Yputi Posted August 22, 2020 Report Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) Hey hey, I am not sure if this has been suggested before, as I wasn't able to find it. The suggestion is quite simple. It would be cool, in my opinion, to be able to put bags, crates and suitcases into empty vehicle seats. Right now many people do the RP of putting those items into their seats and stuff and then end up driving with their crates, bags or suitcases in their hands. It just kinda looks weird obviously and sometimes will also create discussions between people if someone actually RP'ed putting it somewhere realistic in the car. Being able to put those items into empty car seats could add some cool features, as people will be able to put bags in their car seats to just simply "expand" capacity of their vehicle withough having to puzzle around. Of course this also means that potential car thieves would be more motivated to break into vehicles because, for example; there are bags in the seats with potentially high value stuff in it. I would suggest, if people agree, to also disable the option to being able to drive while carrying such items as mentioned. This way people HAVE to have an empty seat to put their bag or crate in. Ofcourse this would also mean that if a crate or bag is on the seat, that the seat can not be used by a person anymore, unless removed. For the rest, the way I would see this being implemented is simple: - You would have to unlock the vehicle and interact with the door of the seat where you want to put your bag or crate in to open it. - Once the door opened an option to store bag/crate/suitcase should be available when carrying one of these items and while looking at the empty seat. To remove the crate or bag you would have to do the same, but in reverse order. Let me know what you think. Edited August 22, 2020 by Yputi 1
Daxu Posted August 22, 2020 Report Posted August 22, 2020 I think that the vehicle's "Inventory" is the scripted version of what you're saying. You can't justify putting a duffel bag in a glove compartment obviously, so it's implied that it gets tossed in the backseat/passenger/floor of vehicle. I think it'd be cool to see a visual render though! That could work especially for PD who play in first person- as they could see a gun on a seat or an open bottle of alcohol or meth, etc.

Putting it in empty seats wont.
Qiang Posted August 22, 2020 Report Posted August 22, 2020 (edited) -1 sorry but when you have items in your crate or your bag lets say (weed table . maybe gun or some thing value ) and then your game crash and you are not able to re log back for 15 min if your stuff be inside your passenger seat you shit is gone good luck getting it back . people like to jump into unlock cars in middle of the street Edited August 22, 2020 by Qiang 1

I think it'd make sense to implement what you're talking about if we removed interior vehicle inventories, but at some point a fuckin car could store way too much stuff 1

LOL i didn't say rob when you crash and some saw your vehicle they just drive off and chop it they will not wait for you to you come back and good luck founding the player ID because for reporting someone you need actual evidence if you nor have enough evidence your report would be denied Edited August 22, 2020 by Qiang 1

Yputi Posted August 22, 2020 Author Report Posted August 22, 2020 yeah but that has no point in this suggestion, that's gonna happen if you have an inventory/trunk full of shit or car seats. There were multiple comments between this, but I will just respond to this one only. I agree. Nothing changes in comparison to the current functions of the vehicle. It would be an addition. It's 100% up to you to use it or not. If you not comfortable with it... don't use it. But the exact same will happen anyway, no matter what. If the concern is about vehicles getting stolen while crashing, thats kind off a different topic and is not related to this suggestion, but I still want to give a tip about VIP, as it comes with an autolock function. Back to the suggestion; the only thing that will "change" is that people no longer (claim to) RP putting their bags or crate in passenger seats, while scriptwise they still hold it in their hands. This would also allow someone to put 2 bags for example on the back seat of the car (which realisticly makes sense) while not having a bag in their hands while driving.

I agree with the cosmetic preference, and I'm all for it, immersion and whatnot. But there then needs to be an adjustment to the vehicle inventory system (not trunk storage) because for it to make sense to scriptly store a bag or guns or bottles or whatever into a seat, that takes up general storage space in the cabin of the vehicle. If nothing changed you could put 3+ full bags in the vehicle seats, then have 10+vol of storage in the "inventory". Make the vehicle inventory much smaller, call it a glove compartment/center console and I'm 100% backing it.
Kjaer Posted August 23, 2020 Report Posted August 23, 2020 -1 Should simply be able to /placeobject into storage.
