+1 to the first person view.

-1 to the driver being able to shoot, this means a solo driver can just park and shoot from a vehicle/suprise attack or whatever.

You're at a disadvantage shooting from a car, your FOV is limited, you're stuck in first person and your aiming range is limited. A person on foot will demolish a person shooting out of a car in first person.

  2. Sound mods should always be a thing. The advantage you receive (if any) is so negligible. You could make the same argument about people using NVE or other visual mods to result in more game clarity etc. My monitor is naturally dark, should I cry when another player can see me cause their screen is brighter? I could easily turn up my brightness setting on my monitor - same way any person can download a sound pack.

Its 2024, the fact sound packs are disallowed is clinically insane. If you disagree well then what can I say other than cry is free.

    1. I'm not here to argue and definitely not about something that simple. The script should not work if the player is wearing a mask. Not generally working cuz the player is EXPECTED to not have mask on.

Crims are assured cops cant abuse /suspend as we get notified when our licenses get suspended. If we'll be getting a similar notification, then I guess this solves everything :).

What does a cop looking up if someone's license is suspended on a computer have to do if they're wearing a mask. Why would a cop looking up someone's license status alert the other player? With this logic any time a criminal zipties someone cops should get alerted just to be sure nobody can abuse kidnapping.

Remove this please additions like these take rp out of situations and only allow for higher chances of power gaming for instance a crim gets pulled over on a bike the cop hops out of his car and full sends tackled him and immediately cuffs him where is the opportunity for roleplay? And the new miny game for cuffing seems a bit un needed. I really feel like this addition dose more bad than good only benefits cops / legals 99% of the time, and takes some of the uniqueness away from eclipse and makes it look more like some random five m server.

this in no way is in a disrespect manner and the addition of new drug effects and guns have made these last months of ecrp more fun than prior times but I feel like this change was only added to one heavily benefit pd/sd or two just added to add something new but not really wanted .

You have the opportunity to resist being cuffed now instead of the RP ending as soon as the taser is pulled and used. Is this a case of it being a negative change or just a case of people being afraid of change?

You talk about "opportunity for roleplay" right? With no flame intended or disrespect can you provide me pictures of RP opportunities you have created? Please practice what you're preaching and be a positive example by showing us what you mean by creating opportunities for RP.

A Druguar, Kamacho or a Brawler

None of those you mentioned (their irl equivalent) are made for vertical hill/mountain climb. Even on rocky terrain they'd have to travel incredibly slow. I'd argue just as slow as a ford explorer would. I think a lot of people on the server really confuse what "off-roading" means and how it is different from hill climbing.

For once, I'm going to keep this suggestion simple and the reason that I'm going to keep it simple is that I can't imagine that anyone that is going to look at the big picture here, is going to have a hard time understanding why.

    • Restore the No Crime Zones around Mission Row and Vinewood Police Departments, City Hall, Paleto Bay Fire Station and Pillbox Medical.

I get why staff wanted to give players the opportunity for different kinds of role-play in these areas but with all due respect to the players of our server, I think a number of incidents since at both Pillbox and Mission Row (the ones that I am aware of) lead me to believe that our player base can't be trusted to regulate themselves.

Yes, players can report if there are non roleplay breaches in these areas currently but honestly, that's like closing the barn door after the horse is bolted. You can't undo a dumb situation or un-frustrate people. I feel like I speak for the PD in this, we're sick of people doing goofy shit at a building that is RPly full of police officers all hours of the day.

I also don't think that fighting and shooting and stealing vehicles at a hospital is conducive to a good roleplay experience either.
I also don't think people doing the kind of illegal activities they have at city hall recently is conducive to a good roleplay experience either.

If players wanna display their quirky personalities or feed their inner criminal, do it elsewhere. It's a big map.

You know we're homies but this is a bad take. There have been countless times where police departments have been shot up, attacked, vandalized and more irl. Its just one of those things that happens. Does it happen often? No - /BUT/ the opportunity should be present. Last night I had a shootout with Underground at MRPD and it was some of the most fun I have had in a good bit. I have never had to fight at mission row and I had to on-the-fly adapt to a new location. The LSPD won, obviously. It's our home turf. We have easy access to the armory to restock armor in case any second waves happen etc.

Are the petty crimes such as waking up to my car being without doors or lockpicked etc annoying? Yes. 100%. Do the possible experiences that not having an NCZ there outweigh those annoying encounters? 1000%. At the end of the day as players we expect fun interactions. I'd love more stuff to go down outside of MRPD, whether it be fist fights, kidnappings, ambushes etc.

Police have the upper hand there, It will not be easy for a gang to win a fight at a police station. If they decide to drop in feet first into hell then let them. If someone has the balls to attack the police department to free their prisoned comrade or to attack a convoy early, fuck it man let them. They're the ones that are going to have to deal with police going to the armory and restocking on body armor and ammo. It only makes sense. If they manage to succeed in their plan even with all the advantages PD have at their home base then they deserve props!

For someone who, unfortunately, has 1m XP on his crim I do play it smart. However, for new players it’s kinda hard when PD/SD metagame scenarios for their “play to win” mentality and act/dress like criminals and act/dress like criminals? Oh but it’s okay, they have all the script support in the world to go undercover in any aspect they please, besides from a different alias.

You firmly believe undercover law enforcement, whether local or federal do not dress and act like criminals during undercover operations?

I don't appreciate the metagaming comments because none of these situation (as far as I'm aware) have been brought to the attention of leaders in the LSPD.

And quite frankly, I'm one of those people that believe /alias should be removed same with IDs above players heads. Should hold a hotkey down to reveal a player ID and that's it.

Bro we get it, you only care the RP and you dont have a win-mentality.

We know you would do your PD job even if you dont get paid cuz you love it and you're not in the server to grind assets. We also know you didnt buy the meta walkstyle cuz it runs faster but because you're ICly relaxed, we get it. We also know you spawn meta vehicles because you love how they look not because they're bulletproof. You dont need to prove yourself anymore.

We also know that most stores were bought by LEOs because they're seeking more RP opps that can be done after they buy it, not because they're looking to grind more assets in an RP server.

Why do people still lie about not caring for assets?

My brother in christ if you're going to try to hit me with a "gotcha" moment at least attack my points with logic not with sarcastic responses.

Crims do respect how much time you've spent gathering all your info, the processes you go through, all the factions that take part to approve such a raid and all that lovely stuff you've mentioned. But do you respect how much time these crims spent, all the risks they go through whether that be during cooking the drugs, chopping cars, selling either of those, having an order, the possibility of it being comped by either PD or a rival faction, and all that? Cuz in all honesty, it doesnt seem like you do, at all.

In previous suggestions regarding anything that goes towards PD vs crims, LEOs claim that crims can make millions grinding, assuming its easy for some reason, while they making millions sitting in a car doing nothing, caring for nothing and fearing nothing, cuz whatever happens, it doesnt affect your salary one bit. Just sitting there waiting for RP opps to show up and conduct them accordingly, which is appreciated of course. But whether these RP opps happen or not, you're still making your money, you're not taking any Ls.

Crims suggesting similar suggestions like this isnt because they have a win mentality. Keeping assets isnt a W, keeping assets is not taking another L. One of so many Ls that crims take all day long whether that be by RPing with other crims or with cops.

Does house raids make sense? Of course! No one is trying to deny this. But does it help the server in any way? Yay man, you got your detective RP and ruined someone else's 1 year grind! It doesnt. I personally was never raided before, so this is not coming from an OOC hatred due to IC consequences. But I do understand how demotivating it would be to any crim who's already in the losing side of the game by nature, to just get all his efforts wiped.

LEOs trying to mention how many RP opps house raids can bring to the server is crazy. You think someone who just lost days, weeks and months of grinding would be sat there during the house raid plotting how he's gonna avenge this? He's not. He's gonna be writing up his good bye letter to his friends that still play the server.

As previously said, crims are on the losing side by nature, they chose to do so, I dont see why LEOs insist on pushing more Ls towards criminals when they're already punished in all aspects of the server so claiming that crims have a win mentality is crazy. Crims with a win mentality (or generally tired of taking Ls) always stop playing their crim character and start maining PD/SD characters that would grant them an L-free time on the server.

TL;DR: its a game, if X makes people want to quit the server, then stop doing X. Whether it makes sense or not doesnt matter. LEOs say its boring, crims hate it, so why keep it :'D No one is quitting the game if you completely remove house raids as the people who're responsible on gathering the intel and that already have other stuff to fill their time with. But that's my 100% biased, win-mentality, PVP driven, dirty criminal opinion.

However, from previous experiences, we all know this aint gonna happen, IC issue. Yap yap yap.

Why are people playing an RP server to "grind" for assets. Should the main goal of a roleplay server not be to craft storylines or fun interactions? This is an RP server not an MMORPG where you need to min-max everything. If you're spending days, weeks and months grinding that is days, weeks and months spent on minimal player interaction with minimal storycrafting. The server is not about taking Ws or taking Ls.

I'm not blaming me dying on the 200 AP. I knew I was going to die from the start and I just decided to fight. I just think 4-5 headshots with a .50 at that close of range is a little absurd.

Thats literally the problem, you knew you were going to die but decided to shoot anyway. Why not surrender and save yourself the time/fines. Think less about nerfing something to get a win and instead more about "how could /I/ have played this differently".

You could argue you wanted to have fun and shoot just for shits and giggles but then you also have to accept the consequences of your own actions. You took a fight that you KNEW was a losing battle and still find a way to complain about it.

I'll say that I'm not sure that they necessarily want the IC info relayed OOCly, but I will say that I think there's a big disconnect somewhere from detectives to the rest of the server.

Detectives to my knowledge don't have their own scripts that they can actually use outside of very minor things like checking prints, matching bullets to guns, and tracking phones from what I understand. While I could totally be wrong on that, I genuinely don't think that they really have much else and if they do; it's very little and probably not worth mentioning here. All of the things detectives do (finding addresses, stalking crims, surveying areas, arresting crims, etc.) are pretty much available for everyone else to do, you just have to have the proper IC routes to take.

Scriptly I genuinely don't think they have much more than any other cop.

See you seem to understand it.

I personally don't think there is a disconnect between people that make detective and the rest of the server. Making detective, (at least in PD) - is a long journey that filters out a lot of people. Not only do you have to be in the department long enough to achieve a certain rank, you also need to go through the detective training program which can last multiple months. That is two filters that knocks out anyone that can't get into the mindset for it.

There's not much that a person set into the detective branch in the F4 menu has different than a regular law enforcement officer. You hit the hammer on the head there with your explanation. A lot of the "gotcha" moments that you get when you deal with detectives is mostly due to hard work, elbow grease and a sprinkle of outside-the-box thinking.

I'll be honest. The ballistics system is wack, the lack of script supported GSR tests is wack and the lack of forensics script is wack. I think fixing the ballistic system and the addition of the latter two things I mentioned there would help people in game a lot. Less /me and /do and more script support for things that ultimately might put a player in prison for a long time. Having to /me and /do forensics and GSR really leaves people with a sour taste as it feels like a chess match trying to see who wins by wording things better.

To reiterate my original post, I think the original discussion here was posted with mal-intent. Lets be honest, nobody needs to know IC procedures of anyone in an OOC matter other than administrators. Why should I as a cop be informed of how the drop system works without finding out through in-character means. Why does a criminal need to know how a player business works without finding out through in-character means. Why does a civilian need to know how investigations are performed without finding out through in-character means?  I feel like using the guise of "WE MUST KNOW HOW DETECTIVES OPERATE OOCLY SO WE CAN SUGGEST THINGS" is just a huge straw man and tu quoque.

Based and true, the counter-argument (i think) would be:

    - Players don't feel like they can properly RP a retaliation without first having to check a dozen boxes regarding OOC DM/KOS rules, which they feel retracts from the IC experience. (e.g A gang gets raided by two known gang detectives, that gang can't just pull up and do a drive-by on these Detectives without a word)

    - The very nature of players being able to respawn, even with NLR, effectively means that someone can't just be dealt with via an IC death, which makes criminal players feel like the best recourse is to try and get that person fired via an IA report

    Glad you agree!

First bullet point, you hit the nail on the head with that one. The DM rule needs to be reworked. I have no issues being shot at as an LEO. I think people needing an entire storyline and a university level thesis to be able to shoot someone is ridiculous. I don't expect anyone I have IC beef with to have to check boxes to be able to kill me.

I'll RP as the type of detective to roll up to a gang block by myself and shoot-the-shit, talk smack playfully etc. Anyone in OTF can vouch for that @Chris_. Can they shoot me over it? Sure. Would I get mad if that did OOCly? No! Would their actions have consequences IN-CHARACTER though? ABSOLUTELY.

I've been shot on sight by @PhenomenalX many times, I have not reported him a single time. If I survive, I'll get my get-back in game. If I spawn at pillbox then I take the L and move on.

As long as people realize actions in game have consequences in game then I think the server would be in a better state.

    __________

Second bullet point, I think NLRing someone is enough get-back in my honest opinion. Trying to get someone fired spirals to out-of-character hatred real fast if left unchecked. Not saying everyone turns bitter, but I have seen some bitter players file IA reports just because they have OOC hatred for others.

  15. The craziest part to me about this entire conversation is players roleplaying as cop killers relying on internal affairs to handle their issues. As if someone like that would ever go through the internal affairs process.

I think a lot of people forget they're playing characters and their characters actions have consequences, they should also play their characters in a way that cop killers and hardened gangsters would. When someone that just finished shooting and murdering 3 cops on a scene gets shot down and the first thing they scream is "BADGE NUMBERS", it kind of turns into a joke at that point.

Same thing with people posting forum reports. Ive seen so many players that want to PVP, have every intention to PVP and even attempt to bait shootouts that get shot earlier than expected and then they immediately go to forum reports. I have personally witnessed someone get a gun pulled on them at a lab, they SLOWLY drive away, WAIT FOR THE PERSON THAT PULLED ON THEM TO GET IN THEIR CAR, do a loop in place to let them catch up, then only when the person catches up do they drive off. Then they get shot before their gang can set up and ambush and they immediately cry DM.

Its a plague in the community. RP your cop killer properly in game and stop crying to internal affairs, stop getting salty your enemies send you to pillbox.
