I think you mean "Jump Out Boys" which is the name of gang inside the La Mesa police precinct next to the old Zetas HQ which is the home of the Gang and Narcotics Division of the LSPD. I hope I cleared up some confusion! Maybe I might post an RP thread too just for shits and giggles Edited June 5, 2025 by Clank Quote

Labs. Why does it happen there? Because robbing and killing people in non-isolated spots is frowned upon. That is part of it. More of it, really, is just that there are a lot of people who log onto this server just to fight. I couldn't care less about being able to rob/kill people in non-isolated spots. I care about how often a gang member rolls up to a lab and goes "yo, let's take this fight elsewhere so cops don't hear," for example. It's weird, PVP mentality. I LIKE pvp. I just want it to have RP reasoning. 23 minutes ago, Bala said: The biggest problem with PVP that I can see at the moment, is everyone (cop/crim) is using the nuclear weapons. It's like Rust and everyone has the AK blueprint on fresh wipe day. The biggest problem with PVP is that it is the entire focus of the server (at least from the crim side.) Everything is a means to an end, which is a gunfight/loot. 24 minutes ago, Bala said: People doing anything to win, because they can't take a loss isn't anything new. Too many people see their characters as an extension of themselves, because they aren't playing a character, they're playing themselves. They don't want to lose here too. Agreed. So why isn't the server enforcing playing a character? 25 minutes ago, Bala said: Address the entertainment factor for criminal stuff and it'll take care of itself. You'll still get clapping, but it won't be the only film playing at the cinema. We've allowed metagaming the house robbery UI and removed private labs. That is the opposite direction of what you're referring to. 25 minutes ago, Bala said: I can't lie, in the rare times I'm in one, I'd rather be involved in a shootout even if i'm target practice than sit through another criminal faction going all Iranian Embassy on city hall on a weekly basis kidnapping a Government official then getting misty eyed because they didn't get away with doing it. Fair. I've been on both sides of that. The point is: Before we address the people removing their shadows, employing "clapper settings," etc, address the mindset: Why does the server attract people who ONLY want to PVP? Address the cheaters, address the players who are constantly in labs, introduce things to do that do not involve hostile interaction. Just my opinion. Quote

Ve1ns Posted June 5, 2025 Report Posted June 5, 2025 I do understand your concerns regarding brightness, digital vibrance, and crosshairs possibly providing an advantage, especially in a competitive or roleplay environment. It makes sense that you'd want a fair playing field for everyone, and I agree that consistent rules for all factions (Cops, Crims, MD, etc.) are important. That said, I think it's also important to consider a few practical limitations when it comes to enforcing these kinds of settings. Adjusting brightness and color via in game settings or monitor profiles isn’t always done with the intention of gaining an edge sometimes it’s just about visibility or preference, especially for people with screen issues, like myself. I’ve personally played on a half burnt screen before, so I had my brightness maxed out just to be able to see anything at all. Also, things like monitor settings or built in display profiles aren’t visible in screenshots or recordings, so enforcing that kind of rule might not be as straightforward as it sounds. Even with the best intentions, it would be really difficult to tell who’s using what just from clips. I’m definitely open to fair rules and balanced gameplay, but I just think this particular issue might be a bit more complex than it seems at first glance. Appreciate the conversation either way it’s good that we’re discussing ways to improve the experience for everyone. Quote

Reward people who RP instead of PVP. Current systems reward the opposite. i really dont think banning people over a priority for pvp is the way to go, they arent always bad people they just like competition, thats good, however, the server really threw rp out the window with that past 2 years on developments including removing private labs, its just all pvp now, and i wonder if the devs actualy wanted this or if they where just romanticizing the 2019 days Quote
