Pegasus_ Posted February 17, 2021 Report Posted February 17, 2021 Trucking needs a new overhaul, despite it having been updated twice in a short time. The first time was when we switched to 1.1 and sync caused issues with trucks not being able to grab trailers, so we were forced to use the same truck for all purposes, whether it be supplies, guns, fuel or cars. Now, with the depot moving to Paleto, there is no reason to do trucking. Having to go 12 kilometres after picking up a truck just to return to the city is for an order is going to break a system that was already broken, with hourly wages now brought down from maybe 6-8K on a good run to maybe 2K. I think the depot should either be moved back, or just have multiple depots in both Paleto and Los Santos, cause there's no justification for moving the RPly good spots for getting hauls at the docks in Los Santos to a spot inland that doesn't even compare in a small town without anywhere for freight ships to come in. I also think that AI orders should be added in like we had before the business-run orders came into effect, but only have them active when there are no real business orders available. 3
Havana Posted August 15, 2021 Report Posted August 15, 2021 (edited) It's unreasonable to expect people to be interested in civilian life when the career of their choice has no orders for hours on end. When there are no orders from actual businesses, have AI orders spawn in at intervals based on how many truckers are online. If business owners want their orders delivered, they can outprice the AI bids. Or, no more AI bids spawn in until they are done, but I like the first option better, as it's more realistic, introduces actual market pricing (albeit in a limited degree), and costs business owners who desparately need something to spend their money on Also, let trucks fill up independently of you sitting in them. That way you dont have to sit and stare for 10 minutes and can actually engage in RP if you're willing to risk leaving the truck unattended. Sitting still so long that you have to do afk math several times is just bad for an RP server. Maybe it would be better and more realistic if you could just leave the trailer at the drop off and not have to wait to unload it. Unless you own your trailer you also typically won't wait for it to load. You could incentivize people to own their own trucks (and maybe trailers?) by increasing their pay (they don't have to pay rent to a company for truck/trailer), but then having them wait for it to fill. Sitting for 45 minutes watching your truck fill up and empty out only to lose connection and have to do it all over again makes for an awful experience with the server. Please dedicate some time to civilian jobs and maybe try doing it yourself for a few hours. Edited August 16, 2021 by Havana 1

At this time, the interest in your suggestion does not meet the minimum requirements to be considered.
