  1. I keep putting this on the market, then changing my mind. I'll be out of town for a few days, so I've given it to my real estate agent to sell. You can pick it up for $235k. The house is unlocked, so if you want to see the inside feel free to walk in. It's on the ground floor, South East corner of the complex. The working garage on the street is all yours for privacy parking. ((one of the very few that work in that garage))

There's a nice community pool, and the place is directly across the street from the back bank parking. There's also a lot of parking available on the West side of the building right next to the bank in case you decide to throw a pool party.

I am not accepting offers, if you want it, go pick it up. Otherwise, I will keep it. Thanks for looking.

My point was, there is no real benefit other than gun imports, which again, are accessible through RP regardless. There are tons of players with huge stashes of guns and ammo. It makes it more organized and that's all. Being able to see who's online and offline and who's inactive and who isnt. The treasury can be easily maintained without an F4 Menu, (Book keeper type of rank). Everything you can do with the F4 menu, you can do without it. We are meant to oversee other gangs, to be the pillar of organized crime. Everything people complain about when it comes to us is the same thing we're supposed to be doing. We are meant to police unofficial gangs and police are meant to keep us in check, that's the food chain and it has to be that way.

Yes, sometimes you see us convoying up and causing destruction to another gang but that's because we're quite literally doing our job. If we feel like they no longer should exist, then we wipe them out and give room for other gangs to take their place. If we got uncontrolled and completely out of line 24/7, PD will do the same thing to us.

I'm not sure why you are arguing your point to me. I have been on your side throughout the entire thread. XD

I think anyone should be able to create a faction and have the advantiges of using a faction bank/chat and all of that, maybe as you get bigger you gain contacts which allow you to get gun imports, but everyone should have access to create a faction that gets a faction bank and all that jazz

To my knowledge, the system used to be much more like this. I don't know the specifics exactly, but I know there were many more factions. However, that was before my time. So I can't really speak on it. I'm not sure what worked, and what didn't work, that caused the change.

I agree with most of what you said. But my argument is that the power dynamics between gangs should be exclusively done RP'ly and not script-wise. In other words, yes gangs who have been through a lot and have dedicated a lot of time and money should be at the top, but this should be achieved through RP, having little to no perks or advantages from being in the F4 menu.

I don't see why we can't have other gangs that have their own faction chat, treasury, etc.. Or why these things aren't just available to everyone. At the end of the day these are mechanics that say nothing about the quality of RP and serve as an advantage. I would love to see this shifting to advantages gotten via excellent roleplay and not just because X gang has access to a script that gives them an advantage.

That's why I made a suggestion with regards to turfs a month or so ago.

I get where you're coming from, and here is my counter. Just for reference, I am not in any official faction.

Police, Weazel, DCC, SD, DOC, etc all have a script advantage. There are scripts in place that allow them to do whatever specific job they have to do on top of the standard Treasury and script based wages. In my opinion, it doesn't make sense to take away a gangs official script advantage, yet keep advantages for "government factions".

If I were to decide I wanted to start a legal business today and work it into an official legal faction, those already established have a much easier time than I. It's a long grind, and I'm at a disadvantage due to no treasury or scripts to help maintain payments, jobs, etc. I think looking at the big picture, in my opinion, it's either all okay, or none of it is okay.

If we want to argue regarding factions in general, I think there's some merit. But I don't believe taking away only illegal factions script advantage is right.

    +1/-1

I think it's a bit hypocritical to criticize the RP of gangs when defending PD and their RP reasons for essentially being superior. Both have their own merits and both are adapting to situations in-character.

Having said this, I do not like that the only two official gangs on the server are allied. However, my reason for disliking it isn't because of the RP, but because I think there shouldn't be such a big barrier to entry to becoming an official gang, especially considering the advantage official gangs have.

If a group of players wants to create a gang, have a faction chat and be able to use the same perks official gangs have right now, then they should be able to do this, maybe by paying X amount to create the gang slot, as it stands becoming official gives you a ton of advantages which I don't see any reason to keep behind a script.

In that regard, my proposal would be to somehow allow groups access to the perks official gangs get (either by allowing them to create an official gang themselves on the F4 menu or by making the ability to recruit, import weapons, etc... publicly available to anyone who has enough money to dish out.)

The gangs that are official, have become so for a reason. It's a goal to achieve, and work for. Look at groups like The Wanted that have been around for months and still are not official. I personally don't see a point in adding an easy pathway to heavy weaponry, treasury, and faction chat. You want the gangs with access to heavies to respect their position, and make sure it's something they don't want to lose. Otherwise, the server becomes overly choatic. I want to see people earn it, not buy it.

Just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.

  6. Hey, congratulations! I think that house is missing some storage, so if I'd be willing to give you back 5-10k so you can buy some storage containers. Give me a ring at 216-5777

  7. I'd like to see the ability to change house interiors for a credit fee. Obviously, it would be restricted to garage amount we currently have and would just allow us to choose between new interiors of houses and old ones of the same garage size. Afaik there is no alternate 4g interior, but i'm sure one could be found fairly easily.

I'm not sure if this is something that can be done on the fly based on Rage functionality. But it's something I'd definitely spend a few shekels on that doesn't allow for any sort of pay2win imo.

    Opinions?

This should be moved to Suggestions, This is a great idea. In real life there is bail bondsmen / bounty hunters who do have backgrounds, and felonies. Ex : Dog the bounty hunter

It would be great to have this type be a real faction, with organization and rules to follow. Allowing civilians with felony backgrounds but having the proper requirements become a bounty hunter / Bail bondsmen.

Just for clarity, felons can't write surety bonds, but they can bounty hunt in some states. Every bond company is backed by a Surety company, which does an in-depth background check prior to allowing the specific agent to write any bonds. This is why you never actually see Dwayne Chapman write (sign) the physical bonds, it's always done by his sons and/or wife.

Also, the side note of a bail bonds company is if you can't acquire the individual to get them back for court in the predetermined about of days set by the court, you are then liable for the bond. Without the functionality of the court system, hearings, attorneys, and judges, it's hard to implement a bail bonds company since there's nothing for them to show up to.

I think step one, before this can be a possibility, is we need to work towards a court system of some sort.

Yeah, so a non violent possession charge got expunged after YEARS. I can agree to that.

However the vast majority of felonious criminals on our server are violent and routinely commit said crimes. If this is a program to pardon one-off non-violent offenders, then it should be stated more clearly, because I don't want to give life-long felons a clean criminal record.

I get where you’re coming from. I don’t think you should be able to shoot a bunch of police and go get a job a week later at LSC either.

But I really respect the idea of a pathway to redemption for criminals. Even if it’s a long and tedious process (months) I don’t think it’s a black and white position, and I’d like to see discussion rather than both sides digging their heels into the ground.

It allows for vertical and horizontal progression rather than just trying to become the best criminal you can be. It also, in my opinion, could open up story lines.

By no means do I expect you to agree with me, and that’s okay. You have different experiences from me both oocly and icly. I don’t have to agree with someone’s opinion to respect it. I just feel like we get into these cop vs robber arguments all the time and both sides fail to find a common ground.

I used to kill a cop every time my faction evaded and their car got disabled, but now through character development I should have a clear criminal record and be able to legally possess a firearm license. Does that sound right to you?

I’m not sure why you insist on taking something to the extreme in an attempt to make a point. So instead, I will get personal with my own life.

I’m a felon. I was convinced of felony drug and weapon charges in 2008 and was sentenced to 60 months in prison. I spent 3.5 years of that 60 month sentence in DOC.

When I got out, most of society had the same things to say as you. The same judgements to make, and the same stereotypical archetypes.

I got out, went to college, got a degree, and finally did enough that I was able to get a job as an IT Engineer for a Fortune 500 company. I worked my way up from an Engineer to an IT director.

Throughout that, I had my firearms rights restored (it took 5 days and zero court appearances), I’ve had charges vacated and expunged in two states. People make mistakes. If you don’t allow them an opportunity to correct them, recidivism rates are directly impacted. Like it or not, ECRP is a mini world with real world problems.

So before you go to the extreme to make a point, understand that some of us have lived this.

I’m sitting here typing this on my corporate work phone, as someone who manages a department of IT professionals, with a legal Glock 43x concealed in my waistband...As a felon...

Thing is, nobody is limited to one character. You're always free to create another one and be more careful on that one. We're all here to RP and develop our characters, so it makes little sense that a characters crimes would be wiped clean just because you want them to be. If you became a felon, willingly or not, that's just a consequence you'll have to deal with.

Going from a criminal to a productive member of society is character development. Character development doesn't have to be from good to bad, it can be from bad to good also.
