I personally think being able to trade credits is much like RWT. At the end of the day, being able to trade real money for wealth in-game feels P2W.

Credit vehicles have the benefit of not being able to be sold and/or traded. As soon as you let in the trade of credits people start trading them for things that can be sold/traded IG.

Michael, and his brother Dillon, used to own a bail bonds company together back home named Reese Bail Bonds. The brothers were very close growing up, and went into business together in their early 20s. Mike handled most of the bond jumping, while Dillon primarily focused on the in-house duties of writing surety bonds, and managerial duties.

Business was booming, and Mike felt like he was unstoppable. At times, he felt like he was above the law due to the relationships he had built at PD as a bail agent, and the criminal relationships he had built as a bondsman. Mike pushed the envelope a bit more as each passing week came and went. To track a criminal requires one to think like a criminal. Unfortunately, the relationships he had built with the criminals had to intersect with the shallow relationships he had built with PD at some point.

That eventually came to a head, and Mike was arrested on attempted trafficking charges. Mike was forced to serve a 10 year sentence for his crimes, and the surety company that backed Reese Bail Bonds forced Dillon to remove Mike from the company. Mike lost everything... The houses, the cars, the business. Everything gone. Mike needed a new beginning.

They hand't seen each other much over the years. Dillon was so preoccupied taking care of the business that he didn't have much free time to travel across the state to see Mike in prison. However, upon release from prison Dillon picked him up, he wasn't going to forget about his little brother. He picked up Mike and brought him a duffel bag full of clothes and $1,500. He knew Mike didn't have a chance to succeed back home, so he dropped him off at the Greyhound bus station, and they said their goodbyes.

Mike arrived in Los Santos with a few measly dollars, a duffel bag of clothes, a chip on his shoulder, and already a felon who was going to struggle finding any worthwhile employment.

Mike arrived in town, and got a job as a postal worker. The pay was terrible, the hours were horrendous, and the job was deathly boring. It was better than prison, but rush of adrenaline on daily basis was missing. Mike would spend his days working for Go Postal, and his nights trying to figure what the hell he was doing. This wasn't enough, but his criminal record was already tarnished so who was going to hire him?

Mike was on duty delivering packages and walked by a Warraner in Rockford Hills, as he peered through the window he noticed that the car looked like it was unlocked. Mike was sketpical, but he didn't have much to lose. He waited until he got off work at Go Postal, drove the beat up car he had been working days on end for to Rockford Hills to see if that car he had seen earlier in the day was still there. It was there...Mike realized this was a defining moment in his future. If he stole this car, there was no going back. He had flashes of his old life. The nice cars, the women, the drugs, the excitement of the hunt. Mixed in with those flashes were mental images of the drab gray concrete walls he spent so much time in, locked both physically and mentally away from society.

Mike opened the car door, and popped open the trunk. Inside sat more weed than he could carry with his hands. His eyes glowing with excitement, and his palms sweating, he stuffed his pockets to the brim with the weed, filled up the trunk of his car, and left the little bit he couldn't take behind. Maybe it was fate, maybe luck, but in a single unlocked car he found more drugs than he knew what to do with. But there was one problem, what the hell was he supposed to do with it now?

Mike spent some time trying to sell small bags of pot for a few hundred dollars around town. It wasn't paying well, and it was putting no dent into the stash he had accumulated from that car. He had met a guy previously named Conor who he thought may be interested in buying it all. He made a phone call to Conor, and conor offered to take most of it.

Conor rolled up in an orange sports car riding passenger with a guy who he later found out was Dewey Lewis. Mike didn't know if he was going to be robbed, or it was going to go smoothly. He was unfamiliar with gangs in the city, and had seen the orange guys before. He didn't know their name, but he knew they had nice cars and money. Two things mike was lacking.

Mike did the deal with Conor, and Dewey and Conor asked if he would be interested in hanging out with The Wanted. Mike didn't know what to expect, but what did he have to lose?

One of Mike's first days hanging out he met MJ, Carter, Dirk, Acid, and Owl. They took him up to an excluded area near the observatory where they took turns getting branded with Wanted marks. Those who didn't get branded had "The Wanted" carved into their skin with Carter's blade. This is when Mike realized how deep the loyalty went. The cars were nice, but cars and money fade. Loyalty is forever. Mike Made the decision he would work to be in The Wanted.

Mike eventually received his colors after a shootout with the police at a chop shop. He proved his loyalty, and The Wanted trusted him. He was arrested for his first time in a long while for street racing and sent to a cell in PD. The smell of cleaning supplies wafting up from the cold concrete floor (a scent of Pinesol), voices from the cell next to him echoing off the concrete walls, and the anxiety of not being in control. It was a bleek reminder of what he left behind. Mike made the decision he was going to play it smart, and try to avoid going back as much as possible. Prison isn't a place you want to be, and Mike knew that first hand. This was a reminder that reinforced those emotions.

Mike was still a Buster when a large war broke out with Zetas, Clowns, Irish, Marcellos and The Wanted. Mike disagreed with the reasons for being in the war, but he had faith in the leadership above him that they were making the right decision. The war was brutal. Lives were lost, blood was shed, loyalty was betrayed, and lines were drawn in the sand. Mike had been to prison, and had seen criminal life. But never anything like this. He had never seen friends turn their backs, or brothers shot in cold blood. As the war went on, Mike slowly became less effected by it. Almost as if it had become normal. With each friend lost, and each betrayal done, he put up a wall and stopped letting people in.

After the war was over, Mike was moved to an official gang member. Jamaar thanked those who lived through the war for their service, and made all those who lived official members. Mike worked his way through the ranks, mostly keeping to himself. He was eventually dubbed "Prison Mike" due to the past criminal history by Johnny Falcon, a Wanted OG.

Mike continued hustling whatever deals he could during the day to earn a buck. At night, he got together with the boys and would race. Racing was the only thing that made him forget all the pain, struggle, and anguish he'd been through in life. The growl of the engine, hiss of the intake, whine of the turbo, and the mixed smells of gasoline and oil became intoxicating. It was it's own form of therapy. A much needed escape to relax and unwind.

  3. Please shoot me pic and price of location. I don't need anything too extravagant for the purpose I'm using it for. Leave info below, email me at ((Brawnkoh#4775)) @eclipse-rp.net, or shoot me a text at 216-5777.

  4. I believe it's a plethora of issues stacked on top of each other that caused the feelings mentioned above. None of the below bullet points are bad changes, and they all improve the quality of server in my opinion. However, stacking all on top in such a short succession has caused a bit of a lopsided balance swing in my personal opinion. I try to imagine it like a Grandfather clock. The pendulum was swinging too far in the crim side, and now it's swung too far in the other direction. We want it to sit in the middle somewhere. However, "the middle" is a rather subjective term, and I'm not sure where that is.

    1. - Decrease in welfare
    2. - A increase in living costs due to food/water/gps/maps
    3. - A second increase in living costs due to player owned stores, and the general cost increase of many items in player owned stores.
    4. - Reduction in crime due to increased sentencing (this is purely anecdotal, I don't have any evidence to back this up)
    5. - Increase in police presence? (I'm not sure if this is an actual increase, or just that police have less things to occupy their time vs before.)

I believe the combination of all of these things has made it extremely hard to RP as a criminal. To me, the risk vs. reward feels misaligned. I feel like I have to choose between RP, or out grinding for money. Many of us have gone to legal jobs because it's extremely hard to survive without them.

I can only speak from my own personal experiences, but I know for us (the people I am around), most of our RP is non-monetary. So we have to decide, do we want to RP, or do we want to grind? Most of us choose to RP, which has led to many of us just barely getting by. If that is the goal, and it may be, then everything is working as intended.

Beyond the aforementioned changes, the feeling of increased law enforcement (whether real or imaginary), as well as the increase in sentencing, has also caused us to require more people to do the same actions (more lookouts, security, runners, etc). Due to this, criminal activities are split among more people, which results in less pay for everyone involved yet the risk of jail is increased.

When we go to jail and/or prison, we earn nothing. The time we spend committing criminal activities should take this into account. Fishing, trucking, or even most Faction jobs shouldn't pay the same or more, than criminal activity as these individuals do not risk their freedom at their day-to-day jobs. Sentencing is something that is taken into account with criminals in the real world, we should be forced to take it into account now as well.

But if I'm going to make more money as a mechanic, and barely get by as a crim, even if crim is where my heart is as RP. Feeling "forced" to do something, or play a certain way, feels discouraging. Hopefully the next patch will give us more things to do, and bring the pendulum a bit more back to center.

  5. Date and time (provide timezone): Recurring bug - Not a specific time required

    Character name: Michael Reese

Issue/bug you are reporting:  Last night I had someone oocly ask if I had noticed any varying differences on timer length IC. Thaddeus_Grey had mentioned that Ariana_Grey's timer seemed to take much longer than his to complete tasks such as accessing inventories, houses, chopping cars, etc. Due to this, I tested it with them, as well as Jamaar_Bovarium. 4 of us attempted to open a bag at the exact same time. 3 of us were pretty close (within 1-2 seconds of opening the bag). Ariana_Young took roughly 8 seconds longer to open the same bag. While this isn't so bad on inventories, chopping cars (or anything with a long timer) makes an extremely drastic difference.

Expected behavior:  Timers should be the same for all parties as to not provide anyone with an advantage and/or disadvantage.

Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate

Get multiple people from different areas of the globe to all attempt to open a bag at the same time, timers will have a variance.

I'm used to playing on fivem servers all this is new for me. Any help with some basic controls would be appreciated. Here are my issues:

All I know really is /anim

How can I point? (Cannot find)

How can I put my hands up ?

Why do most people have above their heads ((new player))?

    Car headlights/seatbelt?

Where to buy bandages or how to heal?

My character is a chain smoker. The smoke animation is terrible. There isn't even a cigarette. Is there another one I don't know about?

Changing my push to talk key does not work. Is that not changeable?

A list of many commands can be found IG by pressing F5.

To follow up with your questions:

Pointing can be done by holding the B key, and hands up is done by hitting CTRL+1.

Players with less than 5000 XP have New Player above their head which protects them from being robbed as long as they are not inserting themselves into active crime scenes.

We do not have a seatbelt script, but headlights can he controlled with H.

Healing is done by filling up on food and water (it's gradual) or you can go to MD and many times they will help you.

There is only one animation for cigarettes (and one for marijuana).

The only way I know of to accomplish changing keys is to use software to bind current keys to other keys. I don't believe this can be changed specifically in RAGE.

If there's anything else I can help with, let me know.

Some one lowlife thug gang member being arrested should not call for gang members to shoot at police officers. And we will see a change in mentality with this system. Criminals hopefully won’t risk it for their buddies due to the new system.

Some lowlife gang member? To us, those people are our brothers and sisters. Just like the officers you trust with your life in the line of duty are to you. We build bonds with those characters, and care about them.

Words (and perceptions) like this are why we are against police being judge, juror, and executioner. You are making it more clear than ever that you are not capable of being unbiased enough to be in a position to jail someone for days on end.

I've seen several wanted races where they got permits, and even though police was present to observe they did not interfere, no one was arrested and the races went through smoothly. I don't see how having police present in a civilized city at a large gathering of individuals is painted negatively. Unless you plan on breaking laws while racing, which is not OP was talking about.

Hard to gamble on street races with police there Alex 🙂

I took a quick look around the server and I noticed that most criminal activites is run by gangs, I fear this is gonna turn into a cops and robbers. Instead you could have an official faction about racing just like in LSRP. For those who dont know what URL is, Underground Racing League was a faction back in the golden days of LSRP that didnt associate with guns but criminal activities through cars. Basicly chop shops, organized illegal races (customization is a big thing here so I am surprised you dont have this), and protection was run by them without guns but passion for the road. Back then we even had some car mods rendered as illegal so that the cops could pull you over for that matter. Make it happen bois, I can pull up an old thread or two if needed. Dont turn yet another rp server into cops and robbers. 😄

Vehicle mods are something The Wanted has been discussing internally, but we aren't sure how to propose it in a way that both criminals and police can meet in the middle on. We do a lot of street races, and have been trying to lean away from the standard crim RP. But it's a real struggle doing these things without police getting involved, and we still haven't been real great about finding a way to monetize these actions, or come up with a safe place to have them.

Obviously, I am all for this. However, there has to be a middle ground to meet with the police. They won't be happy with even faster cars on the roads.

As far as chops go, that's our primary form of income currently, we RP taking vehicles apart for customers, etc. But it's not enough for our guys to survive solely on that.

  10. 28 minutes ago, MReefer said:

Well those who do want to RP smart criminals will generally not even be that affected by this. That, we should agree does work the same as irl.

I see your point about the wrong sentences. This is something we will obviously have to step up ourselves, coming down harder on people giving false charges, handling IA reports quicker, even if it means taking on more officers to do so (whatever the solution may end up being). I fully acknowledge that this change won't just make things different for you guys, but the police will have to adapt the right ways for the servers sake as well.

To be completely honest, this change really doesn't affect me the same way it does other guys. I don't see my RP changing, because I have never been one of those guys with 40 reckless charges, I pull over when I see red and blues, and I'm not doing blatantly obvious crime (or chain crimes).

I completely agree with you guys on the 120 max being too low. I think the shell shock from many comes from the series of several jail nerfs at once. The pendulum swung from too far left, to too far right, instead of sitting in the middle somewhere (solely my opinion). No AFK timer, and excessive sentences being rolled out at the same time can be disheartening without knowing any of the specifics of stamps and working in prison for these guys.

I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle of the two. It wasn't perfect before, and it isn't perfect now. Crime was way too rampant. But also, without crime, you guys wouldn't have jobs.

Far too often I feel like these conversations are just crims vs. cops arguing a point with their heels dug in the ground on both sides. It's far too often that both sides are too far in each direction to have a rational conversation. So, I appreciate your candor.

  11. Just now, MReefer said:

The entire city doesn't make sense compared to the real world though. The characters in this city have mindsets nowhere close to the majority of people that do things in real life. If gangs and criminals irl operated like they do in this city there would be marshall law.

Last time we met, do you remember? You were driving your super, and you ran out of gas. Not all crims are as bad as you make them out to be. Many of us do want to RP.

The next problem is, what if I get a 6 hour sentence on suspect charges or crooked cops? It's happened before to me, but what now? I file an IA and wait for how long? I serve 6 hours of my life (multiple IRL days if I play 3 hours a day) because a biased officer said I did something that I may or may not have done? I got murdered by your force just a couple days ago trying to give up, without ever pointing my gun at any officer. These are the same guys who get to decide how what/how to charge crims as judge, juror, and executioner.

It's a very clear conflict of interest. I don't see how that doesn't seem like a problem to you with no attorneys, judicial system, etc.

  12. 1 minute ago, MReefer said:

Then you get the following scenario

Player X gets a reckless driving charge, player X now things well fuck it, I'm in trouble for that I'll just drive like I'm in Fast & Furious from now on as any further reckless charges will run concurrently anyway.

Which is why I stated singulars should be increased. I'm open to meeting in the middle on the topic at any time, as such, maybe reducing numerous counts. But if you have a bunch of the same charge, it flat out shouldn't be a 1:1 consecutive sentence. It doesn't make sense in the real world, and it doesn't make sense here.

  13. I don't really think they should go back to 120 max. But I will say, very rarely, do prison sentences run consecutively. If you are charged with 3 crimes, (one is 1 year sentence, one is 2  years, and one is 3 years) you don't go to prison for 6 years. you go to prison for the highest amount, and it runs concurrently with the other crimes.

I would like to see crimes of the same nature ran concurrently, except maybe violent crime. I don't believe someone should get 20 hours for 40 non-violent reckless driving charges. Prison times for singular charges should be increased, and non-violent charges that are repetitive should be ran concurrent.

  14. I haven't posted this because I'm struggling to forcefully replicate it.

Date and time (provide timezone): Typically happens between 12 AM - 8 AM PST

    Character name: Michael Reese

Issue/bug you are reporting:  Several times over the past week, my vehicles have been unparked from the garage of one of my locations. Both of them are never unparked automatically on thier own, only one. This also only appears to be happening at 1 of my 3 homes. It may happen because I move vehicles around a lot, as I have more vehicles than parking spots. So potentially successive vehicle movements in a garage may cause it.

Expected behavior:  Cars should stay parked in garage after parking them

Evidence, notes worth mentioning, steps to replicate

This has happened several times over the past week, none of which were after the recent rollback yesterday, or after server resets. 4-5 times that I can remember specifically. I will continue to monitor, and start taking a screenshot of my vehicles before I log off every night in an attempt to document with better evidence.
