  1. If it was given when the situation started then we’d have people starting situations so often for prison break and it’s not something we can do so frequently for a variety of reasons (doc/LEO availability, admin availability to oversee etc).

One of the main differences between say a normal hostage scenario and a prison break attempt is that approval for prison break is a reason for taking a hostage or kidnap as it is, but otherwise you can’t really just take anyone hostage within the rules otherwise we’d see it for little to no reason. Sometimes we’ve approved prison breaks when the stars have aligned for a opportunistic break for example an LEO has let a gun in the cellblock but even then that depends on availability to facilitate as they’re pretty large scenarios.

But what I’m saying is that regardless of when it starts there’s a bunch of requirements that need to be met for a prison break to work or be allowed and if we allowed people to just do it anytime they please then it’d be chaos.

A common example is when a knife or something is left on an inmate they can request the permissions and then do it as opposed to taking someone hostage immediately.

In the times Where someone has started a scenario then requested it, if it couldn’t be facilitated it just ends up in a super awkward scenario if a hostage where an inmate is requesting something stupid like food or money because we couldn’t do a prison break

But I think the main reason it is how it is currently is because it’s so case by case and not every PB is the same so it’s easier to overlook when it’s requested first

  2. Vandalism is 15 minutes and $1000 so something tells me there's probably a fair bit more to it that you're not saying. But generally speaking ATMs are pretty low risk low reward and a good starter crime as they are. You just have to play it right to not rack up extra charges.

    For example:
smacking an ATM, keeping illegal money on you, then getting caught doing another ATM, then running from the cops, all whilst armed with your gun and a mask on in a stolen car. You're gonna get significantly more time and charges than something like
you get caught hitting an ATM without an illegal gun and nothing illegal on you and you don't run. Same applies to a lot of crime

  3. What you're saying is you used to own some guns legally but for one reason or another, you don't anymore.
Think of it this way, you buy a legal gun with a serial number and it's registered to you. Just because you lost it doesn't mean that link just disappears, maybe the government still think you have a gun because you bought 2 before.

There's ways you can resolve this in-character maybe talk to other people who legally own guns, or a cop or something. I'd also recommend browsing the area where you initially applied for the gun there might be info: https://gov.eclipse-rp.net/viewforum.php?f=556

  4. After a quick discussion, we'll be aiming to split these kind of posts and move them to the ic advertising area and contacting the thread owner to guide them to do so going forward.

I have edited out IC text where I can from people who have done updates within the last month or two and are still relevant and will be policing it going forward. And also guided existing active thread owners on how to advertise properly going forward. 🙂

  5. It's a good point you make. For the most part these posters fit into the natural flow of the story people are telling about their business (As this was meant to be like faction threads but for businesses to showcase their rp). But you have a point it does effectively get into metagaming territory.

I'll raise this up for discussion to see where we stand on allowing these things or if we'll ask them to censor the IC details. It just seems to be not moderated much either.

  6. The installation in your video wasn’t too clean, it was a bit wonky and a bit too deep in the wall but I respect the business! I’ll point anyone that needs safe installation right to you

  7. I had this issue then I was told that if you just place it on the ground without rotating it, it works flawlessly.
So i've had great success just flooring it with P then driving the car into the desired position and it's much much easier than trying to adjust your jack to fit the car position.
With my own experimenting, it seems that if you have to rotate the jack, that's when it gets a bit fucky.

It's convenient. Running back and forth to Legion Square at the end or start of your shift isn't convenient, for any faction including MD and PD who are the closest.

We’ve had no issues adapting at MD. Only people who have had issues are ones too lazy to move their car down the road.

But my point being, the minor inconvenience of needing to walk around the corner isn’t justification to 180 on the change imo.

IC man, nothing to do with the rulechange 🙂

It’s as a pretty direct result of the rule change but it’s also rp so nothing much to complain about regarding it tbh 🙌

  9. I’m still not sure how parking is that huge of a deal when legion square parking is literally walking distance around 1 corner.

The hospital shootout was a once occurring thing like day 1 or 2 that put everyone on the same page after and to my knowledge hasn’t happened since. I don’t think that’s much of a benchmark.

Weazel taking the picklocking thing ic when it’s just a result of a rule change is silly though, I agree.

For what are mostly minor inconveniences, and the odd goober taking advantage, the rule change has created a lot of rp scenarios and enabled some good rp that I’ve seen first hand.

I still think we could do with more time trialing.
