Illegal Armor Update

As the Title suggest, I feel that there is a long overdue update regarding Armor for crims. I mainly feel that there needs to be a visual change to the armor, as it has been the same for ages now. With the recent clothing update, GSB and MD received new armor rigs. My idea, is that if you take these rigs, without the GSB/MD accessories, logos, etc. This would leave a standard black armor rig. I feel many people would enjoy if the armor that we have currently was updated to this standard black rig. It just improves the look, as we have had the same, somewhat weirdly textured armor for a while now.

If we wanted to take this a step further, there could even be different vest for the different organizations that can import the armor. This could be themed around the lore of the faction. Since it is a standard black rig, you could add different lore patches, accessories, etc. Since organizations import for other gangs as well, there can be an option to import just the standard black armor rig, or a rig in your factions colors/style.

Moving a bit away from cosmetic changes, I know this idea has been brought up in the past, but not really sure what happened with the idea. However, the idea is making armor plates able to be imported by gangs. As most crims that use Armor on a simi-regular basis, people have empty armors just sitting around with no purpose. This idea makes it where gangs that can import armor, can import just the armor plates, like you would get IRL for empty rigs. (Gangs would only be able to get plates, for how high or AP they can order at the time, I.E, if a gang can order up to 75AP armor rigs, they would be able to order 50, and 75AP plates to put into their empty armor rigs). This would make empty AP have a purpose. Ofcourse there would need to be a price and weight set for these, however I feel they could be a nice addition. A worry that some might mention is people just carrying plates around, and refilling their AP mid shootout. I feel the way to work around this, is changed the weight of the plates. If you have the space to store a heavy armor plate on you, and can access it mid shootout, and have time to refill it (Could add a timer/minigame to refill an empty armor with a plate), then go for it. Just have to have the proper risk vs reward factor of it.

Just some tweaks and updates that I feel would be fun to see with Illegal armor, as its something I don't really feel has been discussed or really thought about much. Let me know your thoughts!

I like this idea a lot because it reminds me of tanky classes from other video games.
The idea of a Heavy guy, always with armor plates, ammunition and blunts is quite cool.
Because my playstyle when it comes to PvP roleplay situations and other competitive shooter games is not being good at aiming but more so as a tank.
While of course it would be useful for other playstyles as well but if the situation is a lab shootout then some are cooks focusing on ingredients and having the inventory almost empty while others are mainly heavies and look for any other gang coming in.

I like the idea. i think its reasonable for plates to become an actual item you can put in AP. also with regards to swapping plates mid fight yeah just make the plates very cumbersome, make it so you cannot swap plates with a vest you are wearing, you have to take it off, and add a lengthy timer. all this would mean that swapping your plates mid fight would be impractical or at the very least, extremely risky, whilst still giving the functionality to repair/recycle old vests people have lying about.

Im not entirely sold on the idea of customisable or black vests, not sure if it makes thematic sense to put a bunch of stickers on armor like my little pony stickers on a little girls diary. also bear in mind the Armor is an illegal item, youre basically putting a "property of x gang" on an illegal item....

In regards to the "customizable" vest, I don't mean go over kill with it. More just Lore specific things for gangs. A simple Logo patch, etc. In regards to "Putting a Property of X gang" on an illegal item". I don't see it any different then the custom clothing that factions have to import in.

Clothing is a legal item, gangs are free to walk about in custom apparel as much as they like. putting something identifiable on an item it is a felony to own is the difference.

Valid point, However, people aren't going to be wearing these vest just anywhere. These would still be mainly worn in labs, fights, etc. If you are wearing AP, you don't expect to not have attention. Don't feel the fact its legal or not matter at that point. Its more just to represent your gang in said situations.

Though, I can understand where you are coming from, why the "Lore Patches, etc" was more of an added note. My main reasoning for everything was for just the standard black rig, as the AP we have currently is very outdated, and feel a standard rig would just be better overall.

I do love this idea it’s very well thought out and I would love to see it. However, I share the same opinion with Quiet, a ‘customised’ plate no matter the depth just sounds unnecessary.

+1 nonetheless.
