Drop the refund request amount

Recommended Posts

Dear 2300,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to respond to your proposal regarding the refund requirement. While I agree that having a refund requirement of $15,000 is a good idea for financial stability, I'd like to suggest an alternative perspective.

Lowering the refund requirement to $1,000 could offer several advantages. Many of us have experienced situations where having that extra $1,000 in our pockets would have made a significant difference, especially in emergencies or for day-to-day expenses like food. Here are a few reasons why I believe this lower amount could be more beneficial:

  • Emergency Access: A lower refund requirement provides more immediate access to funds in times of need, such as unexpected medical expenses, car repairs, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Financial Flexibility: It offers members greater flexibility to manage their finances, allowing for more comfortable budgeting and the ability to meet their basic needs without undue stress.
  • Mitigating Debt: A lower refund requirement may help prevent members from taking on high-interest debt when facing unexpected expenses.
  • Reduced Stress: Financial stress can have a significant impact on mental and emotional well-being. Lowering the refund requirement can help alleviate this stress, contributing to a happier and healthier community.

Of course, the final decision should be based on the collective needs and goals of our community. I just wanted to provide some insight into why a lower refund requirement might be a favorable option for consideration. I look forward to discussing this further and hearing the thoughts of our community members.

Please let me know if you'd like to set up a meeting to discuss this proposal in more detail or if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Doing this will result in more forum reports with players just reporting to get a weapon refunded. 15k is not hard to get.

Yeah sure, 15k is easy to get. But my point is, to get heavy weaponry as a solo criminal or even with any cartel access is already hard as it is, and losing it to a rule breach should entitle you to a refund. You wouldn’t really know much though, you can just spawn in a carbine mk2 with unlimited ammo and unlimited armour 🤷‍♂️

+1

I had a situation where someone rule broke and killed me, costing my legal character his Heavy Pistol with ammo, Car Speaker, GPS, Radio, etc. and it all accumulated to about 15-20k. I don't have enough time consistency to play a faction on this server, and being a farmer makes about 10k per IRL hour (highest paid freelance job I've found with job board). While it's not incredibly hard to make money, my character realistically shouldn't have lost that in the first place.

Even outside of player report situations, an otherwise refundable reason causing you to lose even 10k absolutely blows. I don't know if I could go as far as suggesting a $1000 minimum, but I think $25,000 is too much.

I have seen some refund requests list numbers lower than the $25,000 minimum, but don't know whether or not that would be the sole reason for them being denied.
