Finger print grabbing

Hey!

So this is a really short suggestion.

Change the command /takeprints

From accepting ID's to only accepting full name

Example:

 /takeprints 13

/takeprints Inori_Komatsu

This way officers can't PG to get your name.

As yes, it is confirmed PG, its intended to be used after identifying the suspect as if you are adding the prints to their MDC profile.

I can agree/disagree with this.

On one hand it would avoid any chance of any PG by /collectprints ID but, would this fail the collect prints if you do /collectprints NAME, and you now would now they have the wrong name and therefore making it known that the player is not who they say they are, leading us back to the same issue. Or would this assign the prints to whatever name is put in regardless if it’s correct or not? - This would then only cause the same issue when placing charges as you would not be able to. Where this would then force PD/SD to follow the correct procedure this would just pro long this happening as they inevitably find out the name is not correct again.

On the other hand this has only become a more recent issue since the removal of the use of /licence when players are not on the system and do not have a phone but there is already an implemented procedure that had been put in place following potential PG by doing /collectprints ID without RPly finding out who they are, which are to be followed if there is no way to identify an individual via ID or checking if prints already being in the system.

I feel like if the system is changed you will still come full circle or run into the same/similar issues and that having the rules in place to avoid and making sure players know when a PG rule break is being made on them regarding something like this, and also ensuring PD/SD correctly train on these matters to ensure there isn’t an abuse in the script.

The only way I can imagine this working to a degree is following the same suggestion of /Collectprints NAME, but once the prints are collected for the first time, that’s when you are registered into the MDC therefore overhauling the whole MDC system. Making every new player or player without prints within the police system removed and once prints are taken, that name is linked to there character within the MDC meaning anytime they are arrested, regardless of the name given, when prints are checked or attempted to be taken they will return to the first /collectprints that was taken with charges getting placed in that name.
This could be something that adds an extra layer to giving false details / the use of fake IDs which could later lead to police finding your true identity via a real licence or other means, or finding a different name on you a second time and needing to contact GOV for help on confirming true identity, and adjusting your name on the MDC and then facing further legal issues due to do providing false data. — In terms of a legal character, you could potentially make it so they would need to get confirmation through GOV of official documentation of identity to avoid any issues with fake names when applying for legal jobs which they would need to provide upon application or wanting to get things like a firearms licence.

I have a character that no one but staff knows the name of. SD tried to fingerprint me to "force obtain" my name. The moment they have my name. There is no coming back. The prints will be in the system and there is no way to reverse it. You only get 1 chance to be fully unknown. And making as easy as /collectprints ID is way to easy to mistakenly use or used "in frustration" by a PD or SD player who just wants to get the situation over with. There shouldn't be an option for Law enforcement players to force obtain your name. There is already an IC solution to not being able to identify a player. It's a way safer and better choice to make it so PD/SD needs to /report in the case of a player not having rply grotten rid of their ID. Then for randoms having to report because they used the command to force end the situation.

The moment you learn their name oocly, a lot of the magic is gone. If you want to or not, against the rules or not.

Law factions have a lot of (PG commands) they can use, as a lot of players are a pain to deal with. Such as /drag /prison and cuffing a taxed person. This has nothing to do with balance, but to make it possible to RP out a situation with a player who is too upset at getting arrested to comply with RP.

It cannot be compared to getting their name, as that's a whole other boat.

This would make the scanning of Registered license plates a pain. As they'd be registered. But... Have no details listed to them.
