People get bored tbh, there needs to be more petty crimes for crims and maybe a harder progression system so people have something to work towards. Right now, most of the activities are not worth doing (either because of boring mechanics such as the circle skill check or they simply don't pay enough).
Most crims won't appreciate me saying this but labs pay out WAY too much money. If i go in at the right time of day, you can make a couple hundred thousand uncontested in a short amount of time. No other activity pays out anywhere near that. Banks, stores, and chopping are only really good when you do them solo, because when you add more people, the payout is minimal (at least when you compare it to what you make in labs). Its no surprise that when you check forum reports, a large portion of them come from lab activities because people get bored and just go there to PVP.
Petty crimes will allow people to complete quick tasks, make some money, and then switch up what they do next. Some examples would be robbing mail boxes, shoplifting (lifting stuff off shelves instead of sticking up the cashier), maybe when we get NPCs add pickpocketing for small cash sums or pawn items.
