Job Promotions

I like all of the jobs equally in their own aspects as they all pass time differently, and depending on how busy my day is going to be in real life it's extremely handy to have a bunch of jobs laid out that i can choose to do that will fit around my real time schedule. For example, if i need to head out at a certain time but have a couple of hours to kill, i'll pick something safe like fishing so i can turn the game off at any time without affecting my salary or worry about a bandit thieving my times worth in crops. If i have a whole weekend to myself, i'll choose to grind out farming knowing i have the time and attention the job needs to fulfill the tasks and not worry too much about losing a crop or two in the process. In weekdays i might choose to either courier or truck as it's easy, i have work the next day & don't want to spend too much time playing without roping myself into an extra hour trying to round up my salary. Anyway enough about me, i'm sure others choose how they spend their time in Los Santos based on their real life schedules too and more to the point Job Promotions. I'm sure a lot of folks would agree as much as it is great to have a selection of jobs at hand, once you've done the jobs for a while it feels a little bit meaningless, other than the salary there's not much of a plateau to reach. Especially for me as it's not all about money or just about money. I'd like to think i'm doing the job to reach something, another skill level? or a promotion, something with a few added perks. Less waiting times, faster loading and unloading. The perks with job promotions can be anything. I personally would like to see something added that rewards the player for continuously doing a job they like and being able to become better at the job, or adding new additions to a job the player can do after reaching a certain skill level.

Non-faction jobs are deliberately less desirable than faction jobs, because they involve virtually zero interactive RP. If you want promotions, do a faction job, and do it well. Your salary progress in those doesn't reset just from logging off for the night, so you can resume later.

I Appreciate the comment but that really wasn't my point. As far as i'm aware none of the jobs salary progress reset at all so i don't know what you mean by that. My point for this post is being able to get better at a job you enjoy. I enjoy them all for their own reasons but they all become tedious. To counter that problem i do believe adding skill levels to a job and perks with each level would give the player incentive to want to continue in their chosen job. Maybe something like SAMP horizonRP.

Not really. I don't think i have a schedule that fits around a faction job. I respect your opinion but i disagree, personally i prefer those jobs as apose to being a cop or a medic and being a crook jist lands you in jail so i think they could do with additions to the jobs in place rather than adding extra mini jobs that people should just quit.

I agree up to a point, the current jobs are shit. If there would be more interesting stuff I would support your idea. Currently it would be a bad idea

It's an open topic from my perspective, i'm not going to rule what should & shouldn't be included as it all depends on the economy and how this would balance with faction jobs too, which i think should be included. Now we've moved to ragemp it would be nice to see ways to further careers rather than just grinding for a paycheck. Maybe add picking apples in farming, more crops to harvest at certain levels, which would probably attract thieves that haven't reached that skill level to steal your crops. If you own a boat maybe you could hold more fish & fish in different spots for different waiting times that would be ever changing so multiple people aren't huddled in one spot fishing all day. Maybe couriers could deliver lucrative items that shouldn't get damaged & timed against a clock at certain levels to deliver packages. Truckers could be offered loads that are illegal or contracts to complete a selection of loads before being paid.

There's a lot that could be done there's people with better ideas than i can think of and hearing them could be interesting. What would you like to see happen with the jobs? Is this something worth talking about? I don't know that's just my thoughts.
