I'll keep it short and sweet, just my own thoughts on the current system: A lot of hard work goes into running an illegal faction, from the weekly forum posts, administration, logs, OOC meetings, announcements, yada yada yada it really does take dedication and commitment. If you have a bad month or perhaps miss a forum post, you can look forward to a scolding in the FM meetings which you then pass on to each and every member to make sure they understand too. A demotion may be on the cards as well which took you months and months of hard work to get, gone just like that (not saying that demotions aren't deserved as sometimes this is the only way to really get that message across to a faction that things cant go on how they have been). PD/SD don't know this feeling, or at least, majority wont. So my suggestion is that PD/SD and perhaps even GND, follow the tier guide too - i would personally love to see weekly stories from GND and what they have been up to. Instead when i look at PD/SD faction thread all i see is photo dumping which..... we would get a bollocking for if we did that. The balance needs to start OOCly, and with the amount of members these factions/ departments have i cant see why this would be an issue, with different people needing to contribute weekly. Perhaps they would have their own different types of benefits when they tier up they get access to certain specialised weapons or better AP or better heli - im not sure i havent thought that far, but it then puts the responsibility of providing great RP & following server rules on every member of that faction if they also had a tier system. With great power comes great responsibility Note: I realise i am very much biased towards the crim community so i tend not to comment on things like this, i haven't got a cop character so i don't fully understand or even know what goes on behind the scenes, but in regards to the below quote made by @Bala "I don't see the same sort of energy from criminal factions to ensure their members don't behave like shitheads. Whether that's dipping too much into /b, whether that is continuing to run over and over after being tased or talking shit about factions in Discord." Please ask for perms in any illegal faction discord and you will see the amount of messages and announcements that are made to each and every individual member when a situation arises that's deemed unacceptable. Have a look at the strike logs, the comments from HC members, the faction chats addressing these situations head on, the player logs about people who have been kicked after being given so many chances to improve - we can only do so much, everyone has their own individual personality and we are not babysitters but i can promise you everyone is trying their best to behave for the sake of the amount of hours that people have put into creating and maintaining a faction OOCly, as i'm sure this is the case for PD/SD as well.

+1 any update on this? Trying to go undercover as a female crim is really hard unless you get people to shave you first. Just want to wear the t-shirt mask!
