The Beginning
Dante has always lived a life of crime, but not by choice. He was born into one of the largest crime families in Russia. This world is all he has ever known, some would say he was born with a stolen golden spoon in his mouth and a stack of dirty money in his hand. He grew up with a father that was his idol, his role model and learned early on the inner workings of his family business. He did pretty good with the ladies too, a lovely but strong minded wife at home and a couple of easy going, ever pleasing girlfriends on the side. The wife looks the other way because that is just how it works in Dante's world. His son, soon to follow in his footsteps too, his daughter who is beautiful and strong willed, like her mother. Life is good. Damn right. He never saw it coming though. The bomb, the explosion, the sheer devastation that took out his entire family. His Mama and Papa, his wife, his kids and his mental stability. That day it was all over, that day ended everything for him. He took his moment of grief but something happened inside him that moved beyond grief, something snapped and he became almost non human, losing all emotion and sense of caring. He had to get out of that city though, get away from the memories, take his messed up mind to some new place. It was then he would find Los Santos.
The Underground
When first arriving in Los Santos his goals were simple. Avoid people. All of them. Keep to himself and try not to let the inner grief and turmoil out. It worked for some time but people in this city were bold and brave and pretty much getting into each other’s faces. It was unavoidable. Contacts started to be made and not all of them were above the table. The undergrounds of the society found him, as he knew deep down they would. The gangs of the city seemed to be a magnet to him and he was drawn into the lifestyle before he even knew what was happening. One gang in particular stood out. The Rooks. Sleek, smart, sly and successful. Before he knew it he was part of their group and immediately his ambitions kicked in. Wealth, power and control. There was no doubt they all would be his.
The Rise
In a short period of time after stepping on the Lost Santos soil he was right back in the game again. Gun and drug running, gambling, extortion, prison and of course women. Almost as if he had never left it to begin with. Almost as though he had not even lost his family. But he had lost them. But now, instead of circling in his grief he used his pain as fuel to push him forward, push him forward towards his certain goals.
The Family
The Rooks replaced the family he had lost. They became the family he would be part of and grow with. As he slowly moved towards the top the pride would swell within him. The connections he would make throughout the city would prove invaluable to his success as well. From criminals to cabbies to just the average Joes, everyone knows Dante. He has arrived here in this city and in no short time has left his mark.
Loyalty
Many times, as Dante stands hovering over a pile of dead cops he thinks back to the time when he started as an Associate. Not even that long ago. But now, as the Rooks’s Congisliere, and right hand to the Boss he looks around with power and pride on his chest at the men who follow him. He amazes himself in fact, how he took such pain and destruction and turned it into success. If they only knew his past. If they only knew what brought him here. But that didn’t matter now, what matters is that he is here and he has earned his way up the ranks with hard work and dedication.
Success
But Dante’s talents are not limited to the Rooks. His personal ambitions and entrepreneur drive pushed him forward to start up a semi legal gun running business, a gas station as well as a private gentleman’s club. He is a man of all trades, he has his hands in everything and the ladies are no exception. They would find him irresistible by his charm and good looks and he laps it up and used it as well to fuel his successes.
The Right Hand
The days are long and the gruel can often be brutal but at night when Dante lays his head to rest he does so with satisfaction. Though sleeping with one eye open is never a pleasant thing, he smiles still in knowing he has become Dimitri’s trusted right hand man and the absolute best choice to help run the family.
