Custom Markers / Blips - POI System

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Being a new player in town, and not having played THAT much GTA5 to know all of the city's alleys and spots by memory, I find myself opening the map to go to some specific spots plenty of times, even though it's kind of not that hard to start learning all the roads and stuff, but it would be amazing to have a set number of custom markers that you can put wherever you want on the map and then be able to set a waypoint on them so you get your GPS to guide you there.
I know we currently have POI's, but it seems like they get removed after each relog, and that's kind of a bummer honestly.

For example: Each player gets a specific number of custom markers (10 maybe? 20?) that they can put on the map, adding more than the limit will simply overwrite the first one that was placed. Also, it would be an amazing feature to be able to /gpsloc 1 > which will set the GPS directly to Marker #1 - /gpsloc 2 > which will set the GPS directly to Marker #2... and so on.
(commands and such can obviously be whatever the developer feels like its the best option for players, or even in the U menu).
If it is implemented in the U menu, it would be nice if there was an option to rename the markers so we can keep them organized.
Like:
Marker 1 - HQ
Marker 2 - Drug Lab
Marker 3 - Businessman #1
Marker 4 - Businessman #2
Marker 5 - John Doe's Apartment
Marker 6 - Drop Location

and so on..

Additionally, it would be pretty awesome if you could share these GPS locations with other players near you, something like /sharegps ID Marker#. I can't count the number of times I've let someone else drive just because it was too much of a hassle to direct each other towards the right direction.

(Sorry if any part of the above is already present in the server in any form, I'm still kinda new, so I don't know ALL the interactions and cmd's. If so, please disregard that section)
