Taser Balances

Hello, with the recent taser changes I’d like to ask for some ways to improve the quality for RP overall.

I believe there is another topic about this somewhere but I was looking forward into adding game mechanics into it and discussing the taser specifically.

since police tasers were given a 2 shot limit, its not ideal to use the baton to knock a suspect out after resisting 3+ taser shots from multiple officers and essentially forcing RP.

realistically, no human should be able to continue running after being tased after 2 times. Therefore, a small revamp would be appreciated.

before this turns into a leo vs crim discussion I’d appreciate if you can hear me out till the end.

1. Add the ‘dizzy effect’ after being tased over two times, the chance to be knocked out like taking excessive pain killers. The more you get tased the more it renders you to be knocked out and fall dizzy. If you have an escape solution nearby like a friend trying to pick you up this would be an ideal way to RP trying your best to reach them.

2. play the minigame of stumbling over like the one that appears when you run too fast in a house robbery. That way it allows more room for creative and realistic rp experience

or both in one with appropriate balance. Not a developer so I wouldn’t know what really works here but im sure its doable.

While not ideal for crims what was mentioned above, if you are a resisting arrest demon looking into

1. illegal vests/clothing which have electric insultation effect, that wear out like gloves, having the ‘wear’ of the vest/clothes be the probability a taser strikes you. This also adds a room for criminals who use drugs to escape on foot, and is creative overall.

2. Being in possesion of such immune clothing subjects you to a new possesion charge of it. That way you give a proper chance for criminals to escape being detained while keeping the experience for both sides.


I believe these balances are good for all parties and maks the whole experience better for all.

 

Of course, I’d love to hear out what everyone has to say about these recommended changes.

Heard you out to the end.

what youre asking for is at least several dozen hours of development time. the server has 2 part time devs.

If realistically, no one would be able to get up and run/resist after being tased twice, bonking them with a baton and "forcing" the rp (this is not forcing but i digress) seems fine to me. certainly more interactive than just infinitely tasing and after the second tase the perp is already asking for it.

Due to GTA melee mechanics being wonderful, theres a better than slim chance the cop fucks it up and hits their partner instead. so you still have that element of chance in the mix. You actually have a better chance than if you were hit with a circle minigame while trying to run away.
