closed so I can't ask.
  12. @Marca @MistNinjaI just disagree with the developers' attempt at making it "hardcore RP" by making it as realistic as possible. Sure, there are people with no lives that can do it but there needs to be a fine line between video games and real life. The idea of GTA Role play is great, I love the sound of it and I want to play but it isn't fun when it takes real life time. I was expecting a video game, not a simulation of real life because people cant acomplish things in the real world. I could guarantee that 99% of the people who would agree with me are the middle/low class of the server. The people that aren't rich because of special connections with mods and admins (basically all of the big gangs and groups, which also doesn't promote small groups and gangs, ruining rp). These are the people that work hard and drive the mail truck halfway across the map.. Basically making it regular GTA with a couple extra features and some strict ass rules. If it is truly about "Building Up your character" then the characters might as well start as infants or something. Not some homeless guy on the streets.
  13. @Seas Roleplay is what you make it? Oh really? Then why can't I have a bunch of money and RP a wealthy government official? I truly think we should be able to choose our positions more freely like DOJ.
  14. @MistNinja Not true. They do not grind and work hard ever. All they do is rob innocent players to make themselves look big. Also, they make sure they "win" every RP scenario. Not what RP is about. There is still a chance for the victim to win in a situation. Instead, the bigshot-cocky gangs on eclipse say "He is powergaming!!" or "Fear-RP???" even though they break these rules all of the time. Another person in this discussion said "Roleplay is what you make it" Oh really? Why cant I just have a bunch of money and RP a wealthy government official?
  15. You are only saying this because you are already at the top. People who have been playing for a while probably did not have to work for it as there was no competition.
  16. The clash between Jotaro Kujo and DIO continues. As The World and Star Platinum exchange blows, their Users begin to emit so much power that they start to float. The World eventually beats Star Platinum; a satisfied DIO thus proceeds to stop time to try and finish Jotaro. However, when Jotaro's finger briefly twitches in the stopped time, DIO becomes initially very distraught and began to realize Jotaro's words he said moments earlier about The World and Star Platinum being the same types of Stand could possibly be true. Star Platinum punches through The World's abdomen Time resumes and DIO asks Jotaro if he's seen him, but Jotaro plays dumb and simply flees from him, with DIO taking chase. The Vampire recalls the day he discovered his time stop ability and his belief in his supremacy. Stopping time once more, DIO then discovers a magnet on himself and Jotaro. Both magnets were on the same side, giving the illusion that Jotaro could actually move. DIO then moved in for the killing blow, but Jotaro, having lured DIO into a false sense of security, was able to land a powerful punch in the frozen time, indicating the magnets to be a red herring. DIO is sent flying into a shop but quickly regenerates with the blood of a nearby vendor. Jotaro, surrounded by a terrifying amount of knives that DIO had thrown at him DIO halts the battle and wonders how much Jotaro can accomplish in the stopped time. Jotaro tries to hide the fact that he can only briefly move for a moment, but then DIO devises a plan to make this irrelevant as he reveals his hands and belt full of knives. Worried, Jotaro tries to jump to safety but DIO stops time while he's in mid-air. With no way to escape, Jotaro sees DIO throwing dozens of knives from all sides. Jotaro was able to block several knives in frozen time but found himself unable to stop them all once time return to normal. He was stabbed multiple times and, for a good measure, The World throws an extra knife into Jotaro's hat, seemingly killing him as the student falls to the ground. However, anticipating such an attack, Jotaro stuffed his jacket and hat with magazines, thus preventing his body and head from actually getting injured. But he still had been stabbed deeply in his arms and right leg. He decides to play dead as DIO approaches, and the Vampire is aware of the resilience of the Joestar. To make sure that he had truly killed Jotaro, he breaks a road sign and wields it like a halberd; DIO prepares to decapitate Jotaro until suddenly, Polnareff intervenes and stabs DIO in the head with Silver Chariot's rapier. D Polnareff attacks DIO IO stops time and easily swathes Polnareff aside. However, DIO now approaches the Frenchman, forcing Jotaro to divert his attention to himself to save Polnareff. He willingly twitches his finger to catch the Vampire's attention. Suspicious, DIO makes a policeman shoot in Jotaro's corpse. Surprisingly, Jotaro had used Star Platinum to catch the bullet aimed to his body. Dio then checks for any breathing or even heartbeat; Jotaro is forced to use Star Platinum to stop his heartbeat and almost dies as a result. DIO continued on with his original plan to cut Jotaro's head off but Jotaro was able to use this opportunity to land a strong blow directly into DIO's head and shattered a part of his skull, damaging the left hemisphere of his brain severely. DIO is restored to his prime after feasting on Joseph's blood Now heavily injured, DIO tries to crawl to safety. However, DIO is disabled, causing him to be unable to stand up. Jotaro catches up and plans to burn him with some oil. As a taxi passes nearby, DIO began to crawl away while simultaneously employing The World's time stop to assist him in distancing himself from Jotaro, pulled himself behind it, and allowed himself get dragged behind it but then Jotaro makes it crash with one of the knives stuck on him. DIO attempts to take shelter in a sewer but Jotaro is already under the cover. DIO is then violently pummelled away by Star Platinum. However, DIO has outsmarted Jotaro: he's manipulated Jotaro into sending him to his "escape route"; back to where Joseph's body was, and the old man's blood allows him to not only fully recover, but also completely synch his body with that of Jonathan Joestar. Kotaro Jujo now lives in Los Santos on grove street Appearances
  17. The whole "create your own story and make money that way" thing is kinda bogus. Only because from my experience on the server, that wasn't even possible. Eclipse literally does not permit that. It is too cops and robbers based. I like whoever said that by the way. The mods need to step in and rebalance everything and revisit a lot of things. I am currently banned and based on what happened I don't think appealing is possible (yes, my fault). But, here is what they should revist: 1. Inflation (mainly with buildings and cars). Hey, if they want to be realistic about it, maybe they could make a "bill" or an "act" that suspends or promotes something economic in order to fix the inflation of property. Create a new deal or something! 2. Wages (LSC I am looking at you!) MAKE A BILL THAT INCREASES MINIMUM WAGE!!!! 10K AN HOUR MAYBE? Here's the thing. Factions don't have budgets. I am 99% sure that the money they pay workers is auto generated for the purpose of RP. I am pretty sure. If I am wrong, then hey: scratch this off the list. Although, the owners could still raise wage and stop being greedy pigs. 3. Gangs (Big ones, mainly. I promote small gangs). The massive gangs like the zetas, triads, etc are an extremely unrealistic size. Restrict them or break them up! Also, adding more drug labs, chop shops, or new criminal activities could lower the competition and allow new players to build up easier. 4. No Crime Zones (This is only on here because there are a ton of loopholes with this) I honestly think most NCZs should be removed. The Bank should be one of the only ones but that would never happen. Like what the hell. Why is the DMV a NCZ??? At least tweak the rules because I could shoot my gun into the sky at a NCZ and technically it isnt a crime.
  18. Pretty much. It is fully based on money. There is no way in hell the business people who replied started it for free. Like I said, Eclipse RP is literally just a strict version of GTA online. That is all it is. I am having so much more fun on regular online now.
  19. This is legit but a lot of people so far are missing one of the biggest points I made, the Realistic part. It seems like the Eclipse Staff tries so hard to make it realistic by using real work hours, realistic prices (for selling stuff like ores), and other things to make the game more grindy like real life. But the problem is that a GTA server cannot achieve a 100% Realistic experience. Therefore it just does not work. Here is what I mean. The robbers are the greatest example. Most people who rob on Eclipse would never rob in real life, so technically they are breaking Fear RP. Imagine the adrenaline you would get robbing somebody in real life. It is still just a GTA server. A video game. The eclipse staff will never achieve the fully realistic hardcore RP server that they want. It is impossible and then mixture of realism and non realism just ruins it and makes the game a giant pit with an economic tug of war inside.
  20. I understand this, but it seems like the people that are giving replies like this are the people that are already rich (who never had to work hard for it because they have been in the server for a long time, before everything was inflated and competitive (ex: houses)).
  21. I see where you are coming from with this. The only issue I have is that it is hard to pull that off in my opinion. When I used to log on and play it was just the same old same old. People at the bank, robbers everywhere else. There was no way for me to think up a cool business to run (I also had no guidance as how to properly make a business and there also was not any guidance online so I just didn't get the chance). Maybe that is just me though
  22. I agree! I have seen servers where you actually get to pick your financial situation and have a lot more freedom with it. Maybe someday I will try to get unbanned if they do that or boost the economy. Thanks for replying!
  23. *I also posted this on the rule suggestion forum as well, but lets have a discussion here! Good quarantine activity, I guess* Introduction Before we begin, let me state that yes: this is all my opinion. Throughout the report I do give facts about the server but ultimately me not recommending it is just my opinion. Play it if you really want to. Anyway, it all started a few months back when I decided to join it because I wanted to try something new. RP seemed fun so I joined eclipse. I passed their little quiz and got in. Right away I noticed there were some different menu features and game mechanics, which were extremely difficult to figure out at first as there was no guide and since everybody I saw was "in character" nobody would just tell me how to do it. I eventually figured it out and it was all good. I played peacefully on the server for a few months, learning how to RP in situations. Most of those situations was me getting robbed, which I will rant about later on. I was able to get one of the faction jobs as a Mechanic on the forums. It payed me the best money I have earned on the server however it was a salary based on real hours, so it sucked. I soon quit that because the lowest rank mechanic's job was basically standing around doing nothing (they would never promote even the best of us). I then started my life of crime, I joined the "ballas" gang thinking I would make a fortune. Made 0 money as there were no set rules for group robbing and other projects. Stupid. I eventually got so bored of it so I just started trolling with a work bus which ended up getting me banned. Again, I am going to explain all of this in the next section, this is not a rage post because I got banned. I was bored of the server, and here's why. Reason 1: Money The way money works is absolute garbage in eclipse RP. It ruins the whole point of role play. When you first join the server, you start with a small base amount of $7000 and you get a slow income of $5000 from the "government". There are "freelance jobs" which are the basic minimum wage jobs that players can get without applying. Quite frankly, those jobs are more fun than the actual faction jobs. Other than that, without applying for a faction job (which all have very very strict applications, by the way), the only half decent way of making money is by making drugs. Making drugs is also very difficult, which I will explain later. It just seems like the overall goal is to make money. Which interferes with the RP aspect. Here's proof: During my time, myself and many others constantly got robbed by small gangs. Here's the thing: Eclipse's goal is to make the server as realistic as possible (which is why factions go by real hours of pay). In my opinion, the mass amount of robbers there are on the streets is very unrealistic. In the server, one of the rules is called "Fear RP" which basically means you have to fear for your life in situations (ex: You cant run straight into a gun). I honesty think for all of the robbers on the server, they would be too scared to rob somebody in real life, so that already brakes fear RP. That is why there are so many of them, and it just ruins the game for others because in the end, those robbers just want to make money and be rich as well. I mean heck, If you go the bank (A no crime zone that is basically the hub of the server), all people do there is flex their cars and look rich. Did I also mention that there are very few house properties for sale and they are all very inflated because people are so desperate? It destroys the whole point of RP in my opinion. Think of it this way: Eclipse RP is literally just regular GTAV Online with strict rules. Mind blown. It's so true. Regular GTAV online is literally just about making money. In other RP servers, it is not about money. in DOJ RP for example, you get to pick your role and your financial status, which eliminates the money making temptations for many players. This is how it should be for Eclipse. Reason 2: The Roles I have to give Eclipse RP some credit where it is due. They do a good job keeping certain things realistic like hiding drug locations on the real web, and their recipes. They also do a good job with the auction style car markets, where players can make investments and try to climb in money (again though, with the whole money thing). Eclipse has some good features to it, don't get me wrong. However, the roles are super off balanced. As i mentioned earlier, there are so many criminals on the street, which means there are so little police and paramedics. This is a big problem because one of the good things about the server is you can call 911 at any time in an emergency. But the bad thing is that the response time is so bad because they have very little online. Why? The applications and training process! It is garbage! I understand the realistic part, but why??? Here is a great example of this. When I applied to work at Los Santos Customs, the first step was to fill out this long ♥♥♥ application. I passed that. Then, you have to set up a real time interview with a manager. I did that, set my time, got online, the manager wasn't even there. I found him later and he told me to come back in 3 real hours. So I did. I finally got the job after almost a week of waiting. Then, I had to get trained to work on my own which was like an hour and a half. I did that. Huzzah I am now a mechanic. Not really. Remember when I said that they rarely ever promote people, even the ones that deserve it? Yeah. I was ranked "recruit" when I joined, along with possibly one hundred others. I instantly noticed that the complaint from others was that there were tons of recruits and little trainers or managers. There were also no towers. (A tower is a higher ranked mechanic that is allowed to tow). This was a huge problem because the main function of the mechanic was to tow vehicles. There was a crazy high demand. We would get tons of requests for tows and nobody could tow. An admin came multiple times asking us If anybody could tow and we were like "sorry man". I was really hoping I could just get insta-promoted by the admin. Didn't get that though. Basically, you get the point. There isn't enough workforce vs. criminals because everything is way too strict and hard to get into because they try to be too realistic. Just my opinion though. Reason 3: The 'Realistic' Part' This drives me nuts. This is some new info with also a lot of review and it also kind of sums up everything. I get it. It is cool that they want to make it realistic but I think it is too much. The fact that the only way to get good money would be making tons of drugs (which was difficult without being in a gang) or working countless real time hours as a faction member is ridiculous. Guys, it is a video game. Some people may have the time but I am not going to sit there as a mechanic or a police officer for tons of real hours a day like it is a real job. It is a video game. There are all of the RP rules to help try and enforce that but it is all kinda bogus. There is a rule called "powergaming" which basically bans anybody from using unrealistic RP actions such as *starts flying away from the robber and *Uses crazy reaction speed to catch bullet. I get that. It is a good rule but people abuse it a bunch. If I was getting robbed, they would basically make sure they would "win" the situation no matter what (also not the point of RP). Its hard, but its very possible to RP your way out of getting robbed without powergaming. But, if something doesn't go their way, they just claim "HES POWERGAMING!!! REPORT!!". Kinda bogus in my opinion. There are tons of other situations where this can happen. It is just all no fun in the end. The Conclusion Basically, here is why I got banned: I got bored. (one more time, not a rage post. I got banned a couple months before writing this. Don't get the wrong idea) I was literally driving a work bus around and crashing into gangs for the hell of it. I was so bored of the game. Because of everything I just explained, all you ever do on Eclipse RP is the same thing over and over. You do your way of getting money, maybe you get robbed, maybe you don't. It can be rewarding in the end but the issue is it takes too much real time to do and its all just a big competition for who makes the most money in the game which breaks the RP aspect. I am glad I don't play Eclipse RP anymore. Thanks for reading. feel free to drop some comments, lets have a discussion! I know this is just for regular GTAV but I think RP on rage multiplayer servers and others are fair game too. To Mods: Lock this if you want but please do not delete. It is a fair opinion and should be out there for people considering what RP server to play. Thanks. (I originially posted this for regular GTA forums but I thought maybe there could be some changes for the greater good if Eclipse mods read this) TO ECLIPSE MODS: please don't remove this right away or you are totally gonna look like the Chinese government. No matter how exposing it is, just let people read it. Maybe you guys can change the way money works some day. Up to you. It is all my opinion after a couple months of legit playing before I started messing around for fun.
